[Machine] Abdullah, indeed in the Book of Allah there are two signs: if a servant commits a sin and then recites them (the signs), Allah forgives him. And His saying: "And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves, remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins - and who can forgive sins except Allah?" And His saying: "And whoever does a wrong or wrongs himself but then seeks forgiveness of Allah will find Allah Forgiving and Merciful."
عَبْدُ اللهِ إِنَّ فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ لَآيَتَيْنِ مَا أَذْنَبَ عَبْدٌ ذَنْبًا فَقَرَأَهُمَا فَاسْتَغْفَرَ اللهَ إِلَّا غَفَرَ اللهُ لَهُ {وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُوا فَاحِشَةً أَوْ ظَلَمُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ ذَكَرُوا اللهَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُوا لِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَنْ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا اللهُ} وَقَوْلُهُ {وَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ سُوءًا أَوْ يَظْلِمْ نَفْسَهُ ثُمَّ يَسْتَغْفِرِ اللهَ يَجِدِ اللهَ غَفُورًا رَحِيمًا}
[Machine] About Ali and Ibn Mas'ood in his saying: "And [also prohibited to you are all] married women except those your right hands possess." Ali said, "When polytheistic women are captured, they are permissible for him." And Ibn Mas'ood said, "Polytheistic women and Muslim women."
[Machine] In his saying "And the one on his side" he said, "The woman."
[Machine] From Abdullah regarding his saying "And We will surely let them taste the nearer punishment", he said, "The day of Badr", and "and the greater punishment that perhaps they will turn back", he said, "Whoever remains among them to repent will turn back".
[Machine] Indeed, it is written in the Torah for those whose hearts are unused to this world, whom neither sight nor hearing has reached, nor has it occurred to the heart of man. And verily, it is in the Qur'an, "So a soul do not know what is hidden for them of the delights of the eyes."
إِنَّهُ لَمَكْتُوبٌ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ لِلَّذِينَ تَتَجَافَى جُنُوبُهُمْ عَنِ الْمَضَاجِعِ مَا لَمْ تَرَ عَيْنٌ وَلَمْ تَسْمَعْ أُذُنٌ وَلَمْ يَخْطُرْ عَلَى قَلْبِ بَشَرٍ وَإِنَّهُ لَفِي الْقُرْآنِ {فَلَا تَعْلَمُ نَفْسٌ مَا أُخْفِي لَهُمْ مِنْ قُرَّةِ أَعْيُنٍ}
[Machine] "If the ant were to be punished in its hole for the sins of the children of Adam." Then he recited, "And if Allah were to punish the people for what they have earned, He would not leave upon the earth any creature..."
«إِنْ كَانَ الْجُعْلُ لَيُعَذَّبُ فِي جُحْرِهِ بِذُنُوبِ بَنِي آدَمِ» ثُمَّ قَرَأَ {وَلَوْ يُؤَاخِذُ اللهُ النَّاسَ بِمَا كَسَبُوا مَا تَرَكَ عَلَى ظَهْرِهَا مِنْ دَابَّةٍ}
[Machine] In His saying, "And the angels lined up in rows" He said, "The angels." In His saying, "And those who drive away with a firm command" He said, "The angels." In His saying, "And those who recite the remembrance" He said, "The angels." He said, "The angels."
[Machine] "Indeed, in the seven heavens, there is not a single space the width of a handspan except that it has an angel's forehead or feet standing [in worship]. Then, He recited, 'Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian.'"
«إِنَّ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ سَمَاءٌ مَا فِيهَا مَوْضِعُ شِبْرٍ إِلَّا عَلَيْهِ جَبْهَةُ مَلَكٍ أَوْ قَدَمَاهُ قَائِمًا» ثُمَّ قَرَأَ {وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ الصَّافُّونَ وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ الْمُسَبِّحُونَ}
أَنْ قَالَ {أَكْفِلْنِيهَا}
[Machine] In his saying "Our Lord, You caused us to die twice and You gave us life twice," it is like that in the cow [surah] "You were lifeless, and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life, and then to Him you will be returned."
