[Machine] I heard Abdullah saying, "When one of you sits in prayer, let him say the greetings, then recite the Tashahhud, and then let him say, 'O Allah, I ask You for all the good that I know of and that I do not know of. And I seek refuge with You from all evil that I know of and that I do not know of. O Allah, I ask You for the good that Your righteous servants ask of You, and I seek refuge with You from the evil that Your righteous servants seek refuge from. Our Lord, give us goodness in this world and goodness in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire. Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us our sins and remove from us our misdeeds and cause us to die with the righteous. Our Lord, grant us what You promised us through Your messengers and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, You do not fail in Your promise."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us and said, "I have been commanded to recite to your brothers from the jinn. Let one of you stand with me, and no man should stay in his heart even the weight of a mustard-seed of arrogance." So I stood with him and took a container containing wine, then I went with him. When he appeared, he drew a line and said to me, "Do not go beyond this line, for if you go out, you will not see me and I will not see you until the Day of Resurrection." He said, "Then he went away from me until I could not see him. When dawn approached, he came and said to me, 'Are you standing?' I said, 'No, I did not sit.' He said, 'What if you did?' I said, 'I feared that I would go out.' He said, 'Indeed, if you had gone out, you would not have seen me and I would not have seen you until the Day of Resurrection. Do you have water?' I said, 'No.' He said, 'What is this container you have?' I said, 'It contains wine.' He said, 'A good date and pure water.' So he performed ablution and established the prayer. When he finished the prayer, two jinn men approached him and asked him for provisions. He said, 'Did I not command you and your people to do what is good for you?' They said, 'Yes, but we wanted to witness some of your prayer with you.' He asked, 'Who are you?' They said, 'We are from the people of two shares.' He said, 'These two are successful, and their people are successful.'" He ordered them to be given grass and bones as food, and the Prophet ﷺ forbade the use of bones or dung for cleansing.

[Machine] While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he was in a group of his companions, he said, "Let one man from among you stand with me, and let no man who has deceit in his heart stand with me, even to the weight of a mustard seed." So I stood with him and took the water container, thinking that it contained nothing but water. I went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until we reached the highest point of Makkah, and I saw a group of people gathered. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ drew a line for me and said, "Stay here until I come to you." So I stood there, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went to them. I saw them whispering to him, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ spent a long night with them until the morning came. He then asked me, "Have you been standing here, Ibn Mas'ood?" I said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah, didn't you tell me to stay until you come to me?" Then he said to me, "Do you have any water with you?" I said, "Yes." So I opened the water container and found that it was wine. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I swear by Allah, I took it and I thought it was nothing but water. And now I find that it is wine." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is a date and pure water." Then he performed ablution with it. When he stood to pray, two men came and said, "O Messenger of Allah, we would like you to lead us in prayer." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ made them stand behind him and led us in prayer. When he finished, I asked him, "Who are these people, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "They are jinn, and they asked me for food and I provided them with the remains they found, including barley and bones, which they found as provisions." At that point, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited using animal bones and barley as food.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ followed me one night to the valley of the jinn, so I went with him until we reached the highest point of Makkah. He drew a line for me and said, "Do not leave." Then he went obediently into the mountains, and I witnessed men descending upon him from the tops of the mountains until they surrounded me and him. I unsheathed my sword and said, "I will strike until I rescue the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." Then I remembered his words, "Do not leave until I come to you." So I remained in that state until dawn came. The Prophet ﷺ arrived while I was standing and asked, "Are you still in the same position?" I replied, "Even if I stayed here for a month, I would not leave until you come to me." Then I informed him of what I intended to do, and he said, "If you had gone, neither you nor I would have ever met until the Day of Judgment." Then he intertwined his fingers with mine and said, "I have been promised that the jinn and mankind will believe in me. As for mankind, they have believed in me, but as for the jinn, you have seen them." He said, "I do not think that the appointed time is far off." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, should I nominate Abu Bakr as your successor?" He turned away from me, and I saw that he did not agree. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, should I nominate Umar?" Again, he turned away from me, and I saw that he did not agree. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, should I nominate Ali?" He said, "That is the one, by the One other than whom there is no deity. If you pledge allegiance to him and obey him, he will admit you to Paradise."
