The people saw fire (light) in the graveyard and they went there. They found that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in a grave and he was saying: Give me your companion. This was a man who used to raise his voice while mentioning the name of Allah.  

رَأَى نَاسٌ نَارًا فِي الْمَقْبَرَةِ فَأَتَوْهَا فَإِذَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي الْقَبْرِ وَإِذَا هُوَ يَقُولُ نَاوِلُونِي صَاحِبَكُمْ فَإِذَا هُوَ الرَّجُلُ الَّذِي كَانَ يَرْفَعُ صَوْتَهُ بِالذِّكْرِ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, he is being punished." So he died, and a man saw fire in his grave. He approached him, and behold, it was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Come to your companion." And behold, it was the man who used to raise his voice in remembrance.  

رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «فَإِنَّهُ أَوَّاهٌ» قَالَ فَمَاتَ فَرَأَى رَجُلٌ نَارًا فِي قَبْرِهِ فَأَتَاهُ فَإِذَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِيهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «هَلُمُّوا إِلَى صَاحِبَكُمْ» فَإِذَا هُوَ الرَّجُلُ الَّذِي كَانَ يَرْفَعُ صَوْتَهُ بِالذِّكْرِ  

[Machine] "I saw a fire in the cemeteries, so I approached them and found the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the grave, saying, 'Bring me your companion.'"  

رَأَيْتُ نَارًا فِي الْمَقَابِرِ فَأَتَيْتُهُمْ فَإِذَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي الْقَبْرِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «نَاوِلُونِي صَاحِبَكُمْ»

رَأَى نَاسٌ نَارًا فِي مَقْبَرَةٍ فَأَتَوْهَا فَإِذَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «نَاوِلُونِي صَاحِبَكُمْ» وَإِذَا هُوَ الرَّجُلُ الَّذِي كَانَ يَرْفَعُ صَوْتَهُ بِالذِّكْرِ  

[Machine] Some people saw fire in the cemetery, so they went towards it and found the messenger of Allah ﷺ in the grave. He was saying, "Bring your companion to me." It was him who used to raise his voice in remembrance (of Allah). And it has been narrated from Abu Dharr that this happened at night and he had a lamp with him.  

رَأَى نَاسٌ نَارًا فِي الْمَقْبَرَةِ فَأَتَوْهَا فَإِذَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺفِي الْقَبْرِ وَإِذَا هُوَ يَقُولُ نَاوِلُونِي صَاحِبَكُمْ فَإِذَا هُوَ الَّذِي كَانَ يَرْفَعُ صَوْتَهُ بِالذِّكْرِ وَقَدْ رُوِّينَا عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ؓ أَنَّ ذَلِكَ كَانَ لَيْلًا وَكَانَ مَعَهُ الْمِصْبَاحُ

"عَنْ جَابرٍ قَالَ: رَأَى نَاسٌ نَارًا فِى مَقْبَرَةٍ فَأَتَوْهَا، وَإِذَا رَسُولُ الله ﷺ يَقُولُ: نَاوِلُونِى صَاحِبَكُمْ، فَإِذَا هُوَ الرَّجُلُ الَّذِى كانَ يَرْفَعُ صَوْتَهُ بِالذِّكْرِ".
