Ibn ʿAbbas wrote that the Prophet ﷺ gave his verdict on the basis of the defendant's oath.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَضَى بِالْيَمِينِ عَلَى الْمُدَّعَى عَلَيْهِ  

bukhari:2514 – Khalāad b. Yaḥyá > Nāfiʿ b. ʿUmar > Ibn Abū Mulaykah > Katabt > Ibn ʿAbbās Fakatab Ila

I wrote a letter to Ibn ʿAbbas and he wrote to me that the Prophet ﷺ had given the verdict that the defendant had to take an oath.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَضَى أَنَّ الْيَمِينَ عَلَى الْمُدَّعَى عَلَيْهِ  

muslim:1711b – Abū Bakr b. Abū Shaybah > Muḥammad b. Bishr > Nāfiʿ b. ʿUmar > Ibn Abū Mulaykah > Ibn ʿAbbās

Ibn 'Abbas reported that Messenger of Allah ﷺ pronounced judgment on the basis of oath by the defendant.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَضَى بِالْيَمِينِ عَلَى الْمُدَّعَى عَلَيْهِ  

abudawud:3619 – ʿAbdullāh b. Maslamah al-Qaʿnabī > Nāfiʿ b. ʿUmar > Ibn Abū Mulaykah > Katab Ila Ibn ʿAbbās

Ibn ‘Abbas wrote to me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺhad defendant should take an oath.  

أبو داود:٣٦١٩ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ الْقَعْنَبِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا نَافِعُ بْنُ عُمَرَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ قَالَ كَتَبَ إِلَىَّ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَضَى بِالْيَمِينِ عَلَى الْمُدَّعَى عَلَيْهِ  

tirmidhi:1342 – Muḥammad b. Sahl b. ʿAskar al-Baghdādī > Muḥammad b. Yūsuf > Nāfiʿ b. ʿUmar al-Jumaḥī > ʿAbdullāh b. Abū Mulaykah > Ibn ʿAbbās

Ibn 'Abbas narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ judged that the oath is due from the one the claim is made against.  

الترمذي:١٣٤٢ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَهْلِ بْنِ عَسْكَرٍ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَنَا نَافِعُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْجُمَحِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَضَى أَنَّ الْيَمِينَ عَلَى الْمُدَّعَى عَلَيْهِ
