7.3 The performance of Tayammum by a non-traveller (is permissible) when water is not available and when one is afraid that the time of Salat (prayer) may elapse
٧۔٣ باب التَّيَمُّمِ فِي الْحَضَرِ، إِذَا لَمْ يَجِدِ الْمَاءَ، وَخَافَ فَوْتَ الصَّلاَةِ
[Machine] And Ata said regarding it. Al-Hasan also said: When the water is near the sick person and he does not find anyone to help him perform ablution, he may do Tayammum (dry ablution). Ibn Umar approached from his land on a hill, and the Asr prayer was approaching. He performed ablution with Marbad al-Na'am (a type of sand), then entered the city, and the sun was high and he did not repeat the prayer.
وَبِهِ قَالَ عَطَاءٌ. وَقَالَ الْحَسَنُ فِي الْمَرِيضِ عِنْدَهُ الْمَاءُ وَلاَ يَجِدُ مَنْ يُنَاوِلُهُ يَتَيَمَّمُ. وَأَقْبَلَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ مِنْ أَرْضِهِ بِالْجُرُفِ، فَحَضَرَتِ الْعَصْرُ بِمَرْبَدِ النَّعَمِ فَصَلَّى، ثُمَّ دَخَلَ الْمَدِينَةَ وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ فَلَمْ يُعِدْ.
