[Machine] And he said, "Fasting for three days every month."
[Machine] "Fasting for three days every month relieves the heat of the chest."
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say: "Sami Allahu liman hamidah, Rabbana wa lakal-hamd, mil'as-samawati wa mil'al-ardi wa mil'ama shi'ta min shai'in ba'd. Athlath-thana'i wal-majdi khairu ma qalal-'abdu wa kulluna laka 'abdun la mani'a lima a'taita wa la yanfa'u dhal-jaddi minkal-jadd (Allah hears the one who praises Him; Our Lord, to You be the Praise, filling the heavens, filling the Earth, and filling whatever else You will, Lord of Glory and Majesty, the truest thing a slave had said, and we are all slaves to You. None can withhold what You grant, nor can the possession of an owner benefit him before You.)" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1068)
[Machine] Between the sky and the earth is a journey of five hundred years.
[Machine] He said, "The distance between the lowest heaven and the one above it is the journey of five hundred years. And between each heaven is the journey of five hundred years. And between the seventh heaven and the Throne is the journey of five hundred years. And between the Throne and the water is the journey of five hundred years. And the Throne is above the water. And Allah is above the Throne, knowing what you are upon."
[Machine] The sun rises from the depths of hell between two devil horns, and it does not rise in the sky as a cinder unless a gate from the gates of fire is opened. When the heat intensifies, all of its gates are opened.
[Machine] Abdullah saw a man with some money and said, "What do you do with it?" He said, "I buy buckets of butter with it." Abdullah said, "Give it to your wife to put it under her pillow, and then buy meat for a dirham every day."
[Machine] "Indeed, Allah has divided your manners among you as He has divided your provisions. Allah gives wealth to whom He wills and He withholds it from whom He wills. And He does not give faith except to whom He wills. So when Allah loves a servant, He gives him the faith. So whoever is given wealth by Allah, let him spend it, and whoever is given an enmity by Allah, let him fight it. And whoever is given a night by Allah, let him strive in it. So let him increase in saying "There is no god but Allah" and "Allah is the Greatest" and "Praise be to Allah" and "Glory be to Allah"."
[Machine] Abdullah asked, "Do you know how Islam diminishes?" They replied, "It diminishes like the dye on a garment, like the hair on an animal, and like the length of a dirham through excessive use." He said, "Indeed, that is part of it, and even more than that is the death of scholars or their departure."
[Machine] The path is laid out evenly, like the sharp blade that slices, and it has slippery slopes upon which hooks made of fire violently snatch those who fall and those who pass quickly like lightning without being harmed, and those who pass swiftly like a running horse, and those who pass swiftly like a galloping horse, and those who pass swiftly like the pace of a man, until the last of them is a human being who is scorched by the fire, experiencing its evil, until Allah admits him into Paradise by His mercy. It will be said to him, "Ask and you shall be granted." He will say, "My Lord, are you mocking me, while You are the Lord of all honor?" It will be said to him, "Ask and you shall be granted." He said, "Until hopes are cut off, you will be given everything you ask for." He said, "And Abu Salih narrated to me from Abu Huraira, who said, "And there are ten like it with him."
[Machine] A man from Bajilah came to Abdullah and said, "I have married a young virgin girl, and I fear that I may harm her." Abdullah responded, "Intercourse with love (gentleness) is from Allah, and roughness is from Shaytan. Make sure to instruct her to pray two units of prayer after you enter (upon her)." Al-A'mash said, "I mentioned this to Ibrahim, and he said, 'Abdullah said, and say, 'O Allah, bless my family and bless them for me. O Allah, provide me with sustenance from them and provide them with sustenance from me. O Allah, join us together in what is good and separate us if separation is better.'"
[Machine] I have married a woman and I am afraid of discord. He said, "If you bring her, pray two Rak'ahs and say, 'O Allah, bless me in my wife and bless them in me. O Allah, bring us together in what is good and separate us in what is good when we separate.'"
[Machine] To say that Allah has commanded or prohibited something, and then Allah says to him, "You have lied," or to say that Allah has made something forbidden and permissible something else, and then Allah says to him, "You have lied."
