ahmad:4235 – Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Shuʿbah > Abū Isḥāq > al-Aswad > ʿAbdullāh

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ read the star and prostrated in it, and no one was with him except for an elderly sheikh. He took a handful of pebbles or soil and said, "Thus he said," and placed it on his forehead. He said, "I saw him killed as a disbeliever."  

أحمد:٤٢٣٥ – حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَرَأَ النَّجْمَ فَسَجَدَ فِيهَا وَمَنْ مَعَهُ إِلَّا شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ أَخَذَ كَفًّا مِنْ حَصًى أَوْ تُرَابٍ قَالَ فَقَالَ بِهِ هَكَذَا وَضَعَهُ عَلَى جَبْهَتِهِ قَالَ فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ قُتِلَ كَافِرًا

bukhari:1067 – Muḥammad b. Bashhār > Ghundar > Shuʿbah > Abū Isḥāq > al-Aswad > ʿAbdullāh

The Prophet ﷺ recited Suratan-Najm (103) at Mecca and prostrated while reciting it and those who were with him did the same except an old man who took a handful of small stones or earth and lifted it to his forehead and said, "This is sufficient for me." Later on, I saw him killed as a non-believer.  

البخاري:١٠٦٧ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الأَسْوَدَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ؓ قَالَ

The Apostle of Allah ﷺ recited (Surat) al Najm and performed prostration during its recital and all those who were along with him also prostrated themselves except one old man who took a handful of pebbles or dust in his palm and lifted it to his forehead and said: This is sufficient for me. 'Abdullah said: I saw that he was later killed in a state of unbelief.

"سَجَدَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ فِى النَّجْمِ، فَمَا بَقِىَ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا سَجَدَ مَعَه، إِلَّا شَيْخٌ أخَذَ كفا مِنْ تُرَابٍ فَرَفَعَهُ عَلَى جَبْهَتِهِ، فَلَقَدْ رَأيْتُهُ قُتِلَ كَافِرًا".
