Peace be upon you, abode of a people who are believers. What you were promised would come to you tomorrow, you receiving it after some delay; and God willing we shall join you. O Allah, grant forgiveness to the inhabitants of Baqi' al-Gharqad. Qutaiba did not mention his words:" would come to you".

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ كُلَّمَا كَانَ لَيْلَتُهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ إِلَى الْبَقِيعِ فَيَقُولُ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ دَارَ قَوْمٍ مُؤْمِنِينَ وَأَتَاكُمْ مَا تُوعَدُونَ غَدًا مُؤَجَّلُونَ وَإِنَّا إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ بِكُمْ لاَحِقُونَ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لأَهْلِ بَقِيعِ الْغَرْقَدِ وَلَمْ يُقِمْ قُتَيْبَةُ قَوْلَهُ وَأَتَاكُمْ

every time it was her night for the Messenger of Allah to stay with her, he would go out at the end of the night to Al-Baqi' and say: "As-salamu 'alaykum dara qawmin mu'minin, wa inna wa iyyakum mutawa'idun ghadan wa mutawakilun, wa inna in sha' Allahu bikum lahiqun. Allahummaghfir li ahli baqi'il gharaqad. (Peace be upon you, O abode of believing people. You and we used to remind one another about the Day of Resurrection and we are relying on one another (with regard to intercession and bearing witness). Soon we will join you, if Allah willing. O Allah, forgive the people of Baqi' Al-Charqad.)"

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to leave when it was the night of Aisha, when two-thirds of the night had passed, to go to Al-Baqi' and say, "Peace be upon you, people of a believing household. Indeed, we and you are destined for tomorrow, but we would catch up." Abu 'Aamir said, "You are not catching up, but indeed, with the will of Allah, we will catch up with you."

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , used to go out to Al-Baqi' every night, from the end of the night, and say, "Peace be upon you, O dwelling place of believing people. You will receive what you have been promised tomorrow, postponed. And indeed, if Allah wills, we will be joining you. O Allah, forgive the people of Al-Baqi' Al-Gharqad." Abu Abdullah Al-Hafiz informed us that Abu Al-Walid informed me, narrating from Hameed ibn Shuayb, from Yahya ibn Ayyub, from Ismail ibn Jafar, he said, Abu Al-Walid also informed me that I am Al-Hasan ibn Sufyan, narrating from Qutaybah ibn Saeed, narrating from Ismail, and he mentioned it.