فِي قَوْلِهِ {§رَبَّنَا أَمَتَّنَا اثْنَتَيْنِ وَأَحْيَيْتَنَا اثْنَتَيْنِ} قَالَ هِي مِثْلُ الَّتِي فِي الْبَقَرَةِ {كُنْتُمْ أَمْوَاتًا فَأَحْيَاكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيكُمْ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ}
[Machine] We were sitting in the mosque when a man entered and started speaking. He said, "On the Day of Judgment, there will be smoke that will grab the ears of the hypocrites and will affect the believers like a cold. We then went to Abdullah ibn Mas'ud and informed him about what the man said. He was reclining but sat up and said, "O people, whoever knows something should speak about it, and whoever doesn't know should say, 'Allah knows best'. For it is not appropriate for a person to say something that he doesn't know, while Allah has said to his Prophet, 'Say: I ask no reward of you for this (Quran), nor am I one of the pretenders.' Now, I will tell you about the smoke. When the Quraysh became stubborn and delayed accepting Islam, the Prophet ﷺ invoked against them, saying, 'O Allah, help me against them with seven years like the years of Prophet Yusuf.' So they were struck with a drought for a year until they ate dead animals and bones, to the extent that a person could see the smoke between them and the sky. That is what Allah says: 'Therefore watch for the day when the sky will bring forth a visible smoke, covering the people: this is a grievous punishment. "Our Lord! Remove the torment from us, really we shall become believers!" So He turned away their punishment... but then they returned to disbelief. And on the Day of Badr, Allah seized them. That is what Allah says: ‘The day we shall seize the greatest seizure, truly, we will indeed exact retribution’. Abdullah said, "The greatest seizure was on the Day of Badr."
(Enveloping) by the smoke, inevitable (punishment to the Meccans at Badr), (the victory of) Rome, (violent) seizing (of the Meccans at Badr) and (the splitting up of) the Moon. (Using translation from Muslim 2798c)
[Machine] "In His saying, 'Indeed, he saw of the greatest signs of his Lord,' He said, 'Gabriel, ﷺ , in a fluttering attire that filled the space between the heavens and the earth.'"
[Machine] About Abdullah's statement {Indeed, he has seen of the signs of his Lord, the greatest}, he said, "He saw a green banner that covered the horizon."
[Machine] Abu al-Walid al-Tayalisi narrated: They said: Shu'bah narrated from Sulaiman, from Ibrahim, from 'Alqamah, from Abdullah regarding His statement: "Indeed, he saw of the greatest signs of his Lord" (Quran 53:18). He said, "He saw a green curtain covering the horizon of the sky."
[Machine] About Abdullah's saying regarding "Indeed, he has seen from the signs of his Lord, the greatest." He said, "A green fluttering from Paradise that has filled the horizon."

[Machine] In his saying, "{Indeed, he (Muhammad) saw of the greatest signs of his Lord]," he said, "Muhammad ﷺ saw Gabriel in his true form, with six hundred wings, and not one wing but it filled the space between the east and the west."
[Machine] "Regarding the statement of Abdullah, 'Indeed he has seen the greatest signs of his Lord,' he said, 'He has six hundred wings.'"
[Machine] In his statement "{§By the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary}" he said, "The reward of Paradise includes palaces of silk and brocade."
[Machine] "The righteous vision is part of seventy parts of prophethood, and indeed the venom from which the jinn are created is part of seventy parts of the fire of hell, and indeed your fire is part of seventy parts of the fire of hell."
[Machine] On the authority of Abdullah ibn Mas'ud in his statement, "O you who have believed, do not ally yourselves with a people with whom Allah is angry. They have despaired of the Hereafter as the disbelievers have despaired of those in graves," "So they do not believe in it, nor do they have any share in it. And this disbeliever, when he dies and witnesses his punishment and sees its consequence, does not believe in it."
[Machine] Regarding this verse, "And whoever is saved from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be the successful," I am an individual who has not been able to suppress any urge in me, and I fear that this verse may apply to me. Abdullah ibn Mas'ud said, "You mentioned stinginess, and stinginess is a vile thing. As for what Allah mentioned, what you said does not fall under intentionally taking the property of others or your brother and consuming it."
[Machine] In his statement "حُسُومًا," he said "مُتَتَابِعَاتٌ."
