I wrote a letter to Ibn ʿAbbas and he wrote to me that the Prophet ﷺ had given the verdict that the defendant had to take an oath.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَضَى أَنَّ الْيَمِينَ عَلَى الْمُدَّعَى عَلَيْهِ

Ibn ʿAbbas wrote that the Prophet ﷺ gave his verdict on the basis of the defendant's oath.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَضَى بِالْيَمِينِ عَلَى الْمُدَّعَى عَلَيْهِ

Ibn 'Abbas reported that Messenger of Allah ﷺ pronounced judgment on the basis of an oath and a witness (by the plaintiff).

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَضَى بِيَمِينٍ وَشَاهِدٍ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave a decision on the basis of an oath and a single witness.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَضَى بِيَمِينٍ وَشَاهِدٍ

The Prophet ﷺ gave a decision on the basis of an oath and a single witness. Abu Dawud said: Al-Rabi' bin Sulaiman al-Mu'adhdhin told me some additional words in this tradition: Al-Shafi'i told me from 'Abd al-'Aziz. I then mentioned it fo Suhail who said: Rabi'ah told me - and he is reliable in my opinion - that I told him this (tradition) and I do not remember it. 'Abd al-'Aziz said: Suhail suffered from some disease which caused him to lose a little of his intelligence, and he forgot some of his traditions. Thereafter Suhail would narrate traditions from Rabi'ah on the authority of his father.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَضَى بِالْيَمِينِ مَعَ الشَّاهِدِ

Ibn ‘Abbas wrote to me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺhad defendant should take an oath.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَضَى بِالْيَمِينِ عَلَى الْمُدَّعَى عَلَيْهِ

Ibn 'Abbas narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ judged that the oath is due from the one the claim is made against.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَضَى أَنَّ الْيَمِينَ عَلَى الْمُدَّعَى عَلَيْهِ

"The Prophet ﷺ passed judgement based on oath along with a witness."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَضَى بِالْيَمِينِ مَعَ الشَّاهِدِ

the Messenger of Allah ruled that the child belonged to the bed.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَضَى بِالْوَلَدِ لِلْفِرَاشِ

the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed judgment on the basis of an oath (from the claimant) along with a (single) witness. [This is in the absence of two witnesses.]

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَضَى بِالْيَمِينِ مَعَ الشَّاهِدِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The accused has the right of precedence with the right hand."

[AI] The translation of "أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مِثْلَهُ" into English is: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said something similar."

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said the likes of it."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مِثْلَهُ

Yahya said, "Malik said from Jafar ibn Muhammad from his father that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pronounced judgement on the basis of an oath with one witness."

From Malik from Abu'z-Zinad that Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz wrote to Abd al-Hamid ibn Abd ar-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn al-Khattab who was the governor of Kufa, "Pronounce judgement on the basis of an oath with one witness."

أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ كَتَبَ إِلَى عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ وَهُوَ عَامِلٌ عَلَى الْكُوفَةِ أَنِ اقْضِ بِالْيَمِينِ مَعَ الشَّاهِدِ

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَضَى بِالسَّلَبِ لِلْقَاتِلِ»

أَنْ «يَقْضِيَ بِالْيَمِينِ مَعَ الشَّاهِدِ»

It was narrated from Zaid bin Thabit that the Prophet ruled that 'Umra (a gift given for life) belongs to the heir. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3722)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «قَضَى بِالْعُمْرَى لِلْوَارِثِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , ruled with the witness and oath.

[AI] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordained with an oath, along with a witness, and it was narrated from another perspective from Abu Hurairah.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَضَى بِالْيَمِينِ مَعَ الشَّاهِدِ وَرُوِيَ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَضَى بِالْيَمِينِ مَعَ الشَّاهِدِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled in favor of the defendant according to the oath.

رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَضَى بِالْيَمِينِ عَلَى الْمُدَّعَى عَلَيْهِ

[AI] That the Prophet ﷺ said: "The one who is accused is more deserving of the right-hand testimony than the one who has not been presented with clear evidence."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ الْمُدَّعَى عَلَيْهِ أَوْلَى بِالْيَمِينِ مِمَّنْ لَمْ تَقُمْ لَهُ بَيِّنَةٌ

"المُدَّعَى عليه أوْلَى باليمين إِذا لم يَكُنْ بيِّنةٌ".

"المُدعَى عليه أوْلَى باليمينِ ممن لم تَقم له بيِّنة".

"قَضَى أَنَّ الْيَمِينَ عَلَى الْمُدَّعَى عَلَيهِ".

"قَضَى بِالْيَمِينِ مَعَ الشَّاهِدِ الْوَاحِدِ".

"عن ابن المُسَيَّب قَال: قَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِالْيَمين مَعَ الشَّاهِدِ".

"عَنِ الْحُسَينِ بْنِ عَلَىٍّ قَالَ: قَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِالْيَمِينِ مَعَ الشَّاهِدِ".
