[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, "Who is Sabaa?" Is Sabaa a man, a woman, or a land?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Sabaa is a man who was born ten times. He lived in Yemen for six times and in Syria for four times. As for the people of Yemen, they are Madhij, Kindah, Azd, Ash'ariyyun, Anmar, and Himyar. As for the people of Syria, they are Lakhm, Judham, Amilah, and Ghassan."  

الطبراني:١٢٩٩٢حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ رِشْدِينَ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ هُبَيْرَةَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَعْلَةَ قَالَ

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ سَبَأٌ مَا هُوَ؟ أَرَجُلٌ أَوِ امْرَأَةٌ أَمْ أَرْضٌ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «رَجُلٌ وَلَدَ عَشَرَةً فَسَكَنَ الْيَمَنَ سِتَّةً وَالشَّامَ أَرْبَعَةً فَأَمَّا الْيَمَانِيُّونَ فَمَذْحِجٌ وَكِنْدَةُ وَالْأَزْدُ وَالْأَشْعَرِيُّونَ وَأَنْمَارٌ وَحِمْيَرُ وَأَمَّا الشَّامِيُّونَ فَلَخْمٌ وَجُذَامُ وَعَامِلَةُ وَغَسَّانُ»

The Messenger of Allah replied, "No, it is a man who had ten sons. Six of them settled in Yemen, and four of them settled in Sham (Greater Syria). As for the people of Yemen, they are Muzhij, Kindah, Azd, Ash'ariyun, Anmar, and Himyar, all of them Arab tribes. As for the people of Sham, they are Lakhm, Judham, 'Amila, and Ghassan."

[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I heard a man say, "O Messenger of Allah, is Sabaa' (a region) an earth or a woman?" He said, "It is neither an earth nor a woman, but rather a man who had ten sons from the Arabs. Four of them are among the people of Tishaamah (Syria) and six of them are among the people of Yemen. As for those among the people of Tishaamah, they are 'Aak, Lakhm, Ghassaan, and 'Aamilah. And as for those among the people of Yemen, they are Azd, Kindah, Madh-hij, Himyar, Ash'ariyyoon, and Anmaar." A man said, "O Messenger of Allah, who are Anmaar?" He said, "Among them are Khath'am and Bajee'lah."

سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ إِنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ سَبَأٍ مَا هُوَ رَجُلٌ أَوِ امْرَأَةٌ أَوْ أَرْضٌ؟ فَقَالَ «هُوَ رَجُلٌ وَلَدَ عَشَرَةً مِنَ الْوَلَدِ سِتَّةً مِنْ وَلَدِهِ بِالْيَمَنِ وَأَرْبَعَةٌ بِالشَّامِ فَأَمَّا الْيَمَانِيُّونَ فَمَذْحِجٌ وَكِنْدَةُ وَالْأَزْدُ وَالْأَشْعَرِيُّونَ وَأنْمَارُ وَحِمْيَرُ خَيْرٌ كُلُّهَا وَأَمَّا الشَّامِيُّونَ فَلَخْمٌ وَجُذَامُ وَعَامِلَةُ وَغَسَّانُ»

The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "No, it is a man who had ten children. Four of them were Tamim, and six of them were Yamamah, Lakhm, Jadisam, Ghassan, Hamyar, Mudhij, Azd, Kindah, Ash'ariyun, and Anmar. Some descendents of the Anmar tribe are also included." Adh-Dhahabi did not discuss further in his summary.

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ سَبَأٍ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ سَبَأٌ رَجُلٌ أَوْ جَبَلٌ أَمْ وَادٍ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «بَلْ رَجُلٌ وَلَدَ عَشَرَةً فَتَشَاءَمَ أَرْبَعَةٌ وَتَيَامَنَ سِتَّةٌ فَتَشَاءَمَ لَخْمُ وَجُذَامُ وَعَامِلَةُ وَغَسَّانُ وَتَيَامَنَ حِمْيَرُ وَمَذْحِجٌ وَالْأَزْدُ وَكِنْدَةُ وَالْأَشْعَرِيُّونَ وَالْأَنْمَارُ الَّتِي مِنْهَا بَجِيلَةُ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص
