[Machine] "O Messenger of Allah, should we make the Station of Ibrahim a place of prayer?" So the verse was revealed: "And take the Station of Ibrahim as a place of prayer" (Quran 2:125)
«يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لَوِ اتَّخَذْنَا مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى» فَنَزَلَتْ {وَاتَّخِذُوا مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى}
that 'Umar bin Al-Khattab said: "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! I wish that we could perform Salat behind the Maqam: So the following was revealed: And take you the Maqam of Ibrahim as a place of Salat. (2:125)."
يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَوْ صَلَّيْنَا خَلْفَ الْمَقَامِ فَنَزَلَتْ (وَاتَّخِذُوا مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى )
that 'Umar bin Al-Khattab [may Allah be pleased with him] said: "I said: 'O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! I wish that you could perform Salat behind the Maqam of Ibrahim.' So the following was revealed: And take you the Maqam of Ibrahim as a place of Salat."
عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ قُلْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَوِ اتَّخَذْتَ مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى فَنَزَلَتْ (وَاتَّخِذُوا مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى )
“I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, why do you not take the Maqam of Ibrahim as a place of prayer?’ Then the following was revealed: ‘And take you (people) the Maqam of Ibrahim as a place of prayer.’” [2:125]
عُمَرُ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَوِ اتَّخَذْتَ مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى فَنَزَلَتْ {وَاتَّخِذُوا مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى}
“I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, why do you not take the Maqam of Ibrahim as a place of prayer?’ Then the following was revealed: ‘And take you (people) the Maqam of Ibrahim as a place of prayer.’” [2:125] (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1009)
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لَوِ اتَّخَذْتَ مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى {وَاتَّخِذُوا مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى} [البقرة 125]
"عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ: قال عمر بن الخطاب للنبى ﷺ : لو اتخذنا من مقام إبراهيم مصلى فأنزل اللَّه -تعالى-: {وَاتَّخِذُوا مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى} ".
