I have not ceased to like Banu Tamim ever since I heard of three qualities attributed to them by Messenger of Allah ﷺ (He said): They, out of all my followers, will be the strongest opponent of Ad-Dajjal; ʿAisha had a slave-girl from them, and the Prophet ﷺ told her to manumit her as she was from the descendants of (the Prophet) Ishmael; and, when their Zakat was brought, the Prophet ﷺ said, "This is the Zakat of my people."  

البخاري:٤٣٦٦ – حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ قَالَ

لاَ أَزَالُ أُحِبُّ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ بَعْدَ ثَلاَثٍ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُهَا فِيهِمْ هُمْ أَشَدُّ أُمَّتِي عَلَى الدَّجَّالِ وَكَانَتْ فِيهِمْ سَبِيَّةٌ عِنْدَ عَائِشَةَ فَقَالَ أَعْتِقِيهَا فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَجَاءَتْ صَدَقَاتُهُمْ فَقَالَ هَذِهِ صَدَقَاتُ قَوْمٍ أَوْ قَوْمِي

I have loved the people of the tribe of Bani Tamim ever since I heard, three things, Messenger of Allah ﷺ said about them. I heard him saying, These people (of the tribe of Bani Tamim) would stand firm against Ad-Dajjal." When the Sadaqat (gifts of charity) from that tribe came, Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "These are the Sadaqat (i.e. charitable gifts) of our folk." ʿAisha had a slave-girl from that tribe, and the Prophet ﷺ said to ʿAisha, "Manumit her as she is a descendant of Ishmael (the Prophet).

My love for Banū Tamīm will remain due to three ˹things˺ that I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "(1) They will the most severe of my Ummah against the Dajjāl." And it was said, "They have given charities." The Prophet ﷺ said, "(2) These charities are from our people." A female captive from among them was with ʿĀʾishah, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her, "(3) Free her for she is from the children of Ismāʿīl."  

مسلم:٢٥٢٥a – حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ

لاَ أَزَالُ أُحِبُّ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ مِنْ ثَلاَثٍ سَمِعْتُهُنَّ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ۔ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: «(١) هُمْ أَشَدُّ أُمَّتِي عَلَى الدَّجَّالِ۔» قَالَ: وَجَاءَتْ صَدَقَاتُهُمْ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: «هَذِهِ صَدَقَاتُ قَوْمِنَا۔» قَالَ: وَكَانَتْ سَبِيَّةٌ مِنْهُمْ عِنْدَ عَائِشَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «أَعْتِقِيهَا فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ۔»

ابن حبّان:٦٨٠٨ – أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

لَا أَزَالُ أُحِبُّ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ بَعْدَ ثَلَاثٍ سَمِعْتُهُنَّ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَدِمَ مِنْهُمْ سَبْيٌ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَكَانَ عَلَى بَعْضِهِمْ رَقَبَةٌ مِنْ بَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَعْتِقْهَا فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ» وَجَاءَتْهُ صَدَقَاتُ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «هَذِهِ صَدَقَاتُ قَوْمِنَا» وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ «هُمْ أَشَدُّ أُمَّتِي عَلَى الدَّجَّالِ» *

[Machine] I fell in love with the Banu Tamim after three of their men heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said, "They are the strongest of my Ummah against the Dajjal (Antichrist)." There was a breeze from them by Aisha, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her, "Set it free as it is from the offspring of Ismail (Ishmael) ﷺ ." Their charity came, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "This is the charity of our people."  

البيهقي:١٣١٤٦ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَمْرٍو الْأَدِيبُ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْإِسْمَاعِيلِيُّ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو يَعْلَى ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ ثنا جَرِيرٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ قَالَ لَا