[Machine] "The one who maintains the prayer is like the one who knocks on the door, and whoever continues to knock on the door, it is almost certain that it will be opened for him."
[Machine] Abdullah said to his companion, "Indeed, when you are in prayer, you are knocking on the door of the King. And whoever knocks on the door of the King frequently, it is likely that it will be opened for him."
[Machine] "The virtue of the night prayer over the daytime prayer is like the virtue of secretly giving charity over making it public."
[Machine] "Abdullah said: The virtue of night prayer over day prayer is like the virtue of secret charity over public charity."
[Machine] Abdullah is the master of the months of Ramadan and the master of the day of Friday.
[Machine] Abdullah recited this verse, "The Day the earth will be replaced by another earth, as will be the heavens, and all creatures will come forth before Allah, the One, the Irresistible." He then said, "A piece of land will be brought forth like silver, untouched by bloodshed and unblemished by sin. The first judgment that will be passed among people on it will be regarding bloodshed."
[Machine] About Abdullah's statement "Indeed, Abraham was soft-hearted", he said "the soft-hearted refers to being merciful."
[Machine] "O Abu Abdurrahman, what is lamentation?" said Ar-Raheem. He replied, "What is extravagant?" He said, "What is wasteful expenditure." He then asked, "What is aid?" He replied, "What do people cooperate with each other in, meaning the difficulties."
[Machine] "The spending of money in an unlawful manner." And he asked him about the times, he said, "The Merciful (Allah)."
[Machine] To Abdullah, whom do we ask if we don't ask you? Abdullah's servant replied, "What a pity!" Abdullah said, "The Merciful." Abdullah asked, "Then what is the community?" The servant replied, "The one who knows what is good." Abdullah asked, "So what is the obedient one?" The servant said, "The one who is obedient." Abdullah asked, "Then what is the assistance?" The servant replied, "It is when people cooperate with each other." Abdullah then asked, "So what is wastefulness?" The servant replied, "It is spending money inappropriately."
[Machine] We, the companions of Muhammad ﷺ , used to talk about how the water container, the pot, and the axe are indispensable.
[Machine] In his saying, "Al-Ma'un", he said: "the axe, the pot, and the bucket."
[Machine] In his statement {§And they withhold assistance}, he said, "It is the wealth that is not given its right." I said, "Indeed, Ibn Mas'ud says, 'It is what people exchange amongst themselves of good deeds.'" He said, "That is what I am telling you."
During the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ we used to consider ma'un (this of daily use) lending a bucket and cooking-pot. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1657)
[Machine] In His saying, "Surely the hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of Hell," He said, "Coffins of iron will be sealed upon them."
[Machine] In his statement, "So we have a stable and a deposit," the stable refers to the mother's womb, while the deposit refers to the earth in which a person dies.
[Machine] "Abdullah is entrusted in the world and settled in the womb."
[Machine] In his statement, "and from the cattle as pack animals and bedding," he said, "The pack animals are what are carried by camels, and the bedding refers to the young ones."
[Machine] In his saying, "Do they wait except for the angels to come to them, or for your Lord to come, or for some signs of your Lord to come on the day when some signs of your Lord come? On that day, belief will not benefit a soul that did not believe before." He said, "The rising of the sun with the moon from its setting place is like the meeting of two companions."
[Machine] In His statement {On the day when some of the signs of your Lord will come, no soul's faith will benefit it}, He said, "The rising of the sun from its west."
[Machine] "In His saying, 'Therefore, it is no sin for them if they discard their outer clothing, not showing adornment.' He said, 'The outer garment.'"
[Machine] Regarding this verse, "{And never think of those who have been killed in the cause of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision}," it is narrated that the souls of the martyrs are like green birds, with lamps hanging from the Throne, roaming freely in Jannah wherever they wish. Allah then looks at them and says, "Do you desire anything so that I may increase it for you?" They reply, "Our Lord, are we not roaming freely in Jannah and have whatever we desire?" Allah does this thrice, and on the third time, they request for their souls to be returned to their bodies in order to fight in His cause and be killed again. Allah then remains silent regarding their request.
[Machine] "In His statement, 'Its fuel is people and stones,' He said, 'Stones made of sulfur that Allah ﷻ makes them as He wills and however He wills.'"
