A man came to Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Who is more entitled to be treated with the best companionship by me?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Your mother." The man said. "Who is next?" The Prophet said, "Your mother." The man further said, "Who is next?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Your mother." The man asked for the fourth time, "Who is next?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Your father. "

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَنْ أَحَقُّ بِحُسْنِ صَحَابَتِي قَالَ أُمُّكَ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَنْ قَالَ أُمُّكَ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَنْ قَالَ أُمُّكَ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَنْ قَالَ ثُمَّ أَبُوكَ

Who among the people is most deserving of a fine treatment from my hand? He said: Your mother. He again said: Then who (is the next one)? He said: Again it is your mother (who deserves the best treatment from you). He said: Then who (is the next one)? He (the Holy Prophet) said: Again, it is your mother. He (again) said: Then who? Thereupon he said: Then it is your father. In the hadith transmitted on the authority of Qutalba, there is no mention of the word" the people".

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ مَنْ أَحَقُّ النَّاسِ بِحُسْنِ صَحَابَتِي قَالَ أُمُّكَ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَنْ قَالَ ثُمَّ أُمُّكَ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَنْ قَالَ ثُمَّ أُمُّكَ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَنْ قَالَ ثُمَّ أَبُوكَ

Messenger of Allah, who amongst the people is most deserving of my good treatment? He said: Your mother, again your mother, again your mother, then your father, then your nearest relatives according to the order (of nearness).

رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَنْ أَحَقُّ بِحُسْنِ الصُّحْبَةِ قَالَ أُمُّكَ ثُمَّ أُمُّكَ ثُمَّ أُمُّكَ ثُمَّ أَبُوكَ ثُمَّ أَدْنَاكَ أَدْنَاكَ

Messenger of Allah said: "They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, whom should I treat kindly?' He said: 'Your mother.' He said: 'Then who?' He said :'Your mother." He said: 'Then who?' He said: 'Your father'. He said : 'Then who?' He said: 'The next closest and the next closest.'"

قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَنْ أَبَرُّ قَالَ أُمَّكَ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَنْ قَالَ أُمَّكَ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَنْ قَالَ أَبَاكَ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَنْ قَالَ الأَدْنَى فَالأَدْنَى

[Machine] "A man said, 'O Messenger of Allah, who among the people is most deserving of my good companionship?' He replied, 'Your mother.' The man asked, 'Then who?' The Prophet said, 'Your mother.' The man asked again, 'Then who?' The Prophet once again replied, 'Your mother.' The man asked again, 'Then who?' This time, the Prophet said, 'Then your father.'"

رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَحَقُّ مِنِّي بِحُسْنِ الصُّحْبَةِ؟ قَالَ أُمُّكَ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ ثُمَّ أُمُّكَ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ ثُمَّ أُمُّكَ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ ثُمَّ أَبُوكَ

[Machine] A man came to the Messenger ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, inform me about the most deserving of people to accompany me." He said, "Yes, definitely, I will inform you. He said, "Who is it?" He said, "Your mother." He said, "Then who?" He said, "Your mother." He said, "Then who?" He said, "Then your father."

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى الرَّسُولِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ نَبِّئْنِي بِأَحَقِّ النَّاسِ مِنِّي صُحْبَةً فَقَالَ نَعَمْ وَاللهِلَتُنَبَّأَنَّ قَالَ مَنْ؟ قَالَ أُمُّكَ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ أُمُّكَ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ ثُمَّ أَبُوكَ

"I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Who most deserves(my) reverence?' He said: 'Your mother.'" He said: "I said: 'Then who?' He said: 'Your mother.'" He said: "I said: 'Then who?' He said: 'Your mother.'" He said: "I said: 'Then who?' He said: 'Then your father, then the nearest relatives, then the nearest relatives.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1897)

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَنْ أَبَرُّ؟ قَالَ أُمَّكَ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ ثُمَّ أُمَّكَ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ أُمَّكَ قَالَ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ ثُمَّ أَبَاكَ ثُمَّ الْأَقْرَبَ فَالْأَقْرَبَ

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, who is most deserving of kindness?" He said, "Your mother." I said, "Then who?" He said, "Your mother." I said, "Then who?" He said, "Your mother." I said, "Then who?" He said, "Your father. Then the closest relatives, one after another."

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَنْ أَبَرُّ؟ قَالَ أُمَّكَ قَالَ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ أُمَّكَ قَالَ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ أُمَّكَ ثُمَّ أَبَاكَ ثُمَّ الْأَقْرَبَ فَالْأَقْرَبَ

Messenger of Allah said: "They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, whom should I treat kindly?' He said: 'Your mother.' He said: 'Then who?' He said :'Your mother." He said: 'Then who?' He said: 'Your father'. He said : 'Then who?' He said: 'The next closest and the next closest.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3658)

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَنْ أَبَرُّ؟ قَالَ «أُمَّكَ» قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ «أُمَّكَ» قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ «أَبَاكَ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ «ثُمَّ الْأَقْرَبَ فَالْأَقْرَبَ»

[Machine] A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked, "O Messenger of Allah, who deserves good companionship the most?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Your mother." The man asked again, "Then who?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Your mother." The man asked a third time, "Then who?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Your father." It is then said that the mother deserves two-thirds of the kindness.

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَنْ أَحَقُّ النَّاسِ بِحُسْنِ الصُّحْبَةِ؟ قَالَ «أُمُّكَ» قَالَ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ «أُمُّكَ» قَالَ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ «أَبُوكَ» قَالَ فَيَرَوْنَ أَنَّ لِلْأُمِّ ثُلُثَيِ الْبِرِّ

Who among the people is most deserving of a fine treatment from my hand? He said: Your mother. He again said: Then who (is the next one)? [Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, who is most deserving of my kindness?" He said, "Your mother." I said, "Then who?" He said, "Then your mother." I said, "Then who?" He said, "Then your father, and then the closest relatives, the closest."

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ‍‍ مَنْ أَبَرُّ؟ قَالَ «أُمَّكَ» قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ «ثُمَّ أُمَّكَ» قُلْتُ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ «ثُمَّ أَبَاكَ ثُمَّ الْأَقْرَبَ فَالْأَقْرَبَ»

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, who is the most deserving of my good treatment?" He said, "Your mother." I said, "Then who?" He said, "Then your mother." I said, "Then who?" He said, "Then your mother." I said, "Then who?" He said, "Then your father, then the closest relative, then the next closest."

أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أِيُّ النَّاسِ أَحَقُّ مِنِّي بِحُسْنِ الصُّحْبَةِ؟ قَالَ أُمُّكَ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ ثُمَّ أُمُّكَ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ ثُمَّ أُمُّكَ قَالَ ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ ثُمَّ أَبُوكَ أَخْرَجَاهُ فِي الصَّحِيحِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ شُبْرُمَةَ

"I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Who most deserves(my) reverence?' He said: 'Your mother.'" He said: "I said: 'Then who?' He said: 'Your mother.'" He said: "I said: 'Then who?' The Prophet was asked, "O Messenger of Allah, to whom should I be dutiful?" "Your mother," he replied. He was asked, "Then whom?" "Your mother," he replied. He was asked, "Then whom?" "Your mother," he replied. He was asked, "Then whom?" He replied, "Your father."

قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ أَبَرُّ؟ قَالَ: «أُمَّكَ»، قَالَ: ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ: «أُمَّكَ»، قَالَ: ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ: «أُمَّكَ»، قَالَ: ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَ: «أَبَاكَ».
