tabarani:19913ʿUbayd b. Ghannām > Abū Bakr b. Shaybah > Abū al-Aḥwaṣ > Abū Isḥāq > Abū Salamah > Um Salamah

‘By the One Who took his soul (i.e., the soul of the Prophet ﷺ), he did not die until he offered most of his prayers sitting down. And the dearest of the actions to him was the righteous action that the person does regularly, even if it were a little.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1225)  

الطبراني:١٩٩١٣حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنِ شَيْبَةَ ثنا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ

«وَالَّذِي ذَهَبَ بِنَفْسِهِ مَا مَاتَ حَتَّى كَانَتْ أَكْثَرُ صَلَاتِهِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ وَكَانَ أَحَبُّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَيْهِ الْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ الَّذِي يَدُومُ عَلَيْهِ الْعَبْدُ وَإِنْ كَانَ يَسِيرًا»

“By the One Who took his ﷺ soul, he did not die until most of his prayers were offered sitting down. And the most beloved of deeds to him was a righteous deed which a person persists in doing, even if it is something small.”  

ابن ماجة:٤٢٣٧حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ

[Machine] And he (referring to the Prophet ﷺ) who took his own life means that the Prophet ﷺ did not pass away until he used to perform most of his prayers while sitting, except the obligatory ones, and the most beloved action to him was the one that a person consistently does, even if it is little.  

أحمد:٢٦٥٩٩حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ

وَالَّذِي تَوَفَّى نَفْسَهُ تَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَا تُوُفِّيَ حَتَّى كَانَتْ أَكْثَرُ صَلَاتِهِ قَاعِدًا إِلَّا الْمَكْتُوبَةَ وَكَانَ أَعْجَبُ الْعَمَلِ إِلَيْهِ الَّذِي يَدُومُ عَلَيْهِ الْعَبْدُ وَإِنْ كَانَ يَسِيرًا

[Machine] "Um Salama, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ , said, 'By the One who has taken his soul, the Prophet ﷺ did not pass away until his most frequent prayer was the one he performed while sitting, except for the obligatory prayers. And his most beloved action to him was that which a servant consistently adheres to, even if it is small.'"  

أحمد:٢٦٦٠٥حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ

عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَتْ وَالَّذِي تَوَفَّى نَفْسَهُ مَا مَاتَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ حَتَّى كَانَتْ أَكْثَرُ صَلَاتِهِ قَاعِدًا إِلَّا الصَّلَاةَ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ وَكَانَ أَحَبُّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَيْهِ الَّذِي يَدُومُ عَلَيْهِ الْعَبْدُ وَإِنْ كَانَ يَسِيرًا

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not pass away until most of his prayers were offered sitting down, except for the obligatory prayers, and the dearest of actions to him were those which were done persistently, even if they were few." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1654)

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to pray mostly while sitting, except for the obligatory prayers. The actions that he loved the most were those that were consistent, even if they were few.

كَانَ أَكْثَرُ صَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ جَالِسًا إِلَّا الصَّلَاةَ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ وَكَانَ أَحَبُّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَيْهِ مَا دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهِ الْإِنْسَانُ وَإِنْ كَانَ يَسِيرًا  

ذِكْرُ الْإِبَاحَةِ لِلْمَرْءِ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ التَّطَوُّعَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not pass away until his most frequent prayer was while he was sitting, and the most beloved action to him was whatever the servant persistently did, even if it was small."  

ابن حبّان:٢٥٠٧أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ

«مَا مَاتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ حَتَّى كَانَ أَكْثَرُ صَلَاتِهِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ وَكَانَ أَحَبَّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَيْهِ مَا دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهِ الْعَبْدُ وَإِنْ كَانَ يَسِيرًا»
