[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever visits a sick person is indeed treading in the path of mercy. When he sits near the sick person, mercy envelops him." So I said, "O Messenger of Allah, is this reward only for the one who visits the sick person? What about the sick person himself?" He replied, "His sins are forgiven."  

أحمد:١٢٧٨٢ – حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ سَمِعْتُ هِلَالَ بْنَ أَبِي دَاوُدَ الْحَبَطِيَّ أَبَا هِشَامٍ قَالَ أَخِي هَارُونُ بْنُ أَبِي دَاوُدَ حَدَّثَنِي قَالَ أَتَيْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ إِنَّ الْمَكَانَ بَعِيدٌ وَنَحْنُ يُعْجِبُنَا أَنْ نَعُودَكَ فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ يَعُودُ مَرِيضًا فَإِنَّمَا يَخُوضُ فِي الرَّحْمَةِ فَإِذَا قَعَدَ عِنْدَ الْمَرِيضِ غَمَرَتْهُ الرَّحْمَةُ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَاللهِ هَذَا لِلصَّحِيحِ الَّذِي يَعُودُ الْمَرِيضَ فَالْمَرِيضُ مَا لَهُ؟ قَالَ تُحَطُّ عَنْهُ ذُنُوبُهُ

"عَنْ أنَسٍ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ الله ﷺ يقولُ: أيُّمَا رَجُل عَادَ مَريضًا فَإنَّمَا يَخُوضُ فِى الرَّحْمَةِ، فَإِذَا قَعَدَ عِنْدَ المريض غَمَرَتْهُ الرَّحْمَةُ. هَذَا لِلصَّحِيح، فَمَا لِلمَرِيضِ؟ قَالَ: تُحَطُّ عَنْه ذُنُوُبهُ".
