[Machine] Four hundred (people) from Daws came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Welcome! The best of people in terms of appearance and the sweetest in terms of speech, and the greatest of them in terms of trustworthiness."
[Machine] When the delegation of Abdul Qais came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he asked, "Who are you?" They replied, "We are from Rabi'ah." He said, "Welcome to you, O delegation! May you not be of those who regret." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, we are living under the protection of Rabi'ah, and we have come to you from a distant place. There is a tribe called Mudar between us and you, and we can only come to you during the sacred month. So give us a clear command that we can call and convey to those behind us so that we may enter Paradise." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I order you with four and prohibit you from four. I order you to have faith in Allah, bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Do you know what faith is? It is to bear witness that there is no god but Allah, establish prayer, pay Zakah, Fast during Ramadan, and give one-fifth of the spoils. I prohibit you from four things: Dubba, Hantam, Naqir, and Muzaffat." He added, "And perhaps I should also prohibit you from Muhayyar. Remember and convey them to those behind you."
The delegates of the tribe of ʿAbdul-Qais came and said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! We are from the tribe of Rabiʿa, and there is the infidels of the tribe of Mudar intervening between you and us, so we cannot come to you except in the Sacred Months. So please order us some instructions that we may apply it to ourselves and also invite our people whom we left behind us to observe as well." The Prophet ﷺ said, "I order you (to do) four (things) and forbid you (to do) four: I order you to believe in Allah, that is, to testify that None has the right to be worshipped but Allah (the Prophet ﷺ pointed with his hand); to offer prayers perfectly; to pay Zakat; to fast the month of Ramadan, and to pay the Khumus (i.e. one-fifth) of the war booty to Allah and I forbid you to use Ad-dubba', An-Naqir, Al-Hantam and Al-Muzaffat (i.e. utensils used for preparing alcoholic drinks)." (See Hadith No. 50, Vol. 1). (Using translation from Bukhārī 3095)
We testify that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade (the use of) gourds, green jars, receptacles smeared with pitch, and hollowed stumps of palm-trees. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3690)
[Machine] The delegation of Abd al-Qays came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, there are disbelievers from the tribe of Mudar between us and you, and we can only come to you during the sacred months. So give us a command that we can convey to those behind us and invite them to it." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Tell them that there are four testimonies: There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, establishing prayer, giving zakat, fasting in Ramadan, and paying one-fifth of what you have acquired. And I prohibit you from drinking the wine of grapes, and from the wine of dates, and from the wine of barley and wheat."
[Machine] A delegation from the tribe of Abd al-Qays came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, we are a tribe from Rabee'ah and the tribe of Mudar stands between us and you, and they are disbelievers. We cannot come to you except in a sacred month, so give us a commandment that we can apply and invite others to after we return." He said, "I command you with four things and forbid you from four things. I command you to bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, to establish prayer, to pay zakat, and to give one-fifth of the spoils of war. I forbid you from wearing garments made of silk, brocade, and fur, and from wearing gold jewelry. I also forbid you from drinking wine and using hunting dogs and falcons."
[Machine] The delegation of Abd al-Qays came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Greetings, O Messenger of Allah. We are from the tribe of Rabi'ah, but there are disbelievers from the tribe of Mudar among us. We can only come to you in the sacred month, so guide us and call those behind us to the same. The Prophet ﷺ said, "I command you to do four things: to have faith in Allah, bear witness that there is no deity but Allah and Muhammad is His Messenger, establish prayer, give zakat (charity), and pay one-fifth of the war booty. I forbid you from five things: do not consume carrion, blood, pork, or wine."
[Machine] That the delegation of Abd al-Qays came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, indeed there is disbelief between us and you, the tribe of Mudar, and we are unable to come to you whenever we wish. So inform us of what is permissible for us from what is forbidden upon us." He said, "I command you with four things and prohibit you from four things. [I command you to] establish the prayer, give the zakat, fast in Ramadan, and give one-fifth of the spoils. [I prohibit you from] donkeys, pulpits, wine skins, and flutes."
[Machine] The delegation of Abdul Qais came to the Prophet ﷺ and they said, "O Messenger of Allah, there are disbelievers among us from the tribe of Mudar, and we can only come to you during the sacred month. So command us with what is permissible for us and prohibit us from what is forbidden upon us." He said, "I command you to bear witness that there is no god but Allah, establish prayer, give zakah, fast Ramadan, and give one-fifth of what you have gained as spoils of war. And I prohibit you from saddle animals with saddles that cause harm, inflating and slashing the nostrils of camels, and branding animals on their faces."
[Machine] "The first Friday prayer that was held after a Friday in Madinah was a Friday prayer in the village of Abdul Qais in Bahrain, known as Juwatha."
[Machine] From Ibn Abbas: "The first Jumu'ah prayer that was observed in Madinah was followed by the Jumu'ah prayer of the straw huts."
[Machine] "That he (Prophet Muhammad) is a prophet who sent his brother (Ali) and said, 'Go to Makkah and listen to him (the Prophet) and bring me news of him.' So, his brother went to Makkah and heard the news of the Prophet ﷺ, then he went to Abu Dharr and informed him that the Prophet orders for good deeds, forbids evil deeds, and encourages noble manners.' Abu Dharr said, 'You haven't cured me.' Then he took a shana (water container) filled with water and herbs, and left until he reached Makkah. He tried to ask someone about the matter, but he didn't find the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until it was late at night. When he resolved to return, Ali bin Abi Talib passed by him and asked, 'Who is this man?' Abu Dharr answered, 'A man from Ghifar.' Ali said, 'Follow my footsteps, for if I see anything that I fear for you, I will stand up as if I urinate and then return to you, but if I don't see anything, follow my footsteps.' So, Ali went the next day, and Abu Dharr followed him until they entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They informed him of their news and heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and then they embraced Islam. Abu Dharr asked the Prophet, 'Order me with something.' He replied, 'Return to your people until you receive news from me.' Abu Dharr said, 'No, by Allah, I will not return until I scream out Islam.' So, he went to the mosque and called for prayer, saying, 'I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.' The polytheists said, 'This man (Abu Dharr) has caused mischief.' They beat him until he fell. Abbas bin Abd al-Muttalib passed by him and turned towards him, saying, 'O people of Quraysh, you are merchants and your way is through Ghifar. Do you want us to cut off the trade route from you?' So, they refrained from him. When the second day came, he returned and said the same words. They beat him again, and Abbas passed by them and said the same thing. This was the beginning of Abu Dharr's embracing of Islam."

