I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was facing the East, saying, "Verily! Afflictions are there, from where the side of the head of Satan comes out."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهْوَ مُسْتَقْبِلٌ الْمَشْرِقَ يَقُولُ أَلاَ إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَا هُنَا مِنْ حَيْثُ يَطْلُعُ قَرْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ

I saw Messenger of Allah ﷺ pointing towards the east saying, "Lo! Afflictions will verily emerge hence; afflictions will verily emerge hence where the (side of the head of) Satan appears."

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُشِيرُ إِلَى الْمَشْرِقِ فَقَالَ هَا إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَا هُنَا إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَا هُنَا مِنْ حَيْثُ يَطْلُعُ قَرْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the pulpit saying, "Verily, afflictions (will start) from here," pointing towards the east, "whence the side of the head of Satan comes out."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ وَهْوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ أَلاَ إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَا هُنَا يُشِيرُ إِلَى الْمَشْرِقِ مِنْ حَيْثُ يَطْلُعُ قَرْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ

that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say as he was facing East, "Behold, turmoil would appear from this side, from where the horns of Satan would appear."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ مُسْتَقْبِلُ الْمَشْرِقِ يَقُولُ أَلاَ إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَا هُنَا أَلاَ إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَا هُنَا مِنْ حَيْثُ يَطْلُعُ قَرْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ

The turmoil would appear from this side; verily, the turmoil would appear from this side; verily, the turmoil would appear from this side - the side where appear the horns of Satan.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ وَهُوَ مُسْتَقْبِلُ الْمَشْرِقِ هَا إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَا هُنَا هَا إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَا هُنَا هَا إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَا هُنَا مِنْ حَيْثُ يَطْلُعُ قَرْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying while pointing his hands towards the east: The turmoil would appear from this side; verily, the turmoil would appear from this side (he repeated it thrice) where appear the horns of Satan.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُشِيرُ بِيَدِهِ نَحْوَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَيَقُولُ هَا إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَا هُنَا هَا إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَا هُنَا ثَلاَثًا حَيْثُ يَطْلُعُ قَرْنَا الشَّيْطَانِ

Malik related to me from Abdullah ibn Dinar that Abdullah ibn Umar said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pointing at the east and saying, 'The cause of dissension is here. The cause of dissension is here, from where the helpers of shaytan arise.' "

أَنَّهُ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُشِيرُ إِلَى الْمَشْرِقِ وَيَقُولُ هَا إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَا هُنَا إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَا هُنَا مِنْ حَيْثُ يَطْلُعُ قَرْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying while pointing his hands towards the east: The turmoil would appear from this side; verily, the turmoil would appear from this side (he repeated it thrice) where appear the horns of Satan. (Using translation from Muslim 2905e)

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُشِيرُ إِلَى الْمَشْرِقِ وَيَقُولُ هَا إِنَّ الْفِتَنَ هَاهُنَا إِنَّ الْفِتَنَ هَاهُنَا حَيْثُ يَطْلُعُ قَرْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ

[Machine] I heard Abdullah ibn Umar say, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pointing towards the east, or he said, 'Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is pointing towards the east,' and saying, 'Here, indeed, is the Fitnah (trial and tribulation). Here, indeed, is the Fitnah. Here, indeed, is the Fitnah from where the horn of Satan will rise.'"

سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُشِيرُ إِلَى الْمَشْرِقِ أَوْ قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُشِيرُ إِلَى الْمَشْرِقِ يَقُولُ ها إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَاهُنَا هَا إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَاهُنَا هَا إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَاهُنَا مِنْ حَيْثُ يُطْلِعُ الشَّيْطَانُ قَرْنَيْهِ

Behold, turmoil would appear from this side, from where the horns of Satan would appear. (Using translation from Muslim 2905a)

أَنَّهُ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُشِيرُ نَحْوَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَيَقُولُ «هَا إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَاهُنَا إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَاهُنَا مِنْ حَيْثُ يَطْلُعُ قَرْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ»

عَلَيه وَسَلَّم أَوْمَأَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى الْمَشْرِقِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَاهُنا أَوْ مِنْ هَاهُنا مِنْ حَيْثُ يَطْلُعُ قَرْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ

"أَلَا إِنَّ الفتنة هَهُنَا يُشِير إِلَىِ المَشْرِقِ مِنْ حَيْثُ يَطْلعُ قَرنُ الشَّيْطَانِ".
