[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to go out and fetch water, then he would wipe himself with soil. So I would say, "O Messenger of Allah, the water is near you." And he would say, "Perhaps I may not reach it."  

الطبراني:١٢٩٨٧حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ السَّيْلَحِينِيُّ ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ هُبَيْرَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ حَنَشٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَخْرُجُ فَيُهَرِيقُ الْمَاءَ فَيَتَمَسَّحُ بِالتُّرَابِ فَأَقُولُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ الْمَاءَ مِنْكَ قَرِيبٌ فَيَقُولُ «لَعَلِّي لَا أَبْلُغُهُ»

He said, 'I do not know if I will be able to reach it.' He said, 'Yahya once again I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he went out and poured water, then he performed dry ablution. So it was said to him, 'The water is near us.'"
