[Machine] About Ibn Shihab regarding the naming of those who witnessed the incident at al-Aqaba from the Ansar, then from the Bani Harithah, Abu Burdah ibn Niyar ibn Amr.  

عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ فِي «تَسْمِيَةِ مَنْ شَهِدَ الْعَقَبَةَ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ثُمَّ مِنْ بَنِي حَارِثَةَ أَبُو بُرْدَةَ بْنُ نِيَارِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "On the first day of the sacrifice, there is a prayer and then the sacrifice after the prayer." So I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have slaughtered before I prayed, and I have a pregnant goat that is more beloved to me than two sheep. Should I sacrifice it?" He said, "Yes, and it will not fulfill the obligation of anyone after you."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «فِي أَوَّلِ نُسُكِ هَذَا الْيَوْمِ لِيَوْمِ النَّحْرِ صَلَاةٌ ثُمَّ النَّحْرُ بَعْدَ الصَّلَاةِ» فَمَشَيْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي ذَبَحْتُ قَبْلَ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ وَعِنْدِي عَتَاقٌ ابْنُ جَذَعَةَ هِيَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ لَحْمِ شَاتَيْنِ أَفَأَذْبَحُهَا؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ وَلَا تَفِي عَنْ أَحَدٍ بَعْدَكَ»  

[Machine] I took the hand of the Prophet ﷺ on the day of sacrifice, and I went with him to the house. I said to the girl, "Feed us from the meat of your sacrifice." She said, "It is not a sacrifice, but a sheep for meat. The sacrifice is after the prayer." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, we have a pregnant goat, should I sacrifice it?" He said, "Yes, but it will not be sufficient for anyone after you."  

أَخَذْتُ بِيَدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ فَمَضَيْتُ بِهِ إِلَى الْمَنْزِلِ فَقُلْتُ لِلْجَارِيَةِ أَطْعِمِينَا مِنْ لَحْمِ أُضْحِيَتِكِ فَقَالَ «إِنَّهَا لَيْسَتْ بِأُضْحِيَةٍ إِنَّمَا هِي شَاةُ لَحْمٍ إِنَّمَا الْأُضْحِيَّةُ بَعْدَ الصَّلَاةِ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ عِنْدَنَا رَبِيبَةً لَنَا جَذَعَةً أَفَأُضَحِّي بِهَا؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ وَلَا تُجْزِئُ عَنْ أَحَدٍ بَعْدَكَ»  

[Machine] He hurried to slaughter a sheep, then he remembered it for the Prophet ﷺ and said to him, "O Messenger of Allah, I hurried to slaughter a sheep for us?" He said, "Before the prayer." He said, "Yes." He said, "That is a sheep for meat." He said, "I have a jath'ah (an old sheep) that is more beloved to me than a musinnah (a young sheep) that will suffice me?" He said, "Yes, and it will not suffice anyone after you."  

أَنَّهُ عَجَّلَ شَاةً ثُمَّ ذَكَرَهَا لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي عَجَّلْتُ شَاةَ الصَّبِيِّ لَنَا؟ فَقَالَ «قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ» قَالَ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ «تِلْكَ شَاةُ لَحْمٍ» قَالَ فَإِنَّ عِنْدِي جَذَعَةً هِي أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ مُسِنَّةٍ تُجْزِئُ عَنِّي؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ وَلَنْ تُجْزِئَ عَنْ أَحَدٍ بَعْدَكَ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed and then I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I said, "I went out with my sacrificial animal to the prayer area and slaughtered it before the prayer." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Sacrifice another animal, for I sought a sheep from the mountain and did not find it. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered me to sacrifice a part of a sheep instead."  

أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ ثُمَّ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي خَرَجْتُ بِضَحِيَّتِي إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى فَذَبَحْتُهَا قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «ضَحِّ بِغَيْرِهَا فَالْتَمَسْتُ مِنَ الْمَعْزِ فَلَمْ أَجِدْ فَأَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ أُضَحِّيَ بِجَذَعٍ مِنَ الضَّأْنِ»  

[Machine] I met my uncle and he had a flag with him, so I asked, "Where are you going?" He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has sent me to a man who married his father's wife after him, so I will strike his neck and kill him."  

لَقِيتُ خَالِي وَمَعَهُ رَايَةٌ فَقُلْتُ أَيْنَ تَذْهَبُ؟ قَالَ «أَرْسَلَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى رَجُلٍ نَكَحَ امْرَأَةَ أَبِيهِ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ أَضْرِبُ عُنُقَهُ وَأقْتُلُهُ»  

[Machine] My uncle Abu Burdah passed by me with a flag, so I asked him, "Where are you going?" He replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me to a man who married his stepmother, to bring him his head."  

