الْمَعْرُورُ بْنُ سُوَيْدٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "When sins become apparent among my ummah (community), Allah will cover them with punishment." I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, even when there are righteous people among them?" He said, "Yes." I asked, "Then how will those people deal with it?" He said, "They will be afflicted with what afflicts the people, then they will seek forgiveness from Allah and His pleasure."  

الطبراني:٢٠١٤٤ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْمَوْصِلِيُّ ثنا خَلَفُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ ثنا خَلَفُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ثنا خَلَفُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ عَنْ لَيْثٍ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ عَنِ الْمَعْرُورِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ تَقُولُ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِذَا ظَهَرَتِ الْمَعَاصِي فِي أُمَّتِي عَمَّهُمُ اللهُ بِعَذَابٍ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَمَا فِي النَّاسِ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَاسٌ صَالِحُونَ قَالَ «بَلَى» قُلْتُ فَكَيْفَ يَصْنَعُ أُولَئِكَ؟ قَالَ «يُصِيبُهُمْ مَا أَصَابَ النَّاسَ ثُمَّ يَصِيرُونَ إِلَى مَغْفِرَةٍ مِنَ اللهِ وَرِضْوَانٍ» «لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ»

[Machine] From Umm Salama, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, she said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "When sins appear among my Ummah, Allah will afflict them with punishment from Himself." So I said, "O Messenger of Allah, on that Day, will there not be any righteous people among them?" He said, "Indeed, there will be." She asked, "So what will they do?" He replied, "They will be affected by what afflicts the people, then they will turn to the forgiveness and pleasure of Allah."
