[Machine] Abu Shuraih al-Ka'bi, who saw me slaughter a sheep to prepare a feast for his honorable guest, and I prepared a feast for my honorable guest as well. And on that day, I became insane, so tie my head and whoever sees a limit (boundary) of Abu Shuraih or milk being sold in the market, then it belongs to me. And whoever sees me arguing with a neighbor over a container of milk, then I am insane, so tie my head. His neighbor named Ajrafah tested him and took ten arms (of land) from his house. They said to him, "O Abu Shuraih, he took ten arms (of land) from your house." He replied, "I am more knowledgeable." So his neighbor responded to him later and returned to his right.  

أَبُو شُرَيْحٍ الْكَعْبِيُّ مَنْ رَآنِي أُلَاحِي خَتَنًا لِي أَفْرَشَنِي كَرِيمَتَهُ وَأَفْرَشْتُهُ كَرِيمَتِي فَأَنَا يَوْمَئِذٍ مَجْنُونٌ فاكْوُوا رَأْسِي وَمَنْ رَأَى لِأَبِي شُرَيْحٍ حَدًّا (جَدْيًا) أَوْ لَبَنًا يُبَاعُ فِي السُّوقِ فَهُوَ نَهْبِي وَمَنْ رَآنِي أُجَادِلُ جَارًا لِي لَبِنَةً فَأَنَا مَجْنُونٌ فَاكْوُوا رَأْسِي قَالَ فَاخْتَبَرَهُ جَارٌ لَهُ يُقَالُ لَهُ عَجْرَفَةُ فَأَخَذَ مِنْ دَارِهِ عَشَرَةَ أَذْرُعٍ فَقَالُوا لَهُ يَا أَبَا شُرَيْحٍ إِنَّهُ قَدْ أَخَذَ مِنْ دَارِكَ عَشَرَةَ أَذْرُعٍ فَقَالَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ فَرَدَّهُ عَلَيْهِ جَارُهُ بَعْدُ وَرَجَعَ إِلَى حَقِّهِ  

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Anybody who believes in Allah and the Last Day should not harm his neighbor, and anybody who believes in Allah and the Last Day should entertain his guest generously and anybody who believes in Allah and the Last Day should talk what is good or keep quiet. (i.e. abstain from all kinds of evil and dirty talk). (Using translation from Bukhārī 6018)  

ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ أَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي شُرَيْحٍ الْكَعْبِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيُكْرِمْ جَارَهُ وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيَقُلْ خَيْرًا أَوْ لِيَصْمُتْ وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيُكْرِمْ ضَيْفَهُ جَائِزَتُهُ يَوْمُهُ وَلَيْلَتُهُ وَالضِّيَافَةُ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ فَمَا كَانَ بَعْدَهَا فَهُوَ صَدَقَةٌ وَلَا يَحِلُّ لَهُ أَنْ يَثْوِيَ عِنْدَهُ حَتَّى يُخْرِجَهُ» وَلَفْظُهُمَا وَاحِدٌ  

My eare listened and my eye saw when Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke and said: He who believes In Allah and the eireafter should show respect to the guest even with utmost kindness and courtesy. They said: Messenger of Allah, what is this utmost kindness and courtesy? He replied: It is for a day and a night. Hospitality extends for three days, and what is beyond that is a Sadaqa for him; and he who believes in Allah and the Hereafter should say something good or keep quiet. (Using translation from Muslim 48b)  

سَمِعَتْهُ أُذُنَايَ وَأَبْصَرَتْ عَيْنَايَ حِينَ تَكَلَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيُكْرِمْ ضَيْفَهُ جَائِزَتُهُ» قَالُوا وَمَا جَائِزَتُهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ وَالضِّيَافَةُ ثَلَاثٌ وَمَا كَانَ وَرَاءَ ذَلِكَ فَهُوَ صَدَقَةٌ عَلَيْهِ وَلَا يَثْوِي عِنْدَهُ حَتَّى يُخْرِجَهُ» وَقَالَ «وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخَرِ فَلْيَقُلْ خَيْرًا أَوْ لِيَصْمُتْ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let them speak goodness or remain silent. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let them not harm their neighbor. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let them honor their guest. His reward is his day and his night." It was asked, "And what is his reward?" He ﷺ replied, "His day and his night."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيَقُلْ خَيْرًا أَوْ لِيَسْكُتْ مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلَا يُؤْذِ جَارَهُ مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيُكْرِمْ ضَيْفَهُ جَائِزَتُهُ» قِيلَ وَمَا جَائِزَتُهُ؟ قَالَ «يَوْمُهُ وَلَيْلَتُهُ»  

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Whoever believes in Allah and the Day of Judgment, let him honor his guest with his reward for one day and one night. It is not permissible for him to seclude himself with his companion until the hospitality is over, which is three days. Whatever he spends after that is considered charity."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيُكْرِمْ ضَيْفَهُ جَائِزَتُهُ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ وَلَا يَحِلُّ لَهُ أَنْ يَثْوِيَ عِنْدَ صَاحِبِهِ حَتَّى يُخْرِجَهُ الضِّيَافَةُ ثَلَاثَةٌ فَمَا أَنْفَقَ بَعْدُ عَلَيْهِ فَهُوَ صَدَقَةٌ»
