"The Messenger of Allah was wearing two Qitri garments which, if he sat and sweated, would become heavy (and uncomfortable). A Jewish man got some fabric from Ash-sham so I said: 'Why don't you send word to him to buy two garments from him, and pay him when things get easier?' So he sent word to him, but he said: 'I know what Muhammad wants; he wants to go away with my money and take them (the two garments).' The Messenger of Allah said; 'He is lying; he knows that I am one of the ones who fear Allah the most, and are most honest in fulfilling trusts.  

كَانَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بُرْدَيْنِ قِطْرِيَّيْنِ وَكَانَ إِذَا جَلَسَ فَعَرِقَ فِيهِمَا ثَقُلاَ عَلَيْهِ وَقَدِمَ لِفُلاَنٍ الْيَهُودِيِّ بَزٌّ مِنَ الشَّأْمِ فَقُلْتُ لَوْ أَرْسَلْتَ إِلَيْهِ فَاشْتَرَيْتَ مِنْهُ ثَوْبَيْنِ إِلَى الْمَيْسَرَةِ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ مَا يُرِيدُ مُحَمَّدٌ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ بِمَالِي أَوْ يَذْهَبَ بِهِمَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَذَبَ قَدْ عَلِمَ أَنِّي مِنْ أَتْقَاهُمْ لِلَّهِ وَآدَاهُمْ لِلأَمَانَةِ  

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was wearing two thick Qitri garments on. When he would sit, he would sweat since they were so heavy for him. Some clothes arrived from Ash-Sham for so-and-so, the Jew. I said: 'Perhaps you could dispatch a request to him to buy some garments (on credit) from him until it is easy (to pay). So he sent a message to him and he said: 'I know what he wants. He only wants to take away my wealth' or 'my Dirham.' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'He has lied, indeed he knows that I am the one with the most Taqwa among them, and the best at fulfilling trusts among them.'" كَانَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ ثَوْبَانِ قِطْرِيَّانِ غَلِيظَانِ فَكَانَ إِذَا قَعَدَ فَعَرِقَ ثَقُلاَ عَلَيْهِ فَقَدِمَ بَزٌّ مِنَ الشَّامِ لِفُلاَنٍ الْيَهُودِيِّ فَقُلْتُ لَوْ بَعَثْتَ إِلَيْهِ فَاشْتَرَيْتَ مِنْهُ ثَوْبَيْنِ إِلَى الْمَيْسَرَةِ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ مَا يُرِيدُ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ بِمَالِي أَوْ بِدَرَاهِمِي فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَذَبَ قَدْ عَلِمَ أَنِّي مِنْ أَتْقَاهُمْ لِلَّهِ وَآدَاهُمْ لِلأَمَانَةِ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَأَنَسٍ وَأَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ يَزِيدَ  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ had two coarse, rough patches on his body. Aisha said, "O Messenger of Allah, these two patches on your clothing are coarse and rough; they weigh heavily on you. Send a message to Fulan. He has brought a garment from Sham (the Levant), therefore buy two garments from him and send them to Maysarah (a companion of the Prophet). The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a message to Maysarah, who came to him and said, "The Messenger of Allah has sent me to you to sell him two garments to be sent to Maysarah." Maysarah replied, "I know, by Allah, what the Messenger of Allah wants. He wants to take away my garment or to delay my payment for them." Maysarah returned to the Messenger of Allah and informed him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "He is lying. They know that I uphold their rights for the sake of Allah and fulfill their trust."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ عَلَيْهِ بُرْدَانِ قَطَرِيَّانِ خَشِنَانِ غَلِيظَانِ فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ ثَوْبَيْكَ هَذَيْنِ غَلِيظَانِ خَشِنَانِ؛ تَوَشَّحُ فِيهِمَا فَيَثْقُلَانِ عَلَيْكَ فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَى فُلَانٍ؛ فَقَدْ أَتَاهُ بَزٌّ مِنَ الشَّامِ فَاشْتَرِ مِنْهُ ثَوْبَيْنِ إِلَى مَيْسَرَةٍ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ فَأَتَاهُ الرَّسُولُ فَقَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيْكَ أَنْ تَبِيعَهُ ثَوْبَيْنِ إِلَى مَيْسَرَةٍ فَقَالَ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ وَاللَّهِ مَا يُرِيدُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ؛ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ بِثَوْبِي أَوْ يَمْطِلَنِي بِثَمَنِهِمَا فَرَجَعَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرَهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «كَذَبَ قَدْ عَلِمُوا أَنِّي أَتْقَاهُمْ لِلَّهِ وَآدَاهُمْ لِلْأَمَانَةِ»  

"عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالتْ: كَانَ [عَلَى] رَسُولِ الله ﷺ بُرْدَان [قِطْرِيَّانِ] غَلِيظَانِ، فَكَانَ إِذَا قَعَدَ فِيهِمَا [عرف ثقلا] عَلَيْهِ، وَقَدِمَ فُلَانٌ اليَهُودِيُّ [بِبَزٍّ] مِنَ [الشَّامِ] فَقَالَتْ عائِشَةُ: لَوْ بَعْثَتَ إِلَيْهِ فَاشْتَرَيْتَ مِنْهُ ثَوْبَيْنِ إِلَى المَيْسَرَةِ، فَبَعَثَ إِلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ: قَدْ عَلِمْتُ

مَا تُرِيدُ، إِنَّمَا تُرِيدُ أنْ تَذْهَبَ بِهِمَا أَوْ تَذْهَبَ بِمَالِي، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ : كَذَبَ، قَدْ عَلِمَ أَنِّي مِنْ أَتْقَاهُمْ للهِ، وَأَدَّاهُمْ لِلأَمَانَةِ".
