I used to think that the bottoms of the feet were more deserving of being wiped than the tops, until I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wiping their tops.
كُنْتُ أَرَى أَنَّ بَاطِنَ الْقَدَمَيْنِ أَحَقُّ بِالْمَسْحِ مِنْ ظَاهِرِهِمَا حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ ظَاهِرَهُمَا

كُنْتُ أَرَى أَنَّ بَاطِنَ الْقَدَمَيْنِ أَحَقُّ بِالْمَسْحِ مِنْ ظَاهِرِهِمَا حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ ظَاهِرَهُمَا

أَنَّ بَاطِنَ الْقَدَمَيْنِ أَحَقُّ بِالْمَسْحِ حَتَّى «رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ ظَاهِرَهُمَا»
" عَنْ علِىٍّ قالَ: لَوْ كان الدِّينُ بالرَّأي، لكَانَ باطِنُ القَدَمَيْنِ أحَقَّ بالمَسْح مِن ظَاهِرهما، وَلِكنْ رَأَيتُ رسُولَ الله ﷺ مَسَح ظَاهِرَهُمَا ".
"عن على قال: كُنْتُ أرَى أنَّ بَاطِنَ القَدَمَيْنِ - وفى لفظ: أنَّ بَاطِنَ الخُفَّيْنِ - أحَق بِالمسْحِ مِنْ ظَاهِرِهمَا حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ الله ﷺ يَمَسحُ ظَاهِرَهُمَا".
