The Prophet ﷺ said, "A woman should not travel for more than three days except with a Dhi-Mahram (i.e. a male with whom she cannot marry at all, e.g. her brother, father, grandfather, etc.) or her own husband.)"

قُلْتُ لأَبِي أُسَامَةَ حَدَّثَكُمْ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ؓ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ تُسَافِرِ الْمَرْأَةُ ثَلاَثَةَ أَيَّامٍ إِلاَّ مَعَ ذِي مَحْرَمٍ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "A woman should not travel for more than three days except with a Dhi-Mahram."

The Messenger of Allah (SWAS) as saying : A muslim woman must not make a journey of a night unless she is accompanied by a man who is within the prohibited degrees.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ يَحِلُّ لاِمْرَأَةٍ مُسْلِمَةٍ تُسَافِرُ مَسِيرَةَ لَيْلَةٍ إِلاَّ وَمَعَهَا رَجُلٌ ذُو حُرْمَةٍ مِنْهَا

A woman who believes in Allah and the last Day must not make a journey of a day and a night. He then narrated the rest of the tradition to the same effect (as above). The narrator al-Nufaili said : Malik narrated us. Abu Dawud said : The narrators al-Nufail and al_Qa’nabi did not mention the words “from his father”. Ibn Wahb and ‘Uthman bin ‘Umr narrated from Malik the same words as narrated by al-Qa’nabi (i.e. omitted the words “from his father”).

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يَحِلُّ لاِمْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ أَنْ تُسَافِرَ يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ

A woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day must not make a journey of more than three days unless she is accompanied by her father or her brother, or her husband or her son or her relative who is within the prohibited degree.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ يَحِلُّ لاِمْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ أَنْ تُسَافِرَ سَفَرًا فَوْقَ ثَلاَثَةِ أَيَّامٍ فَصَاعِدًا إِلاَّ وَمَعَهَا أَبُوهَا أَوْ أَخُوهَا أَوْ زَوْجُهَا أَوِ ابْنُهَا أَوْ ذُو مَحْرَمٍ مِنْهَا

“A woman is not to travel the distance of a day and a night unless she is accompanied by someone who is a Mahram.”

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ تُسَافِرُ امْرَأَةٌ مَسِيرَةَ يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ إِلاَّ وَمَعَهَا ذُو مَحْرَمٍ

"It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to mourn for more than three days, except for her husband."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يَحِلُّ لاِمْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ أَنْ تَحِدَّ فَوْقَ ثَلاَثَةِ أَيَّامٍ إِلاَّ عَلَى زَوْجٍ

“It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to travel for more than one day’s distance without a Mahram.”

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يَحِلُّ لاِمْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ أَنْ تُسَافِرَ مَسِيرَةَ يَوْمٍ وَاحِدٍ لَيْسَ لَهَا ذُو حُرْمَةٍ

A woman must not make a journey of three days unless she is accompanied by a man who is within the prohibited degree. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1727)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَا تُسَافِرِ الْمَرْأَةُ ثَلَاثًا إِلَّا مَعَ ذِي مَحْرَمٍ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "O Muslim women, do not belittle your neighbor, even if she has a sheep or a goat. And it is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and His Messenger and the Last Day to travel the distance of one day without a mahram accompanying her."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَا نِسَاءَ الْمُسْلِمَاتِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ لَا تَحْقِرَنَّ جَارَةٌ لِجَارَتِهَا وَلَوْ فِرْسِنَ شَاةٍ وَلَا يَحِلُّ لِامْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ أَنْ تُسَافِرَ مَسِيرَةَ يَوْمٍ وَاحِدٍ لَيْسَ مَعَهَا ذُو مَحْرَمٍ

It is not permissible for a woman believing in Allah and the Hereafter to observe mourning on the dead for more than three (days), except in case of her husband. (Using translation from Muslim 1491)

"Umm Habibah said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah say: It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to mourn for anyone who dies for more than three days, except for a husband; (she mourns for him for) four months and ten (days)." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3500)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَحِلُّ لِامْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ أَنْ تُحِدَّ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ إِلَّا عَلَى زَوْجِهَا

that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: It is not permissible for a believing woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to fast ˹an optional fast˺ more than three days except with the permission of her husband.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَحِلُّ لِامْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ أَنْ تُحِدَّ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثٍ إِلَّا عَلَى زَوْجِهَا

Malik related to me from Said ibn Abi Said al-Maqburi from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is not halal for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to travel the distance of a day and night without a man who is her mahram."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يَحِلُّ لاِمْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخَرِ تُسَافِرُ مَسِيرَةَ يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ إِلاَّ مَعَ ذِي مَحْرَمٍ مِنْهَا

“A woman is not to travel the distance of a day and a night unless she is accompanied by someone who is a Mahram.” (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1170)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تُسَافِرُ امْرَأَةٌ مَسِيرَةَ لَيْلَةٍ إِلَّا مَعَ ذِي مَحْرَمٍ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A woman should not travel for more than three days unless accompanied by a mahram."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تُسَافِرِ الْمَرْأَةُ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ إِلَّا مَعَ ذِي مَحْرَمٍ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allahﷺ said: "It is not permissible for a woman to travel alone with no mahram accompanying her, except if she is accompanied by a mahram."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا يَحِلُّ لِامْرَأَةٍ أَنْ تُسَافِرَ ثَلَاثَةً إِلَّا وَمَعَهَا ذُو مَحْرَمٍ تَحْرُمُ عَلَيْهِ»

It is not lawful for a woman to undertake three (days, ) journey except when there is a Mahram with her. (Using translation from Muslim 1339d)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا يَحِلُّ لِامْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ أَنْ تُسَافِرَ مَسِيرَةَ يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ إِلَّا مَعَ ذِي مَحْرَمٍ مِنْهَا»

“It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to travel for more than one day’s distance without a Mahram.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2899)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ « لَا يَحِلُّ لِامْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخَرِ أَنْ تُسَافِرَ يَوْمًا وَاحِدًا لَيْسَ مَعَهَا ذُو مَحْرَمٍ»

[AI] The translation of the given phrase from Arabic to English is: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'A woman should not travel except with a mahram (a close male relative).'"

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "A woman should not travel for a journey of more than two days and two nights except with her husband or a mahram (unmarriageable kin) from her."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا تُسَافِرِ الْمَرْأَةُ مَسِيرَةَ يَوْمَيْنِ وَلَيْلَتَيْنِ إِلَّا وَمَعَهَا زَوْجُهَا أَوْ ذُو مَحْرَمٍ مِنْهَا
