A woman who believes in Allah and the last Day must not make a journey of a day and a night. He then narrated the rest of the tradition to the same effect (as above). The narrator al-Nufaili said : Malik narrated us. Abu Dawud said : The narrators al-Nufail and al_Qa’nabi did not mention the words “from his father”. Ibn Wahb and ‘Uthman bin ‘Umr narrated from Malik the same words as narrated by al-Qa’nabi (i.e. omitted the words “from his father”).  

أبو داود:١٧٢٤ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ وَالنُّفَيْلِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ثُمَّ اتَّفَقُوا عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يَحِلُّ لاِمْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ أَنْ تُسَافِرَ يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ

Malik related to me from Said ibn Abi Said al-Maqburi from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is not halal for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to travel the distance of a day and night without a man who is her mahram."  

مالك:٥٤-٣٨ – وَحَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

"Umm Habibah said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah say: It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to mourn for anyone who dies for more than three days, except for a husband; (she mourns for him for) four months and ten (days)." قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا يَحِلُّ لِامْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ أَنْ تُحِدَّ عَلَى مَيِّتٍ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثٍ إِلَّا عَلَى زَوْجٍ»

It is not permissible for a woman believing in Allah and the Hereafter to observe mourning on the dead for more than three (days), except in case of her husband. (Using translation from Muslim 1491)
