3. Book of Purification (8/12)
Messenger of Allah, do not say Amin before me. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 937)
In the year of Conquest the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited a verse at which a prostration should be made and all the people prostrated themselves. Some were mounted, and some were prostrating themselves on the ground, and those who were mounted prostrated themselves on their hands. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1411)
[Machine] A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I saw in this night, as a sleeper sees, that I was praying behind a tree. I then saw that I recited a prostration and I prostrated. I saw the tree as if it were prostrating with my prostration. I heard it while it was prostrating and saying, 'O Allah, write for me with it (the prostration) a reward with You, make it a treasure for me in Your presence, and remove from me by means of it a sin. Accept it from me as You accepted from Your servant Dawud (David).'"
Ibn Abbas said, "Then I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recite the prostration, then he prostrated. I heard him while he was prostrating saying the same as the man said about the speech of the tree."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to say during his prostration in the night prayer of the Quran: "I prostrate my face to the One who created it and opened up his hearing and sight through His power and strength." Wahb, Khalid, and Abdul-Wahhab Al-Thaqafi narrated this with an addition from Khalid.
3.27 [Machine] As for the narration of Wahb
The Prophet ﷺ used to say, when he did a prostration that was required when reciting Quran at night: "Sajada wajhi lilladhi khalaqahu wa sawwarahu wa shaqqa sam'ahu wa basarahu bihawlihi wa quwwatih (My face has prostrated to the One Who created it and formed it, and brought forth its hearing and sight by His power and strength.)" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1129)
3.28 [Machine] And as for the saying of Abdulwahhab
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prostrated himself at night when reciting the Qur'an. He said repeatedly: My face prostrates itself to Him Who created it and brought forth its hearing and seeing by His might and power. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1414)
[Machine] The first chapter in which the sajda (prostration) was revealed is Surah Al-Hajj. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited it, and he performed the sajda, and the people also performed the sajda except for one man who took dust and performed sajda on it. I saw him being killed as a disbeliever. This narration is followed by Zakariyya ibn Abi Zaidah narrating it from Abu Ishaq upon their conditions.
[Machine] "The first Surah that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited to the people during Hajj was the Surah Al-Hajj. When he recited it, the people all prostrated except for one man who took some soil and prostrated on it. I saw him being killed as a disbeliever."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Surah Al-Hajj is preferred with two prostrations, so whoever does not prostrate during its recitation, should not recite it." Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in his summary.
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ prayed the noon prayer, so we assumed that he recited the chapter of prostration.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, spent a night at my place. I noticed that he was missing, so I thought he had gone to some of his wives. I searched for him and found him in prostration. I placed my hand on him and heard him saying, "Forgive me for what I have concealed and what I have made public."
[Machine] "We used to sit with the Prophet ﷺ , and he would recite the Quran. Sometimes, he would come across a verse that required prostration, and he would prostrate, and we would prostrate with him."
[Machine] When it was the day of Badr, I fought in a battle for a while, then I came quickly to see what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was doing. I found him prostrating and saying, "O Ever Living, O Sustainer." He did not say anything else, so I returned to the battle. Then I came back and found him prostrating and saying the same. I returned to the battle again, then came back and found him prostrating and saying the same. He continued saying that until Allah granted him victory.
[Machine] "I entered the mosque and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was leaving the mosque. I followed him walking behind him, and he did not notice until he entered a date palm grove and faced the direction of the Qibla and prostrated. He prolonged his prostration while I was behind him, until I thought that Allah had taken his soul. So, I approached him walking until I reached him and I lowered my head to look at his face. He raised his head and said, 'What is the matter, O Abdur Rahman?' I said, 'When you prolonged the prostration, O Messenger of Allah, I feared that your soul had been taken, so I came to look.' He said, 'When I entered the date palm grove, I met Jibril, who said to me, "I bring you glad tidings that Allah says: 'Whoever sends his Salam upon you, I will send my Salam upon him, and whoever performs prayer upon you, I will perform prayer upon him.'"'"