[Machine] In his saying, "Its end is musk," he said: It is not a ring that is sealed with it, but its mixture is musk. Have you not seen the woman among your women say: Its mixture is from the perfume such and such?
[Machine] Abdullah Al-Khunnas Al-Jiwar Al-Kunnas asked, "What is it, O Amr?" He said, "I said, 'the cow.'" He said, "And I see it."
[Machine] "Narrated Abdullah, 'And recite to them the story of the one to whom We gave Our signs.' He said, 'It is Bal'am, also known as Bal'am.'"
[Machine] I said, "As for the reward, we have known it, but what about the spoils?" He said, "Forty dirhams for each person."
[Machine] Abdullah said, "Indeed, imminent chaos lies ahead."
[Machine] What Joseph bought with it was twenty dirhams, and his family when he sent them, while they were in Egypt, was ninety-three men, their men were prophets and their women were truthful. And by Allah, they did not leave with it with Moses until their number reached 670,000.
[Machine] "Abdullah, surely in women there are five signs that please me in this world and what is in it. And I have known that the scholars, when they come across these signs, recognize them: 'If you refrain from major sins which you are forbidden, We will remove from you your lesser sins and admit you to a noble entrance.' And His saying, 'Indeed, Allah does not do injustice, [even] as much as an atom's weight; while if there is a good deed, He multiplies it and gives from Himself a great reward.' And 'Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills.' And 'If they had only, when they were unjust to themselves, come to you and asked forgiveness of Allah and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah Accepting of repentance and Merciful.' And 'And whoever does a wrong or wrongs himself but then seeks forgiveness of Allah will find Allah Forgiving and Merciful.'"

عَبْدُ اللهِ إِنَّ فِي النِّسَاءِ لَخَمْسُ آيَاتٍ مَا يَسُرُّنِي بِهِنَّ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا وَقَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّ الْعُلَمَاءَ إِذَا مَرُّوا بِهَا يَعْرِفُونَهَا {إِنْ تَجْتَنِبُوا كَبَائِرَ مَا تُنْهَوْنَ عَنْهُ نُكَفِّرْ عَنْكُمْ سَيِّئَاتِكُمْ وَنُدْخِلْكُمْ مَدْخَلًا كَرِيمًا} وَقَوْلُهُ {إِنَّ اللهَ لَا يَظْلِمُ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ وَإِنْ تَكُ حَسَنَةً يُضَاعِفْهَا وَيُؤْتِ مِنْ لَدُنْهُ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا} وَ {إِنَّ اللهَ لَا يَغْفِرُ أَنْ يُشْرَكَ بِهِ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَلِكَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ} {وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ إِذْ ظَلَمُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ جَاءُوكَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُوا اللهَ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ الرَّسُولُ لَوَجَدُوا اللهَ تَوَّابًا رَحِيمًا} {وَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ سُوءًا أَوْ يَظْلِمْ نَفْسَهُ ثُمَّ يَسْتَغْفِرِ اللهَ يَجِدِ اللهَ غَفُورًا رَحِيمًا}
[Machine] Abdullah replied, "Indeed, in the Qur'an there are two verses that if a servant commits a sin and then recites them and seeks forgiveness from Allah, he will be forgiven." They asked him about these verses, but he did not inform them. Alqamah and Al-Aswad said to each other, "Let us go with him." So they went to the house, took the Mushaf (book), and started reciting Surah Al-Baqarah. They said, "We did not see them." Then they continued reciting until they reached the verse, "And whoever does evil or wrongs himself but then seeks forgiveness from Allah, he will find Allah forgiving and merciful." They said, "This is one." Then they continued reciting Surah Al-Imran until they reached the verse, "And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves, remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins - and who can forgive sins except Allah? And [who] do not persist in what they have done while they know." They said, "This is the other." Then they closed the book and went to Abdullah and asked, "Are these the two verses?" He replied, "Yes."
[Machine] Abdullah said, "A man remains in a state of purity in his religion as long as he does not shed forbidden blood. But when he sheds forbidden blood, his modesty is stripped away from him."
[Machine] In His saying "upon yourselves be it" He ﷻ said, "This is not the time for it, so say it if it is accepted from you. But if it is rejected from you, then it is upon yourselves. It will not harm you if someone goes astray."
