Fear Allah and avoid what you dislike

[AI] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: O Messenger of Allah, advise me. He said: "Fear Allah, and if you are in a gathering and you leave it, then you hear them saying what pleases you, then go to it; and if you hear them saying what you dislike, then leave it."

أحمد:١٨٧٢٠ – حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا قُرَّةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ ضِرْغَامَةَ بْنِ عُلَيْبَةَ بْنِ حَرْمَلَةَ الْعَنْبَرِيِّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ:

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَوْصِنِي. قَالَ: «اتَّقِ اللهَ، وَإِذَا كُنْتَ فِي مَجْلِسٍ فَقُمْتُ مِنْهُ، فَسَمِعْتَهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا يُعْجِبُكَ، فَأْتِهِ، وَإِذَا سَمِعْتَهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا تَكْرَهُ، فَاتْرُكْهُ».
