We were in the company of 'Aishah. When her food was brought in, al-Qasim stood up to say his prayer. Thereupon , 'Aishah said : I heard the Messenger of Allaah (sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam) say: Prayer should not be offered in presence of meals, nor at the moment when one is struggling with two evils (e.g. when one is feeling the call of nature.)

كُنَّا عِنْدَ عَائِشَةَ فَجِيءَ بِطَعَامِهَا فَقَامَ الْقَاسِمُ يُصَلِّي فَقَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لاَ يُصَلَّى بِحَضْرَةِ الطَّعَامِ وَلاَ وَهُوَ يُدَافِعُهُ الأَخْبَثَانِ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Prayer should not be conducted in the presence of food, nor while one is fending off the dirtiest things."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا يُصَلَّى بِحَضْرَةِ الطَّعَامِ وَلَا وَهُوَ يُدَافِعُهُ الْأَخْبَثَانِ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Prayer should not be performed in the presence of food, nor while the two dirtiest things (urine and feces) are present."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا يُصَلَّى بِحَضْرَةِ الطَّعَامِ وَلَا وَهُوَ يُدَافِعُهُ الْأَخْبَثَانِ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "None of you should pray while in the presence of food, nor while he is being repelled by the two impurities."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يُصَلِّيَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ بِحَضْرَةِ الطَّعَامِ وَلَا وَهُوَ يُدَافِعُهُ الْأَخْبَثَانِ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, say: "One should not pray in the presence of food, nor while he is defending the two things that invalidates the prayer."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يُصَلَّى بِحَضْرَةِ الطَّعَامِ وَلَا هُوَ يُدَافِعُ الْأَخْبَثَانِ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "None of you should stand up for prayer while he is in the presence of food, nor when he needs to relieve himself, as urine and faeces are rejected by angels."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يَقُومُ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَهُوَ بِحَضْرَةِ الطَّعَامِ وَلَا هُوَ يُدَافِعُهُ الْأَخْبَثَانِ الْغَائِطُ وَالْبَوْلُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "None of you should pray while he is in the presence of food, nor while he is warding off the two impurities."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يُصَلِّيَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ وَهُوَ بِحَضْرَةِ الطَّعَامِ وَلَا وَهُوَ يُدَافِعُ الْأَخْبَثَيْنِ

"لا يُصَلِّ أحَدُكُمْ وَهُوَ يُدَافِعُهُ الأخْبَثَانِ".

"لا يُصَلِّ بِحَضْرَةِ الطِّعَام، وَلا وَهُوَ يُدَافِعُ الأخْبَثَينِ".

"لا يَقُومُ أحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الصَّلاةِ وَهُوَ بِحَضْرَةِ الطَّعَام، وَلا وَهُوَ يُدَافِعُهُ الأخْبَثَانِ: الغائِطُ وَالبَوْلُ".