مَرَّ بِي خَالِي أَبُو بُرْدَةَ وَمَعَهُ لِوَاءٌ فَقُلْتُ إِلَى أَيْنَ؟ قَالَ «بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى رَجُلٍ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةَ أَبِيهِ أَجِيئُهُ بِرَأْسِهِ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ went to the tribes and called them, but he left one tribe without calling them and they objected to that. So, they searched the belongings of one of their companions and found a necklace in the pocket of his cloak that he had stolen, so they returned it. Then, the Prophet ﷺ came to them and prayed for them.  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «أَتَى الْقَبَائِلَ يَدْعُو لَهُمْ وَتَرَكَ قَبِيلَةً لَمْ يِأْتِهِمْ فَأَنْكَرُوا ذَلِكَ فَفَتَّشُوا مَتَاعَ صَاحِبٍ لَهُمْ فَوَجَدُوا قِلَادَةً فِي بَرْدَعَةِ رَجُلٍ مِنْهُمْ غَلَّهَا فَرَدُّوهَا فَأَتَاهُمْ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِمْ»  

[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "The world will not pass away until it is before Luka' ibn Luka'."  

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا تَذْهَبُ الدُّنْيَا حَتَّى تَكُونَ عِنْدَ لُكَعِ بْنِ لُكَعٍ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "No servant of mine prays upon me with a sincere prayer in his heart except that due to it, he receives ten prayers, ten good deeds are written for him, ten levels are raised for him, and ten bad deeds are erased from him."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَا صَلَّى عَلَيَّ عَبْدٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي صَلَاةً صَادِقًا بِهَا فِي قَلْبِ نَفْسِهِ إِلَّا ﷺ بِهَا عَشْرَ صَلَوَاتٍ وَكَتَبَ لَهُ بِهَا عَشْرَ حَسَنَاتٍ وَرَفَعَ لَهُ بِهَا عَشْرَ دَرَجَاتٍ وَمَحَا عَنْهُ بِهَا عَشْرَ سيئاتٍ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , saying, "It is not permissible for anyone to strike another person with more than ten lashes except within the limits set by Allah."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يَحِلُّ لِأَحَدٍ أَنْ يَضْرِبَ أَحَدًا فَوْقَ عَشَرَةِ أَسْوَاطْ إِلَّا فِي حَدٍّ مِنْ حُدُودِ اللهِ»  

The Prophet ﷺ used to say, "Nobody should be flogged more than ten stripes except if he is guilty of a crime, the legal punishment of which is assigned by Allah." (Using translation from Bukhārī 6848)  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُ «لَا يُجْلَدُ فَوْقَ عَشْرِ جَلَدَاتٍ إِلَّا فِي حَدٍّ مِنْ حُدُودِ اللهِ»  

I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Do not flog anyone more than ten stripes except if he is involved in a crime necessitating Allah's legal Punishment." (Using translation from Bukhārī 6850)  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا جَلْدَ فَوْقَ عَشَرَةِ أَسْوَاطٍ إِلَّا فِي حَدٍّ مِنْ حُدُودِ اللهِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Ten lashes shall not be administered except as a punishment within the limits set by Allah."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا يُجْلَدُ عَشَرَةُ أَسْوَاطٍ إِلَّا فِي حَدٍّ مِنْ حُدُودِ اللهِ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "A man will emerge from among the soothsayers, who will study the Quran in a way that no one else will study it after him."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «سَيَخْرُجُ مِنَ الْكَاهِنِينَ رَجُلٌ يَدْرُسُ الْقُرْآنَ دِرَاسَةً لَا يَدْرُسُهَا أَحَدٌ بَعْدَهُ»  

[Machine] It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, which earnings are the best?" He said, "The work of a person's own hands."  

قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَيُّ الْكَسْبِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «عَمَلُ الرَّجُلِ بِيَدِهِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The best earnings for a man are his children and every lawful sale."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَفْضَلُ كَسْبِ الرَّجُلِ وَلَدُهُ وَكُلُّ بَيْعٍ مَبْرُورٍ»  

[Machine] I was walking with the Prophet ﷺ on one of the roads of the city, and he passed by some food. He put his hand inside and took out some bad food on his hand. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "He is not one of us who deceives."  

كُنْتُ أَمْشِي مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي طَرِيقٍ مِنْ طُرُقِ الْمَدِينَةِ فَمَرَّ بِطَعَامٍ فَأَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ فَأَخْرَجَ عَلَى يَدِهِ طَعَامًا رَدِيئًا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ غَشَّ»
