56. Jihạd (Fighting for the Cause of Allah)
٥٦۔ كتاب الجهاد والسير
The one who intends but is unable to do good deeds is rewarded the same as the one who is able
I heard Abu Burdah —he and Yazid b. Abu Kabshah were traveling together on a journey— and Yazid used to fast while traveling. Abu Burdah said to him: I heard Abu Musa say repeatedly that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “When a servant falls ill or travels, there is written for him the like of what he used to do when he was resident and healthy.”
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا بُرْدَةَ وَاصْطَحَبَ هُوَ وَيَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي كَبْشَةَ فِي سَفَرٍ فَكَانَ يَزِيدُ يَصُومُ فِي السَّفَرِ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبُو بُرْدَةَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا مُوسَى مِرَارًا يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «إِذَا مَرِضَ الْعَبْدُ أَوْ سَافَرَ كُتِبَ لَهُ مِثْلُ مَا كَانَ يَعْمَلُ مُقِيمًا صَحِيحًا»
