Sulaiman bin Buraidah reported on his father’s authority The Prophet ﷺ said “Fight in the name of Allaah and in the path of Allaah and with him who disbelieves in Allaah fight and do not be treacherous and do not be dishonest about boot yand do not deface (in killing) and do not kill a child.”

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ اغْزُوا بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ وَفِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَقَاتِلُوا مَنْ كَفَرَ بِاللَّهِ اغْزُوا وَلاَ تَغْدِرُوا وَلاَ تَغُلُّوا وَلاَ تُمَثِّلُوا وَلاَ تَقْتُلُوا وَلِيدًا

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent us in a military detachment and said: ‘Go in the Name of Allah, and in the cause of Allah. Fight those who disbelieve in Allah. Do not mutilate, do not be treacherous, do not steal from the spoils of war, and do not kill children.’”

بَعَثَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي سَرِيَّةٍ فَقَالَ سِيرُوا بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ وَفِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَاتِلُوا مَنْ كَفَرَ بِاللَّهِ وَلاَ تُمَثِّلُوا وَلاَ تَغْدِرُوا وَلاَ تَغُلُّوا وَلاَ تَقْتُلُوا وَلِيدًا

[AI] The translation of the given Arabic text is: "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would send a man on a military expedition, he would advise him to fear Allah privately for himself and for those who are with him from the Muslims. He would say, 'Fight in the name of Allah and for the cause of Allah. Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Do not deceive, cheat, mutilate, or kill children.'"

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَمَّرَ رَجُلًا عَلَى سَرِيَّةٍ أَوْصَاهُ فِي خَاصَّةِ نَفْسِهِ بِتَقْوَى اللَّهِ وَبِمَنْ مَعَهُ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ خَيْرًا وَقَالَ «اغْزُوا بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَفِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَاتِلُوا مَنْ كَفَرَ بِاللَّهِ اغْزُوا وَلَا تَغْدِرُوا وَلَا تَغُلُّوا وَلَا تُمَثِّلُوا وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا وَلِيدًا»

[AI] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would send out his armies, he would say, "Go forth in the name of Allah, and fight in the way of Allah. Those who disbelieve in Allah, do not betray them, do not deceive them, do not mutilate the dead bodies, do not kill children, and do not harm the people in monasteries."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا بَعَثَ جُيُوشَهُ قَالَ اخْرُجُوا بِسْمِ اللهِ تُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ مَنْ كَفَرَ بِاللهِ لَا تَغْدِرُوا وَلا تَغُلُّوا وَلا تُمَثِّلُوا وَلا تَقْتُلُوا الْوِلْدَانَ وَلا أَصْحَابَ الصَّوَامِعِ

[AI] We sent the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , on a military expedition, and he said, "Attack in the name of Allah, in the path of Allah, and do not cheat, betray, pretend, or kill a child of the traveler. For the traveler, there are three wipes on the shoes, and for the resident, it is a day and a night." A'ffan said in his narration, "The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , sent me."

بَعَثَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَرِيَّةٍ فَقَالَ اغْزُوا بِسْمِ اللهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَلَا تَغُلُّوا وَلَاتَغْدِرُوا وَلَا تُمَثِّلُوا وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا وَلِيدًا لِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثٌ مَسْحٌ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ قَالَ عَفَّانُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz wrote to one of his governors, "It has been passed down to us that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent out a raiding party, he would say to them, 'Make your raids in the name of Allah in the way of Allah. Fight whoever denies Allah. Do not steal from the booty, and do not act treacherously. Do not mutilate and do not kill children.' Say the same to your armies and raiding parties, Allah willing. Peace be upon you."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا بَعَثَ سَرِيَّةً يَقُولُ لَهُمُ اغْزُوا بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ تُقَاتِلُونَ مَنْ كَفَرَ بِاللَّهِ لاَ تَغُلُّوا وَلاَ تَغْدِرُوا وَلاَ تُمَثِّلُوا وَلاَ تَقْتُلُوا وَلِيدًا وَقُلْ ذَلِكَ لِجِيُوشِكَ وَسَرَايَاكَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ وَالسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا بَعَثَ سَرِيَّةً قَالَ اغْزُوا بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَقَاتِلُوا مَنْ كَفَرَ بِاللَّهِ وَلَا تَغُلُّوا وَلَا تُمَثِّلُوا وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا وَلِيدًا وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى عَنِ النَّبِيِّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ إِلَّا بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ

أَنَّ النَّبِيّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا بَعَثَ سَرِيَّةً قَالَ اغْزُوا بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ وَفِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قاتلوا من كفر بالله ولاَ تمثلوا ولاَ تقتلوا وليدا وخالد بن الفزر لا نعلم روى عنه إلاَّ الحسن بن صالح ولاَ نعلمُ روى إلاَّ هذين الحديثين عَن أَنَس بيان أَبُو بشر

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to say, "In the name of Allah, and for the sake of Allah, and on the path of the Messenger of Allah, do not cheat, betray, imitate, or kill children."

