56. Jihạd (Fighting for the Cause of Allah)

56.50 Riding on an unmanageable animal or a stallion horse

٥٦۔٥٠ باب الرُّكُوبِ عَلَى الدَّابَّةِ الصَّعْبَةِ وَالْفُحُولَةِ مِنَ الْخَيْلِ

[Machine] And Rashid ibn Saad said, "The early generations used to prefer chivalry because it is more flowing and straight"

وَقَالَ رَاشِدُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ كَانَ السَّلَفُ يَسْتَحِبُّونَ الْفُحُولَةَ لأَنَّهَا أَجْرَى وَأَجْسَرُ.

bukhari:2862Aḥmad b. Muḥammad > ʿAbdullāh > Shuʿbah > Qatādah > Anas b. Mālik

There was a feeling of fright in Medina, so the Prophet ﷺ borrowed a horse called Mandub belonging 'to Abu Talha and mounted it. (On his return), he said, "I did not see anything of fright and I found this horse very fast."  

البخاري:٢٨٦٢حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ؓ قَالَ

كَانَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَزَعٌ فَاسْتَعَارَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَرَسًا لأَبِي طَلْحَةَ يُقَالُ لَهُ مَنْدُوبٌ فَرَكِبَهُ وَقَالَ مَا رَأَيْنَا مِنْ فَزَعٍ وَإِنْ وَجَدْنَاهُ لَبَحْرًا
