3. Book of Purification (3/12)
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took a bath and offered two rak'ahs of prayer and said the dawn prayer. I do not think he performed ablution afresh after taking a bath. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 250)
[Machine] The translation of the given Arabic text is: "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to not perform ablution (wudhu) after performing a full bath (ghusl), and there is an authentic narration (hadith) from Ibn Umar supporting this."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ was asked about performing ablution after washing, so he replied, "And which ablution is superior to washing?"
[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ used to warm himself with it after performing ablution."
[Machine] "Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ had a piece of cloth that he would use to dry himself after performing ablution. Abu Mu'adh, who is Fadl ibn Maysarah Basri, narrated this hadith that was also narrated by Yahya ibn Sa'id, who praised him. This hadith has been narrated from Anas ibn Malik and others, but they did not include it."
[Machine] From Jabir, "Authentic according to the condition of Muslim" according to the condition of Al-Bukhari.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited us from turning our backs to the Qibla or facing it with our private parts exposed when we urinate. However, we saw him do this before his death while facing the Qibla.
[Machine] The following translation from Arabic to English is: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The price of a dog is impure, and it is even more impure than it."
[Machine] From the messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, on this verse: {In it are men who love to purify themselves. And Allah loves those who purify themselves.} [Surah At-Tawbah: 108], the messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "O Ansar! Indeed, Allah has praised you for the goodness in purity. What is your purification?" They said, "O messenger of Allah, we perform ablution for prayer and purify ourselves from janabah (state of impurity after sexual intercourse)." The messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "Is there anything else besides that?" They said, "No, except that when one of us goes to the restroom, he prefers to cleanse himself with water." He said, "That is it."
[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ said to the people of Quba': 'Indeed, Allah has praised you for your cleanliness.' And He said, 'In it are men who love to purify themselves' (Quran 9:108) until the verse was completed. Then he asked them, 'What is this purification?'"
[Machine] Abdullah ibn Hanzala ibn Abi Amer Al-Ghasil has narrated it.
[Machine] We went with the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم on the expedition of Dhat al-Riqa'a from a place full of palm trees. One of the Muslims happened to approach a woman from the polytheists and took her, then when the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم left with the caravan, he went to her husband who was absent. When he was informed of the news, he swore not to stop shedding the blood of the companions of the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم until it settled in his heart. He then went to follow the traces of the Messenger of Allah The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم stopped at a place and said, "Who will guard us tonight?" A man from the Emigrants and a man from the Helpers came forward and said, "We will, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Then be at the mouth of the valley." The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم and his companions had settled at the valley. When the two men reached the mouth of the valley, the Helper asked the Emigrant, "Which part of the night do you prefer for me to guard?" He said, "I prefer you to guard the first part." So the Emigrant rested, and the Helper started to pray. Then the husband of the woman came, and when he saw a person, he recognized him as the lord of his people, so he shot an arrow at him. The Helper withdrew the arrow and put it in himself, and he remained standing in prayer. Then the husband tried to shoot the Helper with another arrow, but the Helper withdrew it and put it in himself, and he remained standing in prayer. Then he tried for the third time, but this time the Helper allowed it to hit him, then he performed a prostration and alerted his companion, saying, "Sit down, I have established myself." He then jumped up, and when the man saw them, he realized that he had made a vow regarding them, so he ran away. When the Emigrant saw the blood on the Helper from the injuries inflicted by the arrows, he said, "Glory be to Allah! Why didn't you call me when he first shot you?" The Helper replied, "I was in the middle of reciting a surah and I did not want to interrupt it until I completed it. When he continued to shoot me, I performed a prostration and warned you. By Allah, if it were not for the order of the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم to protect him, my life would have been cut off before I finished reciting the surah or performed the prostration."

[Machine] Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade two men from conversing with each other, for Allah hates that.

[Machine] "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the two men who had contracted diarrhea from speaking and he said, 'Indeed, Allah dislikes that.' This is 'Uyayd ibn Hilal Al-Ansari, a well-known scholar from the Tabi'in (followers of the Prophet's companions), from the people of Madinah, and he participated in the Battle of Yamamah. And this is mentioned in a valid (authentic) narration." (Sahih)
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Two men should not go out to relieve themselves, exposing their private parts to one another, for surely Allah dislikes that."
[Machine] "Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ said, 'When any one of you performs wudu, let him perform an odd number of units (of prayer) as Allah is odd and He loves that which is odd. Have you not seen that the heavens are seven and the earths are seven and tawaf is seven?' And he mentioned other things."