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا بَعَثَ سَرِيَّةً قَالَ «بِسْمِ اللهِ وَفِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَعَلَى مِلَّةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ لَا تَغُلُّوا وَلَا تَغْدِرُوا وَلَا تُمَثِّلُوا وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا الْوِلْدَانَ»

[AI] "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would send out his armies, he would say, 'In the name of Allah, and in the cause of Allah, and upon the religion of the Messenger of Allah, do not exceed the limits, do not betray, do not kill infants.'"

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا بَعَثَ جُيُوشَهُ قَالَ «بِسْمِ اللهِ وَفِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَعَلَى مِلَّةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ لَا تَغُلُّوا وَلَا تُمَثِّلُوا وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا وَلِيدًا»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, may ﷺ , sent me on a military expedition and said, "Attack in the name of Allah, in the cause of Allah. Do not exceed the limits, do not betray, do not kill a child, and for the traveler, allow him three days and nights, and for the resident, one day and night to wipe over their sandals."

بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَرِيَّةٍ فَقَالَ «اغْزُوا بِسْمِ اللهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ لَا تَغْلُوا وَلَا تَغْدِرُوا وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا وَلِيدًا وَلِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ»

[AI] About the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , it has been narrated that when he would send out his armies, he would say, "Go out in the name of Allah, fight for the cause of Allah. Do not commit excesses, do not mutilate, do not kill children, and do not kill those who are in places of worship."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا بَعَثَ جُيُوشَهُ قَالَ «اخْرُجُوا بِسْمِ اللهِ تُقَاتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ مَنْ كَفَرَ بِاللهِ لَا تَعْتْدُوا وَلَا تُمَثِّلُوا وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا الْوِلْدَانَ وَلَا أَصْحَابَ الصَّوَامِعِ»

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent us in a military detachment and said: ‘Go in the Name of Allah, and in the cause of Allah. Fight those who disbelieve in Allah. Do not mutilate, do not be treacherous, do not steal from the spoils of war, and do not kill children.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2857)

بَعَثَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَرِيَّةٍ فَقَالَ «سِيرُوا بِاسْمِ اللهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ تُقَاتِلُونَ عَدُوَّ اللهِ وَلَا تَغُلُّوا وَلَا تَغْدِرُوا وَلَا تُمَثِّلُوا وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا وَلِيدًا»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to give instructions to the leader of an army or expedition for himself, advising him to fear Allah and to be good to the believers who were with him. Then he would say: "Fight in the name of Allah, and fight those who disbelieve in Allah. Go forth and do not be treacherous, deceitful, deceitful, or kill a child."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا بَعَثَ أَمِيرًا عَلَى جَيْشٍ أَوْ سَرِيَّةٍ أَمَرَهُ فِي خَاصَّةِ نَفْسِهِ بِتَقْوَى اللهِ وَمَنْ مَعَهُ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ خَيْرًا ثُمَّ قَالَ اغْزُوا بِاسْمِ اللهِ فَقَاتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَقَاتِلُوا مَنْ كَفَرَ بِاللهِ اغْزُوا وَلَا تَغُلُّوا وَلَا تَغْدِرُوا وَلَا تُمَثِّلُوا وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا وَلِيدًا

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say when sending an army, and in the narration of Ibn Abi Oweis, he said about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that when he sent his armies, he would say, 'Go forth in the name of Allah, fighting for the cause of Allah. Do not be treacherous, deceitful, greedy, or kill children or those in places of worship.' The narration of Al-Misri does not include his statement 'Do not be greedy,' and the rest is similar to it."

رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا بَعَثَ جَيْشًا وَفِي رِوَايَةِ ابْنِ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ قَالَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا بَعَثَ جُيُوشَهُ قَالَ اخْرُجُوا بِاسْمِ اللهِ تُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ مَنْ كَفَرَ بِاللهِ لَا تَغْدِرُوا وَلَا تُمَثِّلُوا وَلَا تَغُلُّوا وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا الْوِلْدَانَ وَلَا أَصْحَابَ الصَّوَامِعِ لَيْسَ فِي رِوَايَةِ الْمِصْرِيِّ قَوْلُهُ وَلَا تَغُلُّوا وَالْبَاقِي مِثْلُهُ

"اغْزُوا باسْم اللهِ، في سبيلِ اللهِ: لَا تَغُلُّوا، ولا تَغْدُوُا، ولا تُمثِّلوا، ولا تَقْتُلوا وليدًا. لِلمُسافِر ثَلاثٌ مسحٌ على الخُفَّينِ، ولِلمُقيم يَوْمٌ ولَيلَةٌ".

"أُوصيكم بتقوى اللَّه، اغزُوا في سبيل اللَّهِ، ولا تغُلُّوا ولا تغدروا، ولا تُمثِّلُوا ولا تقتلوا وليدًا ولا عَسيفًا".

"خُذْ فاغزُ في سبيل اللَّه فقاتِلوا من كفر باللَّه، لا تغُلُّوا ولا تغْدِروا، ولا تُمثِّلوا، ولا تقْتُلوا وليدًا، فهذا عهدُ اللَّه وسيرةُ نبيِّهِ".
