[Machine] He used to say when he sat down, "Verily, you are in the passage of the night in limited periods and preserved deeds, and death comes suddenly. So whoever sows good, he will soon reap desire, and whoever sows evil, he will soon reap regrets. And for every farmer, there is no delay in his fortune, and no eager one can attain what is not destined for him. So whoever is given good, Allah has given him, and whoever is protected from evil, Allah has protected him. The righteous are leaders and the knowledgeable are guides, and their gatherings are blessings."  

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ إِذَا قَعَدَ «إِنَّكُمْ فِي مَمَرِّ اللَّيْلِ فِي آجَالٍ مَنْقُوصَةٍ وَأَعْمَالٍ مَحْفُوظَةٍ وَالْمَوْتُ يَأْتِي بَغْتَةً فَمَنْ يَزْرَعْ خَيْرًا يُوشِكُ أَنْ يَحْصُدَ رَغْبَةً وَمَنْ يَزْرَعْ شَرًّا يُوشِكُ أَنْ يَحْصُدَ نَدَامَةً وَلِكُلِّ زَارِعٍ لَا يَسْبِقُ بَطِيءٌ بِحَظِّهِ وَلَا يُدْرِكُ حَرِيصٌ مَا لَمْ يُقَدَّرْ لَهُ فَمَنْ أُعْطِيَ خَيْرًا فَاللهُ أَعْطَاهُ وَمَنْ وُقِيَ شَرًّا فَاللهُ وَقَاهُ الْمُتَّقُونَ سَادَةٌ وَالْفُقَهَاءُ قَادَةٌ وَمُجَالَسَتُهُمْ زِيَادَةٌ»  

"عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: أَيُّكُمْ فِى سَيْرِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ فِى آجَالٍ مَنْقُوصَةٍ وَأَعْمَالٍ مَحْفُوظَةٍ والمَوْتُ يَأتِى بَغْتَةً فَمَنْ زَرَعَ خَيْرًا يُوشِكُ أَنْ يَحْصُدَ رَغْبَةً وَمَنْ زَرَعَ شَرًّا يُوشِكُ أَنْ يَحْصُدَ نَدَامَةً، وَلكلَّ زَارِعٍ مَا زَرَعَ، وَلا يَسْبِقُ بَطِئٌ حَظَّهُ، وَلا يُدْرِكُ حَرِيصٌ مَا لَمْ يُقَدَّرْ لَهُ، فَمَنْ أُعْطِىَ خَيْرًا فَالله أعْطَاهُ، وَمَنْ وُقِىَ شَرّا فَاللهُ وَقَاهُ، العُلَمَاءُ سَادَةٌ، وَالفُقَهَاءُ قَادَةٌ، وَمُجَالَسَتهُمْ زِيَادَةٌ".