[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to get up from relieving himself, he would say, "I seek Your forgiveness."
One of the wives of the Prophet took a bath to cleanse herself from sexual impurity, then the Prophet performed ablution and had a bath with the water left over from her ablution." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 371)
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ wanted to perform ablution from a container, so one of his wives said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have already performed ablution from this." So the Prophet ﷺ performed ablution and said, "Nothing makes the water impure." Al-Bukhari cited the hadith of Ikrimah as evidence, and Muslim cited the hadith of Simak ibn Harb as evidence.

[Machine] Omar, we went to Tabuk during extreme heat. We found a place where we felt extremely thirsty to the point that we thought our necks would be severed. People would slaughter their camels for their milk and drink it, and use their intestines to store any remaining liquid. Abu Bakr As-Siddiq said to the Prophet, "O Messenger of Allah, Allah has accustomed you to good supplication, so please make supplication for rain." The Prophet asked, "Do you like that?" Abu Bakr replied, "Yes." So the Prophet raised his hands and did not put them down until the sky became shaded and then poured rain. They filled what they had with them, and then we looked and did not find a single trace of it, except that the army continued its journey.

Kabshah, daughter of Ka'b ibn Malik and wife of Ibn AbuQatadah, reported: AbuQatadah visited (me) and I poured out water for him for ablution. A cat came and drank some of it and he tilted the vessel for it until it drank some of it. Kabshah said: He saw me looking at him; he asked me: Are you surprised, my niece? I said: Yes. He then reported the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: It is not unclean; it is one of those (males or females) who go round among you. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 75)

[Machine] Regarding Aisha, "And it was confirmed by the two sheiks as opposed to this, and they did not exclude it either." Authentic.
[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "The purification of the vessel of one of you, if it is licked by a dog, is to wash it seven times. The first time with dirt and the second time with cat."
Note: ﷺ is an honorific used in Islamic tradition after mentioning the name of the Prophet Muhammad to mean "peace be upon him".
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The purification of a vessel in which a dog has licked is to wash it seven times, the first of which is with dirt, and once or twice with sand." "This is a source of doubt."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Regarding a cat, once or twice." It means washing the vessel if a cat has touched it. "Ali ibn Nasr al-Jahdamy cured a soreness in explaining this statement."
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The purification of the utensil belonging to any one of you, after it is licked by a dog, lies in washing it seven times, using sand for the first time. (Using translation from Muslim 279d)
[Machine] Translation: Abu Hurairah narrated regarding a cat that licks inside a container, he said, "It should be washed once or twice." "The permissibility of reusing the container is established in Islamic Shariah based on the hadith of Malik ibn Anas regarding the purity of the cat, and Allah knows best."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ wanted to perform ablution using a water container, so he was told that it was dead (impure) water. He then said, "Its impurity will remove its impurities or filthiness."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, may peace be upon him, said, "A measure of water is sufficient for ablution, and a Sa' is sufficient for sexual impurity." A man said to him, "That is not enough for us, O Jabir." He replied, "It is enough for someone who is better than you and has more hair."
[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ was brought two-thirds of a bucket of water, so he performed ablution and began wiping his arms."
[Machine] "We used to perform ablution, both men and women, and wash our hands in a single vessel during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ."
[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "Verily, there is a devil for ablution called Al-Walahan, so beware of it and be cautious of the whisperings of water." "And he has another narrated witness that is more authentic than this."
Abdullah heard his son praying to Allah: O Allah, I ask Thee a white palace on the right of Paradise when I enter it. He said: O my son, ask Allah for Paradise and seek refuge in Him from Hell-Fire, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: In this community there will be some people who will exceed the limits in purification as well as in supplication. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 96)
[Machine] He (someone) heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Woe to the ankles and bellies of the feet from the Fire."
[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ forbade a man from entering the water except with a waist covering."
The Prophet ﷺ used to take a bath on account of sexual defilement, on Friday, for cupping and washing the dead. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3160)
[Machine] Fatimah entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while she was crying, so he said, "O my daughter, what makes you cry?" She said, "O father, why shouldn't I cry when those leaders of the Quraysh in the chamber are making a contract with Al-Lat, Al-Uzza, and Manat? If they saw you, they would stand up and kill you, and there is not one of them except that he knows his share of your blood." He said, "O my daughter, bring me water for ablution." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed ablution, then he went out to the mosque. When they saw him, they said, "There he is, so bow down." Their foreheads fell and their beards touched the ground, and they did not raise their eyes until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took a handful of dust and threw it at them, saying, "May their faces be disfigured." None of them was touched by a pebble from his handful except that he was killed on the Day of Badr as a disbeliever.

[Machine] "I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the early days of his prophethood in Makkah. He was at that time in a state of concealment. I asked him, 'Who are you?' He replied, 'I am a prophet.' I asked, 'What is a prophet?' He said, 'I am the Messenger of Allah.' I asked, 'Did Allah send you?' He replied, 'Yes.' I asked, 'With what did He send you?' He said, 'To worship Allah alone and to break idols and false religions, and to maintain family ties.' I said, 'Yes, indeed. What did He send you with?' I asked, 'Who follows you in this?' He said, 'Slave and free, meaning Abu Bakr and Bilal.' Umar used to say, 'I was a quarter or a fourth of Islam when I accepted Islam.' I said, 'Shall I follow you, O Messenger of Allah?' He said, 'No, but the truth will come to your people. When you hear that I have left, follow me.' So, I caught up with my people and I anticipated his news of departure and arrival until a group from Yathrib (Madina) came and I met them. I asked them about the news and they said, 'The Messenger of Allah has left Makkah for Madina.' I asked, 'Has he arrived there?' They replied, 'Yes.' I then proceeded until I reached him. I said, 'Do you recognize me, O Messenger of Allah?' He said, 'Yes, you are the man who came to me in Makkah.' I began to observe his seclusion and when he was alone, I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, teach me about what Allah has taught you and make it concise.' He said, 'Ask me about anything.' I said, 'During which part of the night should I perform the night prayer?' He replied, 'The last part of the night. And pray as much as you wish because the prayer is witnessed and recorded until you pray the dawn prayer. Then shorten your prayer until the sun rises and its rays are like the length of a spear or a pair of spears. Because at that time, the disbelievers prostrate to it. Then, pray as much as you wish, for the prayer is witnessed and recorded until the shadow of your spear becomes equal to its length. Then, shorten your prayer because Hellfire is kindled and its gates are opened. When the sun declines, pray as much as you wish, for the prayer is witnessed and recorded until you pray the afternoon prayer. Then, shorten your prayer until the sun sets, for it sets between the two horns of Satan and the disbelievers prostrate to it. When you perform ablution, wash your hands, for when you wash your hands, your sins leave from the sides of your arms. Then, when you wipe your head, your sins leave from the tips of your hair. And when you wash your feet, your sins leave from your feet. If you remain seated in your place, you will have a share of your ablution. If you stand up and remember your Lord and praise Him and perform two raka'ahs facing the Qiblah, with your heart, you will be free from your sins as on the day your mother gave birth to you.' I said, 'O Umar, I know what I am saying. You are saying something great.' He said, 'By Allah, my age has increased and my death is near, and I am not in need of lying. Even if I had heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ only once or twice, I would have conveyed it. But I have heard it more than that. This is how Abu Salamah narrated it from him, from Abu Umamah, except for any possible error or addition. And Muslim has recorded some of these words from the hadith of Nadr ibn Muhammad al-Jurashi, from Ikrimah ibn Ammar, from Shaddad ibn Abdullah, from Abu Umamah.' Umar ibn Abbas said, 'And the hadith of Abbas ibn Salim is more comprehensive and complete than the hadith of Ikrimah ibn Ammar.'"

[Machine] A man became unwell during winter, so he asked if he could perform ablution (washing). He then performed the ablution and passed away. The Prophet ﷺ was informed of this incident and he said, "Why did they kill him? Allah has killed them all."
