[Machine] Umarah ibn Ruwaibah, may Allah curse these two hands. I have indeed seen the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , using nothing more than this, and Abu Awana gestured.  

الكبرى للنسائي:١٧٢٦أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ بِشْرَ بْنَ مَرْوَانَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ فَقَالَ

عُمَارَةُ بْنُ رُوَيْبَةَ قَبَّحَ اللهُ هَاتَيْنِ الْيَدَيْنِ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَا يَزِيدُ عَلَى هَذَا وَأَشَارَ أَبُو عَوَانَةَ

Allah, disfigure these hands! I have seen Messenger of Allah ﷺ gesture no more than this with his hands, and he pointed with his forefinger.

قَبَّحَ اللَّهُ هَاتَيْنِ الْيَدَيْنِ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا يَزِيدُ عَلَى أَنْ يَقُولَ بِيَدِهِ هَكَذَا وَأَشَارَ بِإِصْبَعِهِ الْمُسَبِّحَةِ  

tirmidhi:515Aḥmad b. Manīʿ > Hushaym > Ḥuṣayn

"I heard Umarah bin Rawaibah Ath-Thaqafi - while Bishr bin Marwan was delivering Khutbah and raising his hands in supplication - so Umarah said: 'May Allah disgrace these two insignificant hands, I have seen Messenger of Allah, and he would not do any more than this;'" and Hushaim (one of the narrators) motioned with his index finger.  

Abū ʿĪsá said that this Ḥadīth is Ḥasan-Ṣaḥīḥ.
الترمذي:٥١٥حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ أَخْبَرَنَا حُصَيْنٌ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُمَارَةَ بْنَ رُوَيْبَةَ الثَّقَفِيَّ وَبِشْرُ بْنُ مَرْوَانَ يَخْطُبُ فَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ فِي الدُّعَاءِ فَقَالَ

عُمَارَةُ قَبَّحَ اللَّهُ هَاتَيْنِ الْيُدَيَّتَيْنِ الْقُصَيِّرَتَيْنِ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَمَا يَزِيدُ عَلَى أَنْ يَقُولَ هَكَذَا وَأَشَارَ هُشَيْمٌ بِالسَّبَّابَةِ  

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ
