[Machine] He said that he heard him say, "I and Abdullah bin Yasir, the Slaves of Maymuna, the wife of the Prophet, ﷺ , went until we entered upon Abu al-Juhaym bin al-Harith bin as-Simah. Abu al-Juhaym said, 'The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , came from the side of the well of Jamam and met a man who greeted him, but he did not respond to him. Then he approached the wall, wiped his face and hands on it, and then returned the greeting to him."  

البيهقي:٩٩٠ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْفَقِيهُ وَيَحْيَى بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْقَاضِي وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْمُزَكِّي قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ أنا وَقَالَا ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْبُوشَنْجِيُّ ثنا ابْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ثنا اللَّيْثُ حَدَّثَنِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ عُمَيْرٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ أَقْبَلْتُ أَنَا وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يَسَارٍ مَوْلَى مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ حَتَّى دَخَلْنَا عَلَى أَبِي الْجُهَيْمِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ الصِّمَّةِ فَقَالَ أَبُو الْجُهَيْمِ أَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ نَحْوِ بِئْرِ جَمَلٍ فَلَقِيَهُ رَجُلٌ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِ فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى أَقْبَلَ عَلَى الْجِدَارِ فَمَسَحَ بِوَجْهِهِ وَيَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ رَدَّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامَ  

رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ وَأَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ فَقَالَ وَقَالَ اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ 991 وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الْفَقِيهُ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو عُمَرَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ فَذَكَرَهُ بِإِسْنَادِهِ وَمَعْنَاهُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ فَمَسَحَ بِوَجْهِهِ وَذِرَاعَيْهِ ثُمَّ رَدَّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامَ

The Prophet ﷺ came from the direction of Bir Jamal. A man met him and greeted him. But he did not return back the greeting till he went to a (mud) wall and wiped his face and hands with its dust (performed Tayammum) and then returned back the greeting.

I and 'Abd al-Rahmin b. Yasir, the freed slave of Maimuna, the wife of the Apostle (way peace be upon him). came to the house of Abu'l-Jahm b. al-Harith al-Simma Ansari and he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came from the direction of Bi'r Jamal and a man met him; he saluted him but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ made no response, till he (the Holy Prophet) came to the wall, wiped his face and hands and then returned his salutations.  

مسلم:٣٦٩ – قَالَ مُسْلِمٌ وَرَوَى اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ هُرْمُزَ عَنْ عُمَيْرٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

abudawud:329 – ʿAbd al-Malik b. Shuʿayb b. al-Layth from my father from my father > Jaʿfar b. Rabīʿah > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Hurmuz > ʿUmayr a freed slave of Ibn ʿAbbās > Samiʿah > Aqbalt

I and 'Abd Allah b. Yasar, the freed slave of Maimunah, wife of the Prophet ﷺ, came and entered upon Abu al-Juhaim b. al-Harith b. al-Simmat al-Ansari. Abu al-Juhaim said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came from Bir Jamal (a place near Medina) and a man met him and saluted him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not return the salutation until he came to a wall and wiped his face and hands and then returned the salutation (i.e. after performing tayammum).  

أبو داود:٣٢٩ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ اللَّيْثِ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبِي عَنْ جَدِّي عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ هُرْمُزَ عَنْ عُمَيْرٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