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said: Gabriel came to me during the final ten days of Dhul-Qa'dah and said, "The Umrah (lesser pilgrimage) during Hajj is valid until the Day of Resurrection." Upon hearing this, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If I had known beforehand what I know now, I would have not brought the sacrificial animals and performed the Hajj rites."

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to observe thirteen rak'ahs of the night prayer. Five out of them consisted of Witr, and he did not sit, but at the end (for salutation). (Using translation from Muslim 737a)
[Machine] He has a slave, "Indeed, pleasure is only for people and there is a scarcity in women." So Ibn Abbas said to him, "You spoke the truth."
[Machine] "Do not ask for a favor from a blind person, and do not ask for it at night. And when you ask for a favor, face the person with your face, for modesty lies in the eyes. And ask for your need early, for the Prophet ﷺ said, 'O Allah, bless my nation in its mornings'."

[Machine] About alcohol, I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the masjid when he was leaning against my chest. Then he said, "Whoever has alcohol with them, let them bring it to me." So people started coming to him, and one person said, "I have a container of alcohol," and another person said, "I have a pitcher," and another person said, "I have a wine flask." And Allah willed that there be nothing with him. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Gather it in the open space of Al-Baqi' such and such and then give me the permission." So he stood up and I stood up with him. I walked on his right side while he was leaning on me. Then Abu Bakr caught up with us, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took hold of me and put him in my place. Then 'Umar ibn Al-Khattab caught up with us, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took hold of him and put him on his left side. He walked between them until he reached the wine. Then he said to the people, "Do you know what this is?" They said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah, this is alcohol." He said, "You are correct. Indeed, Allah has cursed alcohol, its drinker, its server, its seller, its buyer, its presser, and the one for whom it is pressed." Then he called for a knife and said, "Sharpen it." So they sharpened it. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took it and slashed the wine containers, and the people said, "In these containers is benefit." So he said, "Yes, but I only did that in anger for the sake of Allah, for the evil that is in them." And some of them added to others in the narration.

When they reach ninety-nine and four hundred, their destruction will come faster than the ripening of a fruit'?" Ibn Abbas said, "O Allah, yes." Ibn Abbas said, "O Allah, yes." That is why Muawiyah claimed Ziyad.
