He used to sleep in the early part of the night, and woke up in the latter part. If he then wished intercourse with his wife, he satisfied his desire, and then went to sleep; and when the first call to prayer was made he jumped up (by Allah, she, i. e. 'A'isha, did not say" he stood up" ), and poured water over him (by Allah she, i. e. 'A'isha, did not say that he took a bath but I know what she meant) and if he did not have an intercourse, he performed ablution, just as a man performs ablution for prayer and then observed two rak'ahs.
[Machine] About the salah (prayer) of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said: I asked, "Was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ accustomed to sleeping at the beginning of the night and waking up at the end of it?" He replied, "Yes." When he woke up, he would perform ablution and pray the portion of salah that Allah had obligated upon him. If he had a need to attend to his family, he would go to them, and if not, he would go back to his bed. If he went to his family, he would sleep in whatever state he was in, without touching water, until when the first athan (call to prayer) was given, he would wake up. By Allah, he would not say, "He woke up", but rather, "He stood up." And if he was in a state of sexual impurity (junub), he would pour water over himself. By Allah, he would not say, "He washed himself", but rather, "He poured water over himself." Otherwise, he would perform ablution and then pray two units of prayer (rakatayn), and then he would go out to the masjid.

[Machine] Regarding the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , she said: He used to sleep at the beginning of the night and wake up at the end of it, and sometimes he needed to be with his family. Then he would sleep before touching water. When the first call to prayer was made, he would quickly respond, and she said: He would stand up and the water would be poured over him, and she said: He did not say that he washed, and I know what he intended. And if he was not in a state of janabah (major ritual impurity), he would perform wudu (ablution) for the prayer, just like a man does for prayer.
