ʿAbdullah cursed those women who practiced tattooing and those who removed hair from their faces and those who created spaces between their teeth artificially to look beautiful, such ladies as changed what Allah has created. Um Ya'qub said, "What is that?" ʿAbdullah said, "Why should I not curse those who were cursed by Messenger of Allah ﷺ and are referred to in Allah's Book?" She said to him "By Allah, I have read the whole Qur'an but I have not found such a thing. ʿAbdullah said, "By Allah, if you had read it (carefully) you would have found it. (Allah says:) 'And what the Apostle gives you take it and what he forbids you abstain (from it).' (59.7)

لَعَنَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ الْوَاشِمَاتِ وَالْمُتَنَمِّصَاتِ وَالْمُتَفَلِّجَاتِ لِلْحُسْنِ الْمُغَيِّرَاتِ خَلْقَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ يَعْقُوبَ مَا هَذَا قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَمَا لِيَ لاَ أَلْعَنُ مَنْ لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَفِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ قَالَتْ وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ قَرَأْتُ مَا بَيْنَ اللَّوْحَيْنِ فَمَا وَجَدْتُهُ قَالَ وَاللَّهِ لَئِنْ قَرَأْتِيهِ لَقَدْ وَجَدْتِيهِ {وَمَا آتَاكُمُ الرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانْتَهُوا}

Allah has cursed those women who practise tattooing or get it done for themselves, and those who remove hair from their faces, and those who create spaces between their teeth artificially to look beautiful, such ladies as change the features created by Allah. Why then shall I not curse those whom Messenger of Allah ﷺ has cursed and who are cursed in Allah's Book too?

لَعَنَ اللَّهُ الْوَاشِمَاتِ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَاتِ وَالْمُتَنَمِّصَاتِ وَالْمُتَفَلِّجَاتِ لِلْحُسْنِ الْمُغَيِّرَاتِ خَلْقَ اللَّهِ مَا لِي لاَ أَلْعَنُ مَنْ لَعَنَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهْوَ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ

Allah has cursed those women who practise tattooing and those who get it done for themselves, and those who remove hair from their faces, and those who artificially create spaces between their teeth to look beautiful, such women as alter the features created by Allah. Why should I not then curse those whom Messenger of Allah ﷺ has cursed and that is in Allah's Book?

لَعَنَ اللَّهُ الْوَاشِمَاتِ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَاتِ وَالْمُتَنَمِّصَاتِ وَالْمُتَفَلِّجَاتِ لِلْحُسْنِ الْمُغَيِّرَاتِ خَلْقَ اللَّهِ مَا لِي لاَ أَلْعَنُ مَنْ لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهْوَ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] cursed the women who do tattoos and the women who have them done, Al-Mutanammisat, and the women who have their teeth separated for the sake of beauty, those who change (the creation of Allah.)"

لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْوَاشِمَاتِ وَالْمُوتَشِمَاتِ وَالْمُتَنَمِّصَاتِ وَالْمُتَفَلِّجَاتِ لِلْحُسْنِ الْمُغَيِّرَاتِ

انْطَلَقْتُ مَعَ عَجُوزٍ إِلَى ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ فَذَكَرَ قِصَّةً فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَلْعَنُ الْمُتَنَمِّصَاتِ وَالْمُتَفَلِّجَاتِ وَالْمُوشِمَاتِ اللَّاتِي يُغَيِّرْنَ خَلْقَ اللهِ ﷻ

[AI] "May Allah curse the tattooed women, the pluckers (of eyebrows), the mutilators, and those who modify the creation of Allah. Then the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Will I not curse those whom the Messenger of Allah has cursed?' A woman from the tribe of Bani Asad said, 'I think he is among my relatives.' He said to her, 'Go and look.' So she went and looked, and she did not see anything in them or in him (indicating her relatives). She said, 'I did not see anything in them or in him in the Qur'an.' He said, 'Indeed, I said it: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said it.'"

لَعَنَ اللهُ الْمُتَوَشِّمَاتِ وَالْمُتَنَمِّصَاتِ وَالْمُتَفَلِّجَاتِ وَالْمُغَيِّرَاتِ خَلْقَ اللهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَلَا أَلْعَنُ مَنْ لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ فَقَالَتِ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ بَنِي أَسَدٍ إِنِّي لَأَظُنُّهُ فِي أَهْلِكَ فَقَالَ لَهَا اذْهَبِي فَانْظُرِي فَذَهَبَتْ فَنَظَرَتْ فَقَالَتْ مَا رَأَيْتُ فِيهِمْ شَيْئًا وَمَا رَأَيْتُهُ فِي الْمُصْحَفِ قَالَ بَلَى قَالَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

لَعَنَ اللَّهُ الْوَاشِمَاتِ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَاتِ وَالْمُتَنَمِّصَاتِ وَالْمُتَفَلِّجَاتِ لِلْحُسْنِ الْمُغَيِّرَاتِ خَلْقَ اللَّهِ قَالَ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ امْرَأَةً مِنْ بَنِي أَسَدٍ يُقَالُ لَهَا أُمَّ يَعْقُوبَ فَأَتَتْهُ فَقَالَتْ مَا حَدِيثٌ بَلَغَنِي عَنْكَ ؟ فَذَكَرَتْهُ لَهُ فَقَالَ أَلَا أَلْعَنُ مَنْ لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَفِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah cursed, so a woman from the Banu Asad said to him, 'I think he is cursing your family.' He said, 'Go and look.' So she went and then came back and said, 'I did not see anything in them (i.e., his family), and I did not see him (i.e., the curse) in the Quran.' Abdullah said to her, 'Indeed, yes, the Messenger of Allah said that.'"

«لُعِنَ الْمُتَنَمِّصَاتُ وَالْمُتَفَلِّجَاتُ وَالْمُتَوَشِّمَاتُ» أَلَا أَلْعَنُ مَنْ لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ لَهُ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ بَنِي أَسَدٍ أَظُنُّهُ فِي أَهْلِكَ قَالَ «اذْهَبِي فَانْظُرِي» فَذَهَبَتْ ثُمَّ جَاءَتْ فَقَالَتْ مَا رَأَيْتُ فِيهِنَّ شَيْئًا وَمَا رَأَيْتُهُ فِي الْمُصْحَفِ فَقَالَ لَهَا عَبْدُ اللهِ «بَلَى قَالَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ»
