ahmad:21532 – Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar > Shuʿbah > ʿAmr b. Murrah > Sūwayd b. al-Ḥārith > Abū Dhar

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "I do not like to have the equivalent of Uhud mountain in gold." Shu'bah said, or he said, "I do not like to have even a single gold coin from it, except for a debt that I owe."  

أحمد:٢١٥٣٢ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سُوَيْدَ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا ذَرٍّ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا أُحِبُّ أَنَّ لِي مِثْلَ أُحُدٍ ذَهَبًا قَالَ شُعْبَةُ أَوْ قَالَ مَا أُحِبُّ أَنَّ لِي أُحُدًا ذَهَبًا أَدَعُ مِنْهُ يَوْمَ أَمُوتُ دِينَارًا أَوْ نِصْفَ دِينَارٍ إِلَّا لِغَرِيمٍ

[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet (PBUH), he said, "I do not like to have the equivalent of gold like Uhud mountain except that I have prepared it for a debt, unless it is preserved for payment (of debts) on the day I die."