It was narrated from ‘Amr bin ‘As that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught him fifteen prostrations in the Qur’an, including three in the Mufassal and two in Al-Hajj. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1057)
[Machine] The translation of the given text into English is: "When the Prophet ﷺ finished reciting Surah Al-Fatiha, he raised his voice and said, 'Ameen.'"
[Machine] Abu Hurayrah complained or disappeared, so Abu Sa'eed al-Khudri prayed for us and he raised his voice with the takbeer when he started the prayer, and when he bowed, and when he said "Sami'a Allahu liman hamidah" (Allah hears those who praise Him), and when he raised his head from sujood (prostration), and when he prostrated, and when he raised from prostration, and when he stood up after the two rak'ahs until he completed his prayer in that manner. It was said to him, "Indeed, the people have differed in your prayer." So he came out and stood on the pulpit and said, "O people, I swear by Allah, I do not care if your prayers differ or not. This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to separate his fingers when he performed the ruku' (bowing) position.
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught us the prayer. He stood up and said the takbir, and when he wanted to bow, he put his hands together and put his hands between his knees and bowed." News of that reached Sa'd and he said: "My brother has spoken the truth. We used to do that, then we were commanded to do this," meaning to hold the knees. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1031)
[Machine] "Tell us about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so he stood in front of us in the mosque. He said the Takbeer (Allahu Akbar) and when he went into the bowing position, he said the Takbeer and placed his hands on his knees, with his fingers below them, and then straightened his back to stand up again. This is how we saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do it."
[Machine] Translation: We have the messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Place it in your bowing."
When "Glorify the name of your mighty Lord" was revealed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Use it when bowing, and when "Glorify the name of your most high Lord" was revealed, he said: Use it when prostrating yourself. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 869)
[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi praised what was recited by Malik and Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Salamah informed me, narrating from Uthman ibn Sa'id al-Darimi, who narrated from Yahya ibn Bukayr, who narrated from Malik, and Ahmad ibn Ja'far informed us, narrating from Abdullah ibn Ahmad ibn Hanbal, who narrated from his father, who said: I read upon Abdurrahman ibn Mahdi from Malik, from Nuaim ibn Abdullah al-Mujmir, from Ali ibn Yahya ibn Khalbadd al-Zurqi, from his father, from Rifaa'ah ibn Rafa', from whom he narrated that he said: "One day, we were praying with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . When he raised his head from the prostration, he said, 'Allah listens to the one who praises Him.' A man said, 'Our Lord, to You belongs all praise, abundant, pure, blessed, and plentiful.' When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished, he said, 'Who spoke earlier?' The man said, 'It was me, O Messenger of Allah.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'I saw thirty-two angels competing to write it down.'"

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited the supplication (Qunut) daily for a month at the noon, afternoon, sunset, night and morning prayers. When he said: "Allah listens to him who praises Him" in the last rak'ah, invoking a curse on some clans of Banu Sulaym, Ri'l, Dhakwan and Usayyah, and those who were standing behind him said: Amen. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1443)
It was narrated from ‘Alqamah that Ibn Mas’ud prostrated twice for the prostrations of forgetfulness after the Salam, and he mentioned that the Prophet ﷺ did that.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1218)
3.29 [Machine] As for the saying of Anas
[Machine] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raising his hands until they were level with his ears, then he performed the bowing (rukoo') until every joint in his body was settled, and he extended the takbeer until his hands were level with his knees."
"This is an authentic chain of narration according to the conditions of the two Sheikhs, and I do not know of any defect in it as they have not rejected it."
The Prophet ﷺ said: Both hands prostrate as the face prostrates. When one of you puts his face (on the ground) he should put his hands too (on the ground). And when he raises it, he should raise them too. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 892)
[Machine] I heard Al-Bara' ibn 'Azib saying that the Prophet ﷺ used to prostrate on the palms of his hands.
[Machine] Al-Qa'ani reported that Dawud ibn Qais narrated from Ubaidullah ibn Abdullah ibn Akram, from his father, that he was with his father in a place called al-Qa'a, when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the prayer. He said, "I used to look at the armpits of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ whenever he prostrated."

[Machine] The translation of the given text in English is: "Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ used to "place his fingers together when he prostrated."
