Earn Allah's protection by guarding your duties toward him; No harm will come to you unless it is written for you

I was behind the Prophet ﷺ one day when he said: 'O boy! I will teach you a statement: Be mindful of Allah and He will protect you. Be mindful of Allah and you will find Him before you. When you ask, ask Allah, and when you seek aid, seek Allah's aid. Know that if the entire creation were to gather together to do something to benefit you- you would never get any benefit except that Allah had written for you. And if they were to gather to do something to harm you- you would never be harmed except that Allah had written for you. The pens are lifted and the pages are dried.'"  

كُنْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمًا فَقَالَ: «يَا غُلاَمُ، إِنِّي أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ: احْفَظِ اللَّهَ يَحْفَظْكَ، احْفَظِ اللَّهَ تَجِدْهُ تُجَاهَكَ، إِذَا سَأَلْتَ فَاسْأَلِ اللَّهَ، وَإِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِاللَّهِ۔ وَاعْلَمْ، أَنَّ الأُمَّةَ لَوِ اجْتَمَعَتْ عَلَى أَنْ يَنْفَعُوكَ بِشَيْءٍ لَمْ يَنْفَعُوكَ إِلاَّ بِشَيْءٍ قَدْ كَتَبَهُ اللَّهُ لَكَ، وَلَوِ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى أَنْ يَضُرُّوكَ بِشَيْءٍ لَمْ يَضُرُّوكَ إِلاَّ بِشَيْءٍ قَدْ كَتَبَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ: رُفِعَتِ الأَقْلاَمُ وَجَفَّتِ الصُّحُفُ۔»

أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ رَكِبَ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمًا فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَا غُلامُ إِنِّي مُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ احْفَظِ اللهَيَحْفَظْكَ احْفَظِ اللهَ تَجِدْهُ تُجَاهَكَ وَإِذَا سَأَلْتَ فاَسْأَلِ اللهَ وَإِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِاللهِ وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ الْأُمَّةَ لَوِ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى أَنْ يَنْفَعُوكَ لَمْ يَنْفَعُوكَ إِلا بِشَيْءٍ قَدْ كَتَبَهُ اللهُ لَكَ وَلَوِ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى أَنْ يَضُرُّوكَ لَمْ يَضُرُّوكَ إِلا بِشَيْءٍ قَدْ كَتَبَهُ اللهُ عَلَيْكَ رُفِعَتِ الْأَقْلامُ وَجَفَّتِ الصُّحُفُ  

I was following ˹behind˺ the Prophet ﷺ then he said to me, "Young boy, ˹bear in mind what˺ I am about to tell you of ˹the following˺ statements: (1) be mindful of Allah and He will protect you, (2) be mindful of Allah and and you will find Him facing you, (3) if you ask, then ask Allah, (4) if you seek help, then seek help from Allah."

"(5) The pens ˹of Divine Decree˺ have been lifted and the books ˹of Decree˺ have dried. Thus if everyone comes to benefit you for a thing that has not been decreed for you by Allah they will not be able to, and if they intend to harm you for a thing that has not been decreed for you by Allah, they will not be able to."  

كُنْتُ رِدْفَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ لِي: «يَا غُلامُ إِنِّي مُحَدِّثُكَ حَدِيثًا: (١) احْفَظِ اللهَ يَحْفَظْكَ، (٢) احْفَظِ اللهَ تَجِدْهُ تُجَاهَكَ، (٣) إِذَا سَأَلْتَ فَاسْأَلِ اللهَ، (٤) وَإِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِاللهِ،»

«(٥) فَقَدْ رُفِعَتِ الْأَقْلامُ وَجَفَّتِ الْكُتُبُ۔ فَلَوْ جَاءَتِ الْأُمَّةُ يَنْفَعُونَكَ بِشَيْءٍ لَمْ يَكْتُبْهُ اللهُ ﷻ لَكَ لَمَا اسْتَطَاعَتْ وَلَو أَرَادَتْ أَنْ تَضُرَّكَ بِشَيْءٍ لَمْ يَكْتُبْهُ اللهُ لَكَ مَا اسْتَطَاعَتْ۔»  

"عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: أَرْدَفَنِى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمًا فأَخْلَفَ يَدَهُ وَرَاءَ ظَهْره فَقَالَ: يَا غُلامُ، أَلا أُعَلِّمُكَ كلِمَاتٍ: احْفَظِ اللهَ يَحْفَظكَ، احْفَظِ الله تَجِدْهُ أَمَامَكَ، جَفَّت الأَقْلامُ، وَرفُعَتِ الصُّحُفُ، فَإِذَا سَأَلْتَ فَاسْأَلِ اللهَ، وَإِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِالله، وَالَّذِى نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بيَدهِ لَوْجَهِدَتِ الأُمَّةُ عَلَى أَنْ يَضُرُّوكَ لَمْ يَضُرُّوكَ إِلا بِشَىْءٍ قَدْ كَتَبَهُ الله عَلَيْكَ، وَلَوْ أَرَادَتْ أَنْ يَنْفَعُوكَ مَا نَفَعُوكَ إِلا بِشَىْءٍ قدْ كَتَبَهُ الله لَكَ".  

"يَا غُلَامُ: إِنَى أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ: احْفَظِ الله يَحْفَظكَ، احْفَظِ الله تَجِدْهُ تُجَاهَكَ، إِذَا سَأَلْتَ فَاسْأَلِ الله، وَإِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِالله، وَاعَلَمْ أَنَّ الأُمَّةَ لَوِ اجْتَمَعَتْ عَلَى أَنْ يَنْفَعُوكَ بِشْئٍ، لَمْ يَنْفَعُوكَ إِلَّا بِشْئٍ قَدْ كَتَبَهُ الله لَكَ، وَإِنِ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى أَنْ يَضُرُّوكَ بِشئٍ، لَمْ يَضُرُوك إِلَّا بِشَئٍ قَدْ كَتَبَهُ الله عَلَيكَ، رُفِعَتِ الأَقْلَامُ، وَجَفَّتِ الصُّحُف".  

"يَا غُلَامُ: احْفَظِ الله يَحْفَظكَ، احْفَظِ الله تَجِدْهُ تُجَاهَكَ، وَإِذَا سَالْتَ فَاسْأَلِ الله، وَإذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِالله، وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ الأُمَّةَ لَوِ اجْتَمَعَتْ عَلَى أَنْ يَنْفَعُوكَ بِشئٍ لَمْ يَكْتُبْهُ الله لَكَ لَمْ يَقْدِرُوا عَلَى ذَلِكَ، وَلَوِ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى أَنْ يَضُرُّوكَ بِشىْءٍ لَمْ يَكْتبهُ الله لَكَ لَمْ يَقْدِرُوا عَلَى ذَلِكَ، قُضِىَ القَضَاءُ، وَجَفَّتِ الأقْلَامُ وَطُوِيَتِ الصُّحُفُ".  

"يَا فَتَى: أَلَا أَهبُ لَكَ؟ أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ يَنْفَعُكَ الله بِهِنَّ؟ احْفَظْ الله يَحْفَظْكَ، احْفَظْ الله تَجِدْهُ أَمَامَكَ، وَإِذَا سَأَلْتَ فَاسْأَلْ الله، وَإِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِالله، وَاعْلَمْ أَنْ قَدْ جَفَّ الْقَلَمُ بِمَا هُوَ كَائِنٌ، وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ الْخَلَائِقَ لَوْ أَرَادُوكَ بِشَىْءٍ لَمْ يُكْتَبْ عَلَيْكَ لَمْ يَقْدِرُوا عَلَيْكَ، وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ النَّصْرَ مَعَ الصَّبْرِ، وَأَنَّ الْفَرَجَ مَعَ الْكَرْبِ، وَأَنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا".
