A man came to the prophet ﷺ and said : Messenger of Allah ! I have committed a crime which involves prescribed punishment so inflict it on me . He said : Have you not performed ablution when you came? He said : Yes, He said: Have you not prayed with us when we prayed ? He said : Yes .He then said : Go off, for Allah, the Exalted, forgave you.

أَنَّ رَجُلاً أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَىَّ قَالَ تَوَضَّأْتَ حِينَ أَقْبَلْتَ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ هَلْ صَلَّيْتَ مَعَنَا حِينَ صَلَّيْنَا قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ اذْهَبْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى قَدْ عَفَا عَنْكَ

[AI] A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed a sin, so please establish the punishment upon me." He turned away from him. Then he said again, "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed a sin, so please establish the punishment upon me." Again, he turned away from him. Then the prayer was performed, and when he finished, he said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed a sin, so please establish the punishment upon me." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Did you perform ablution when you came?" He said, "Yes." He asked, "Did you pray with us?" He said, "Yes." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Then go, for surely Allah has forgiven you."

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ قَالَ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «هَلْ تَوَضَّأْتَ حِينَ أَقْبَلْتَ؟ » قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «صَلَّيْتَ مَعَنَا؟ » قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَاذْهَبْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ غَفَرَ لَكَ»

[AI] A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed a sin, so establish the punishment on me." The Prophet ﷺ turned him away twice, and then the prayer was established. When the prayer ended, he said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed a sin, so establish the punishment on me." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Did you perform ablution when you came?" He replied, "Yes." He said, "And did you pray with us?" He replied, "Yes." He said, "Then go, for Allah has forgiven you."

Then, when the prayer was established and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished, the man said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed a sin, so establish the punishment on me." The Messenger asked him, "Did you perform ablution when you came?" The man replied, "Yes." The Messenger then asked him, "Did you pray with us when we prayed?" The man replied, "Yes." The Messenger then said, "Go, for Allah has forgiven you."
