"If somebody slanders his slave (by accusing him of committing illegal sexual intercourse) and the slave is innocent from what he says, Allah will impose the punishment upon him on the Day of Resurrection, unless it is as he said about him." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1947)   

أحمد:١٠٤٨٨حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ أَخْبَرَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ غَزْوَانَ عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي نُعَيْمٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ نَبِيَّ التَّوْبَةِ ﷺ يَقُولُ أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ قَذَفَ مَمْلُوكَهُ وَهُوَ بَرِيءٌ مِمَّا قَالَ أَقَامَ عَلَيْهِ الْحَدَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ كَمَا قَالَ

"Some of my companions told me that Hisham had said, "When the Mu'adh-dhin said, "Haiyi ʿalassala (come for the prayer)." Muawiya said, "La hawla wala quwata illa billah (There is neither might nor any power except with Allah)" and added, "We heard your Prophet saying the same."

I heard Abu-l-Qasim (the Prophet) saying, "If somebody slanders his slave and the slave is free from what he says, he will be flogged on the Day of Resurrection unless the slave is really as he has described him."
