[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to pray while standing when he commenced the prayer, and he used to pray while sitting when he commenced the prayer while sitting.

أحمد:٢٦٢٧٤ – حَدَّثَنَا شُجَاعُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ عَنْ لَيْثِ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ قَائِمًا صَلَّى قَائِمًا وَإِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ قَاعِدًا صَلَّى قَاعِدًا

I asked 'A'isha about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would observe prayer (Nafl) in a standing position as well as in a sitting position, and when he commenced the prayer in a standing position, he bowed in this very position, and when he commenced the prayer in a sitting position, he bowed in this very position.

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray standing and sitting. If he started to pray standing, he would bow standing and if he started to pray sitting, he would bow sitting."

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي قَائِمًا وَقَاعِدًا فَإِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ قَائِمًا رَكَعَ قَائِمًا وَإِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ قَاعِدًا رَكَعَ قَاعِدًا»

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ بِهَذَا اللَّفْظِ «وَقَدْ خَرَّجْتُهُ قَبْلَ هَذَا مِنْ حَدِيثِ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ وَهَذَا مَوْضِعُهُ وَحَدِيثُ ابْنُ سِيرِينَ هَذَا شَاهِدٌ صَحِيحٌ لِمَا تَقَدَّمَ»

ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ قَوْلَ عَائِشَةَ: فَإِذَا صَلَّى قَاعِدًا رَكَعَ قَاعِدًا، أَرَادَتْ بِهِ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ قَاعِدًا رَكَعَ قَاعِدًا
