[Machine] Abdullah, Mu'adh was a devout nation. He said, "Verily, Ibrahim was a devout nation." He said, "We used to liken ourselves to him." He was asked about the nation, and he said, "Teaching goodness." He was asked about the devout, and he said, "Obedient to Allah and His Messenger."  

الطبراني:٩٩٤٦حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ وَبَيَانٍ أَوْ أَحَدِهِمَا قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الشَّعْبِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ قَالَ قَالَ

عَبْدُ اللهِ إِنَّ مُعَاذًا كَانَ أُمَّةً قَانِتًا فَقَالَ فَرْوَةُ غَلَطٌ {إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ كَانَ أُمَّةً قَانِتًا} فَقَالَ إِنَّا كُنَّا نُشَبِّهُ بِهِ وَسُئِلَ عَنِ الْأُمَّةِ فَقَالَ مُعَلِّمُ الْخَيْرِ وَسُئِلَ عَنِ الْقَانِتِ فَقَالَ مُطِيعٌ لِلَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ
