While we were in the company of the Prophet, he said, "While I was asleep, I saw myself in Paradise and there I beheld a woman making ablution beside a palace, I asked, To whom does this palace belong? 'They said, To ʿUmar bin Al-Khattab.' Then I remembered ʿUmar's Ghaira (concerning women), and so I quickly went away from that palace." (When ʿUmar heard this from the Prophet), he wept and said, "Do you think it is likely that I feel Ghaira because of you, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"

بَيْنَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذْ قَالَ بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ رَأَيْتُنِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَإِذَا امْرَأَةٌ تَتَوَضَّأُ إِلَى جَانِبِ قَصْرٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ فَقَالُوا لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فَذَكَرْتُ غَيْرَتَهُ فَوَلَّيْتُ مُدْبِرًا فَبَكَى عُمَرُ وَقَالَ أَعَلَيْكَ أَغَارُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ

The Prophet, said, "I entered Paradise and saw a palace and asked whose palace is this? They (the Angels) said, "This palace belongs to ʿUmar bin Al-Khattab.' I intended to enter it, and nothing stopped me except my knowledge about your sense of Ghira (self-respect (O ʿUmar)." ʿUmar said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Let my father and mother be sacrificed for you! O Allah's Prophet! How dare I think of my Ghira (self-respect) being offended by you?"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ أَوْ أَتَيْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَأَبْصَرْتُ قَصْرًا فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا قَالُوا لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَدْخُلَهُ فَلَمْ يَمْنَعْنِي إِلاَّ عِلْمِي بِغَيْرَتِكَ قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ أَوَعَلَيْكَ أَغَارُ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: (I saw in a dream that) I entered Paradise, and behold, there was a palace built of gold! I asked, 'For whom is this palace?' They (the angels) replied, 'For a man from the Quraish.' " The Prophet added, "O Ibn Al-Khattab! Nothing stopped me from entering it except your Ghira." ʿUmar said, "How dare I think of my Ghira being offended by you, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِقَصْرٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا فَقَالُوا لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ فَمَا مَنَعَنِي أَنْ أَدْخُلَهُ يَا ابْنَ الْخَطَّابِ إِلاَّ مَا أَعْلَمُ مِنْ غَيْرَتِكَ قَالَ وَعَلَيْكَ أَغَارُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I entered Jannah (Paradise) and saw a palace made of gold. I asked, 'To whom does this belong?' They said, 'To a young man from the Quraysh.' I thought it was for me, but it belonged to Umar. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'What prevented me, O Abu Hafs, from entering it except that I do not enter something I don't own?' Abu Hafs (Umar) said, 'O Messenger of Allah, anyone I am jealous of, surely I am not jealous of you.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَرَأَيْتُ قَصْرًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالُوا لِفَتًى مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ فَظَنَنْتُهُ لِي فَإِذَا هُوَ لِعُمَرَ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا مَنَعَنِي يَا أَبَا حَفْصٍ أَنْ أَدْخُلَهُ إِلَّا مَا أَعْرِفُ مِنْ غَيْرَتِكَ قَالَ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَنْ كُنْتُ أَغَارُ عَلَيْهِ فَإِنِّي لَمْ أَكُنْ لِأَغَارَ عَلَيْكَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I entered Jannah and saw a palace made of gold or pearls, so I asked, 'Whose palace is this?' They said, 'It belongs to Umar ibn Al-Khattab.' I was prevented from entering it because of my knowledge of your jealousy." Umar said, "I am jealous for you with my father and mother."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أُدْخِلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَرَأَيْتُ فِيهَا قَصْرًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ أَوْ لُؤْلُؤٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ؟ قَالُوا لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فَمَا مَنَعَنِي أَنْ أَدْخُلَهُ إِلَّا عِلْمِي بِغَيْرَتِكَ» قَالَ عَلَيْكَ أَغَارُ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي عَلَيْكَ أَغَارُ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "I entered Paradise and saw in it a palace or a house." So I asked, "Whose is this?" They said, "It belongs to Umar ibn Al-Khattab." I wanted to enter it, so I mentioned your jealousy, O Abu Hafs, and I did not enter it. So Umar cried and said, "Are you jealous of me, O Messenger of Allah?"

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَرَأَيْتُ فِيهَا قَصْرًا أَوْ دَارًا» فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالُوا لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَدْخُلَهُ فَذَكَرْتُ غَيْرَتَكَ يَا أَبَا حَفْصٍ فَلَمْ أَدْخَلْهَا فَبَكَى عُمَرُ وَقَالَ «أَوَ عَلَيْكَ أَغَارُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟»

اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِقَصْرٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ قُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ قَالُوا لِشَّابٍّ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ قُلْتُ لِمَنْ قَالُوا لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فَلَوْلا مَا عَلِمْتَ مِنْ غَيْرَتِكَ دَخَلْتُهُ قَالَ عُمَر أَعَلَيْكَ يَا رَسولَ اللهِ أَغَارُ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِقَصْرٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ فَمَا مَنَعَنِي أَنْ أَدْخُلَ يَا ابْنَ [97] الْخَطَّابِ إِلَّا مَا أَعْلَمُ عَنْ غَيْرَتِكَ قَالَ وَعَلَيْكَ أَغَارُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ

("دَخَلتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَرَأَيْتُ فِيهَا دَارًا أَوْ قَصْرًا، فَقُلتُ: لِمَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالُوا: لعُمَرَ بن الْخَطَّابِ، فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَدْخُلَهَا فَذَكَرْتُ غَيْرَةَ أبِى حَمصٍ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّه، أوَ عَلَيْكَ أغَارُ؟ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّه، هَلْ هَدَانِى اللَّه إلَّا بِكَ؟ وَهَلْ رَفَعَنِى إِلَّا بِكَ؟ وَهَلْ مَنَّ عَلَىَّ إِلَّا بِكَ؟ ".

"عَن أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَرَأيتُ قَصْرًا مِنْ ذَهِبٍ أَعْجَبَني حُسْنُه فَقُلْتُ: لِمَنْ هَذَا؟ قِيلَ: لِعُمَر، فَمَا مَنَعنِي أَنْ أَدْخُلَهُ مَا عَلِمْتُ مِنْ غيْرتِكَ يَا عُمَر، فَبكَى عُمَر وَقَالَ: أَعَلَيْكَ أَغارُ يَا رَسُول الله (*)؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ : اليتِيمَة تُسْتأمر فِي نَفْسَها، فَإنْ سَكَتَتْ فَهُو إِذْنُهَا، وَإن أَبَت فَلا جَوازَ عَلَيْها".
