The Prophet ﷺ said, "None of you should fast ˹a voluntary fast˺ a day or two before the month of Ramadan unless he has the habit of fasting ˹such days voluntarily˺ then he may fast that day."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ: «لاَ يَتَقَدَّمَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ رَمَضَانَ بِصَوْمِ يَوْمٍ أَوْ يَوْمَيْنِ إِلاَّ أَنْ يَكُونَ رَجُلٌ كَانَ يَصُومُ صَوْمَهُ فَلْيَصُمْ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ۔»
Do not observe fast for a day, or two days ahead of Ramadan except a person who is in the habit of observing a particular fast; he may fast on that day.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ تَقَدَّمُوا رَمَضَانَ بِصَوْمِ يَوْمٍ وَلاَ يَوْمَيْنِ إِلاَّ رَجُلٌ كَانَ يَصُومُ صَوْمًا فَلْيَصُمْهُ
"Do not fast ahead of the month, except for a man who habitually fasts, and that day happenes to be one of his regular fasts." '
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ تَقَدَّمُوا قَبْلَ الشَّهْرِ بِصِيَامٍ إِلاَّ رَجُلٌ كَانَ يَصُومُ صِيَامًا أَتَى ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمُ عَلَى صِيَامِهِ
"None should fast one or two days ahead of the month except, someone who had a prior habit for fasting, in which case let him fast." '
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يَتَقَدَّمَنَّ أَحَدٌ الشَّهْرَ بِيَوْمٍ وَلاَ يَوْمَيْنِ إِلاَّ أَحَدٌ كَانَ يَصُومُ صِيَامًا قَبْلَهُ فَلْيَصُمْهُ
"Do not fast one or two days ahead of the month, unless the one who used to observe a regular fast. In that case let him fast." '
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ أَلاَ لاَ تَقَدَّمُوا الشَّهْرَ بِيَوْمٍ أَوِ اثْنَيْنِ إِلاَّ رَجُلٌ كَانَ يَصُومُ صِيَامًا فَلْيَصُمْهُ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Do not fast one day or two days just before Ramadan, except in the case of a man who has been in the habit of observing the particular fast, for he may fast on that day.
