[Machine] We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey and we halted at a station. The people were affected by fog, so I took a lizard from it and grilled it. Then I brought it to the Prophet ﷺ, and he took a stick and counted with his fingers, then he said, "Indeed, a nation from the children of Israel were transformed into animals on the earth, and I do not know which animals they were." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, the people have already eaten from it." He said, "So, he did not command them to eat it nor did he forbid it." Abu Dawood Sulaiman ibn Saif narrated to us, Mohammed ibn Sulaiman Al-Harrani narrated to us, Abu Jafar Ar-Razi informed us, from Husayn ibn Abdul Rahman, from Zaid ibn Wahb, from Thabit ibn Yazid ibn Wadi'ah Al-Ansari. He said, "We were with the Prophet ﷺ in the Battle of Khaybar, and we encountered fog, and then he mentioned the hadith."

"We were with the Prophet on a journey. We stopped to camp and the people caught some mastigures. I took a mastigure and grilled it, and brought it to the Prophet. He took a palm stalk, and started counting his fingers with it, and said: 'A nation from among the children of Israel was turned into beasts of the Earth, and I do not know what kind of animals they were, I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, the people have eaten some of them.' He did not tell them to eat it, and he did not forbid them from eating it."
