None among you should prevent his neighbour from fixing a beam in his wall. Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) then said: What is this that I see you evading (this injunction of the Holy Prophet)? By Allah, I will certainly throw it between your shoulders (narrate this to you.)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يَمْنَعْ أَحَدُكُمْ جَارَهُ أَنْ يَغْرِزَ خَشَبَةً فِي جِدَارِهِ قَالَ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ وَاللَّهِ لأَرْمِيَنَّ بِهَا بَيْنَ أَكْتَافِكُمْ

“I heard him saying: ‘the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “When one of you seeks his neighbor’s permission to affix a wooden beam in his wall, then do not prevent him."' When Abu Hurairah narrated it, they tilted their heads, so he said: ‘Why do I see that you are averse to it? By Allah! I will continue to narrate it among you.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا اسْتَأْذَنَ أَحَدَكُمْ جَارُهُ أَنْ يَغْرِزَ خَشَبَةً فِي جِدَارِهِ فَلاَ يَمْنَعْهُ فَلَمَّا حَدَّثَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ طَأْطَئُوا رُءُوسَهُمْ فَقَالَ مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ وَاللَّهِ لأَرْمِيَنَّ بِهَا بَيْنَ أَكْتَافِكُمْ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَمُجَمِّعِ بْنِ جَارِيَةَ

“The Prophet ﷺ: 'When anyone of you asks his neighbor for permission to fix a piece of wood to his wall, he should not refuse him. 'When Abu Hurairah told them this, they lowered their heads, and when he saw them he said: 'Why do I see you turning away from it? By Allah, I will force you to accept it.' ”

النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا اسْتَأْذَنَ أَحَدَكُمْ جَارُهُ أَنْ يَغْرِزَ خَشَبَةً فِي جِدَارِهِ فَلاَ يَمْنَعْهُ فَلَمَّا حَدَّثَهُمْ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ طَأْطَئُوا رُءُوسَهُمْ فَلَمَّا رَآهُمْ قَالَ مَالِي أَرَاكُمْ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ وَاللَّهِ لأَرْمِيَنَّ بِهَا بَيْنَ أَكْتَافِكُمْ

Malik related to me from Ibn Shihab from al-Araj from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No one should prevent his neighbour from fixing a wooden peg in his wall." Then Abu Hurayra said, "Why do I see you turning away from it? By Allah! I shall keep on at you about it."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يَمْنَعُ أَحَدُكُمْ جَارَهُ خَشَبَةً يَغْرِزُهَا فى جِدَارِهِ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ وَاللَّهِ لأَرْمِيَنَّ بِهَا بَيْنَ أَكْتَافِكُمْ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "It is not permissible for any of you to prevent his neighbor from placing a piece of wood on his wall, and then he says, 'Abu Hurairah, what causes you to expose yourself? By Allah, I will throw it between you."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَمْنَعَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ جَارَهُ أَنْ يَضَعَ خَشَبَةً عَلَى جِدَارِهِ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ مَالِيأَرَاكُمْ مُعْرِضِينَ وَاللهِ لَأَرْمِيَنَّ بِهَا بَيْنَ أَكْتَافِكُمْ

“The Prophet ﷺ: 'When anyone of you asks his neighbor for permission to fix a piece of wood to his wall, he should not refuse him. 'When Abu Hurairah told them this, they lowered their heads, and when he saw them he said: 'Why do I see you turning away from it? عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِذَا اسْتَأْذَنَ أَحَدَكُمْ جَارُهُ أَنْ يَغْرِزَ خَشَبَةً فِي جِدَارِهِ فَلَا يَمْنَعْهُ فَلَمَّا حَدَّثَهُمْ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ طَأْطَئُوا رُءُوسَهُمْ فَقَالَ مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ مُعْرِضِينَ؟ وَاللهِ لَأَرْمِيَنَّ بِهَا بَيْنَ أَكْتَافِكُمْ

[Machine] "He (Abu Huraira) heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Whoever asks his neighbor to place a piece of wood in his wall and he does not prevent him, then Abu Huraira said, 'Why do I see you turning away from it? By Allah, I will pierce you with it between your shoulders.'"

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ سَأَلَهُ جَارَهُ أَنْ يَضَعَ خَشَبَةً فِي جِدَارِهِ فَلَا يَمْنَعْهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ وَاللهِ لَأَرْمِيَنَّ بِهَا بَيْنَ أَكْتَافِكُمْ

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Let none of you prevent his neighbor from driving a nail in his wall and then say: By Allah, I did not see you doing it."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَمْنَعُ أَحَدُكُمْ جَارَهُ أَنْ يَغْرِزَ خَشَبَةً فِي جِدَارِهِ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ؟ وَاللهِ لَأَرْمِيَنَّهَا بَيْنَ أَكْتَافِكُمْ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Let not anyone prevent his neighbor from placing a wooden plank on his wall, then Abu Hurairah said, 'Why do I not see you interested in it? By Allah, I will throw it between your shoulders.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَمْنَعَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ جَارَهُ أَنْ يَضَعَ خَشَبَةً عَلَى جِدَارِهِ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ مُعْرِضِينَ عَنْهَا؟ وَاللهِ لَأَرْمِيَنَّ بِهَا بَيْنَ أَكْتَافِكُمْ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Let none of you prevent his neighbor from placing a piece of wood in his wall, and then say, 'Abu Hurairah, why do I see you turning away from it?' By Allah, I will throw it among your chests, with a strong and authentic chain of narrators."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَمْنَعَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ جَارَهُ مَوْضِعَ خَشَبَةٍ أَنْ يَجْعَلَهَا فِي جِدَارِهِ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ؟ وَاللهِ لَأَرْمِيَنَّ بِهَا بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِكُمْ إِسْنَادٌ صَحِيحٌ

Abu Huraira said, "Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'No one should prevent his neighbor from fixing a wooden peg in his wall." Abu Huraira said (to his companions), "Why do I find you averse to it? By Allah, I certainly will narrate it to you." (Using translation from Bukhārī 2463)