[Machine] In his saying {On the day of Furqan, the day the two groups met}, he said, "It was on the seventeenth night of Ramadan."
[Machine] Seek the night of Al-Qadr in the seventeenth, nineteenth, and twenty-first nights of Ramadan, during the pre-dawn of the day of Badr, the day of the great distinction, the day the two groups met. It cannot occur except in an odd-numbered night.
[Machine] Abdullah considered the hypocrites in three situations: when they speak lies, when they break their promises, and when they betray their covenants. And Allah revealed the confirmation of this in His book, from the verse "And among them are those who made a covenant with Allah, [saying], 'If He should give us from His bounty...'" until the end of the verse.
[Machine] About Abdullah's saying, "{Those are the ones who invoke, seeking means to their Lord.}" He said, "There were people who used to be worshiped. So those who used to worship them embraced Islam, while those who used to worship them did not know (the truth) about them. Thus, Allah criticized them for that." Then he said, "{Those are the ones who invoke, seeking means to their Lord.}"
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ فِي قَوْلِهِ {أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ يَبْتَغُونَ إِلَى رَبِّهِمُ الْوَسِيلَةَ} قَالَ «كَانَ نَاسٌ يَعْبُدُونَهُمْ فَأَسْلَمَ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَهُمْ وَلَا يَعْلَمُ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَهُمْ فَعَيَّرَهُمُ اللهُ ﷻ بِذَلِكَ» فَقَالَ {أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ يَبْتَغُونَ إِلَى رَبِّهِمُ الْوَسِيلَةَ}
[Machine] In His saying "And whoever desires other than Islam as a religion - never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers" (Quran 3:85), Allah warns against deviation and wrongdoing. He declares that those who plan or intend to commit a sin, but have not executed it, will not be held accountable until they actually commit the sin. Likewise, those who plan or intend to commit a sin and execute it only in private will not be punished by death until they are given a taste of painful punishment by Allah.
[Machine] "Allah [God] ﷻ [may He be exalted] [has created] men [who are] not distracted by trade or selling [from] the remembrance of Allah."
اللهُ ﷻ {رِجَالٌ لَا تُلْهِيهِمْ تِجَارَةٌ وَلَا بَيْعٌ عَنْ ذِكْرِ اللهِ}
[Machine] Allah sends the winds, which carry the water. Then clouds pass by, swirling like bales of cotton. Then it rains.
[Machine] I do not measure anything against anything until its proof is established.
[Machine] On the authority of Salamah bin Nubayt, from Ad-Dahhak, that Abdullah bin Mas'ud melted silver from the Bayt al-Mal (treasury) and then sent it to the people of the mosque, saying, "Whoever wants to see generosity, let them look at this."
[Machine] He entered the treasury and called for a candle that was in it. He lit it until it melted and said, "Where is the one asking about patience? This is patience."
[Machine] Abdullah narrated that every one of us will definitely pass over it (the bridge). He said, "Its width is like the width of a hair."
[Machine] Marwan said, "And we gave him his family and a similar number along with them." Ibn Mas'ud replied, "No, he came with his family and their leaders and a similar number along with them."
[Machine] About Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), he narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said, "He is a servant who remained steadfast and patient despite being in a state of anger."
[Machine] If there remain in Hell those who are to remain in it, they are placed in coffins of fire with nails of fire. That is mentioned twice or thrice before they see anyone in Hell being punished other than them. Then Abdullah recited, "For them therein is a roaring blast and they are in it neither hearing nor seeing" (Surah Al-'Anbya', 21:101).
إِذَا بَقِيَ فِي النَّارِ مَنْ يُخَلَّدُ فِيهَا جُعِلُوا فِي تَوَابِيتَ مِنْ نَارٍ فِيهَا مَسَامِيرُ مِنْ نَارٍ قَالَ ذَلِكَ مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا فَلَا يَرَوْنَ أَحَدًا فِي النَّارِ يُعَذَّبُ غَيْرُهُمْ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ عَبْدُ اللهِ {لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِيرٌ وَهُمْ فِيهَا لَا يَسْمَعُونَ}
