While we were in the company of the Prophet, he said, "While I was asleep, I saw myself in Paradise and there I beheld a woman making ablution beside a palace, I asked, To whom does this palace belong? 'They said, To ʿUmar bin Al-Khattab.' Then I remembered ʿUmar's Ghaira (concerning women), and so I quickly went away from that palace." (When ʿUmar heard this from the Prophet), he wept and said, "Do you think it is likely that I feel Ghaira because of you, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"

بَيْنَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذْ قَالَ بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ رَأَيْتُنِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَإِذَا امْرَأَةٌ تَتَوَضَّأُ إِلَى جَانِبِ قَصْرٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ فَقَالُوا لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فَذَكَرْتُ غَيْرَتَهُ فَوَلَّيْتُ مُدْبِرًا فَبَكَى عُمَرُ وَقَالَ أَعَلَيْكَ أَغَارُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ

While we were with Messenger of Allah ﷺ he said, "While I was sleeping, I saw myself in Paradise, and suddenly I saw a woman performing ablution beside a palace. I asked, 'For whom is this palace?' They replied, 'It is for ʿUmar.' Then I remembered ʿUmar's Ghira (self-respect) and went away quickly." ʿUmar wept and said, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! How dare I think of my ghira (self-respect) being offended by you?

بَيْنَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذْ قَالَ بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ رَأَيْتُنِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَإِذَا امْرَأَةٌ تَتَوَضَّأُ إِلَى جَانِبِ قَصْرٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ قَالُوا لِعُمَرَ فَذَكَرْتُ غَيْرَتَهُ فَوَلَّيْتُ مُدْبِرًا فَبَكَى وَقَالَ أَعَلَيْكَ أَغَارُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ

The Prophet, said, "I entered Paradise and saw a palace and asked whose palace is this? They (the Angels) said, "This palace belongs to ʿUmar bin Al-Khattab.' I intended to enter it, and nothing stopped me except my knowledge about your sense of Ghira (self-respect (O ʿUmar)." ʿUmar said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Let my father and mother be sacrificed for you! O Allah's Prophet! How dare I think of my Ghira (self-respect) being offended by you?"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ أَوْ أَتَيْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَأَبْصَرْتُ قَصْرًا فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا قَالُوا لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَدْخُلَهُ فَلَمْ يَمْنَعْنِي إِلاَّ عِلْمِي بِغَيْرَتِكَ قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ أَوَعَلَيْكَ أَغَارُ

While we were sitting with Messenger of Allah ﷺ, (he) Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "While I was sleeping, I saw a woman performing ablution beside a palace. I asked, "Whose palace is this?' It was said, 'This palace belongs to ʿUmar.' Then I remembered his sense of Ghira and returned." On that ʿUmar started weeping in that gathering and said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! How dare I think of my self-respect being offended by you?"

بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ جُلُوسٌ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَيْنَمَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ رَأَيْتُنِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَإِذَا امْرَأَةٌ تَتَوَضَّأُ إِلَى جَانِبِ قَصْرٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا قَالَ هَذَا لِعُمَرَ فَذَكَرْتُ غَيْرَتَهُ فَوَلَّيْتُ مُدْبِرًا فَبَكَى عُمَرُ وَهْوَ فِي الْمَجْلِسِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَوَعَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَغَارُ

We were sitting with Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said, "While I was sleeping, I saw myself in Paradise. Suddenly I saw a woman performing ablution beside a palace. I asked, "For whom is this palace?" They (the angels) replied, "It is for ʿUmar bin Al-Khattab." Then I remembered ʿUmar's ghira and went back hurriedly." On hearing that, ʿUmar started weeping and said, " Let my father and mother be sacrificed for you. O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! How dare I think of my Ghira being offended by you?

بَيْنَا نَحْنُ جُلُوسٌ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ رَأَيْتُنِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَإِذَا امْرَأَةٌ تَتَوَضَّأُ إِلَى جَانِبِ قَصْرٍ قُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ قَالُوا لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فَذَكَرْتُ غَيْرَتَهُ فَوَلَّيْتُ مُدْبِرًا قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَبَكَى عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَعَلَيْكَ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَغَارُ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: (I saw in a dream that) I entered Paradise, and behold, there was a palace built of gold! I asked, 'For whom is this palace?' They (the angels) replied, 'For a man from the Quraish.' " The Prophet added, "O Ibn Al-Khattab! Nothing stopped me from entering it except your Ghira." ʿUmar said, "How dare I think of my Ghira being offended by you, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِقَصْرٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا فَقَالُوا لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ فَمَا مَنَعَنِي أَنْ أَدْخُلَهُ يَا ابْنَ الْخَطَّابِ إِلاَّ مَا أَعْلَمُ مِنْ غَيْرَتِكَ قَالَ وَعَلَيْكَ أَغَارُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ

We were sitting with Messenger of Allah ﷺ he said, "While I was sleeping, I saw myself in Paradise, and behold, a woman was performing ablution by the side of a palace. I asked, 'For whom is this palace?' They replied, 'For ʿUmar' Then I remembered the Ghira of ʿUmar and returned immediately." ʿUmar wept (on hearing that) and said, " Let my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! How dare I think of my Ghira being offended by you.'

بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ جُلُوسٌ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ رَأَيْتُنِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَإِذَا امْرَأَةٌ تَتَوَضَّأُ إِلَى جَانِبِ قَصْرٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ فَقَالُوا لِعُمَرَ فَذَكَرْتُ غَيْرَتَهُ فَوَلَّيْتُ مُدْبِرًا فَبَكَى عُمَرُ وَقَالَ عَلَيْكَ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَغَارُ

While I was asleep I saw myself in Paradise and a woman performing ablution by the side of a palace. I said: For whom is it meant? They said: It is meant for 'Umar b. Khattab. (The Holy Prophet) said: There came across my mind the feeling of Umar and so I turned back and went away. Abu Huraira said: 'Umar wept as we were present in that meeting with Messenger of Allah ﷺ amongst us and Umar said: Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be taken as ransom for you. Could I at all feel any jealousy about you? This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Ibn Shihab with the same chain of transmitters.

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ إِذْ رَأَيْتُنِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَإِذَا امْرَأَةٌ تَوَضَّأُ إِلَى جَانِبِ قَصْرٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا فَقَالُوا لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فَذَكَرْتُ غَيْرَةَ عُمَرَ فَوَلَّيْتُ مُدْبِرًا قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَبَكَى عُمَرُ وَنَحْنُ جَمِيعًا فِي ذَلِكَ الْمَجْلِسِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ قَالَ عُمَرُ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَعَلَيْكَ أَغَارُ وَحَدَّثَنِيهِ عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ وَحَسَنٌ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ صَالِحٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ مِثْلَهُ

"We were sitting with the Prophet and he said: 'While I was sleeping I saw myself in Paradise (in a dream), and I saw a woman performing ablution beside a palace. I asked: "Whose palace is this?" She said: "'Umar's." I remembered his protective jealousy, so I turned away and left.'" Abu Hurairah said: ''Umar wept and said: 'May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah! Would I feel any protective jealousy against you?'"

كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ رَأَيْتُنِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِامْرَأَةٍ تَتَوَضَّأُ إِلَى جَانِبِ قَصْرٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ فَقَالَتْ لِعُمَرَ فَذَكَرْتَ غَيْرَتَهُ فَوَلَّيْتُ مُدْبِرًا قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَبَكَى عُمَرُ فَقَالَ أَعَلَيْكَ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَغَارُ

[AI] The Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ , said: "While I was asleep, I saw myself in Paradise. Then a woman came and performed ablution next to a palace. So I asked, 'Whose palace is this?' They replied, 'It belongs to Umar ibn Al-Khattab.' When I heard this, I turned away, feeling jealous. At that moment, Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, was sitting with people near the Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ . Umar cried when he heard this from the Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ . The Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ , said, 'Are you jealous of me, Umar, regarding your father?'"

إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ رَأَيْتُنِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَإِذَا امْرَأَةٌ تَوَضَّأُ إِلَى جَنْبِ قَصْرٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ؟ قَالُوا لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فَذَكَرْتُ غَيْرَتَكَ فَوَلَّيْتُ مُدْبِرًا وَعُمَرُ حِينَ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ جَالِسٌ عِنْدَهُ مَعَ الْقَوْمِ فَبَكَى عُمَرُ حِينَ سَمِعَ ذَلِكَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ أَعَلَيْكَ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ أَغَارُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I entered Paradise and there I found a palace made of gold. So, I asked, 'Who does this palace belong to?' They replied, 'It belongs to a young man from the Quraysh.' I asked, 'Who is he?' They replied, 'He is Umar ibn al-Khattab.' Then, I said, 'If it wasn't for what I know about your jealousy, I would have entered it.' Umar said, 'May I be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah! I am jealous for your sake.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِقَصْرٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ؟ قَالُوا لِشَابٍّ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ قُلْتُ لِمَنْ؟ قَالُوا لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ فَلَوْلَا مَا عَلِمْتُ مِنْ غَيْرَتِكَ لَدَخَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَغَارُ

that the Prophet ﷺ said: "I entered Paradise and it was as if I was in a palace of gold. So I said: 'Whose palace is this?' They said: 'A youth's, from the Quraish.' So I thought that I was him. I said: 'And who is he?' They said: "'Umar bin Al-Khattab." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3688)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَرَأَيْتُ قَصْرًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ قُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ؟ قَالُوا لِشَابٍّ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍفَظَنَنْتُ أَنِّي أَنَا هُوَ قَالُوا لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I entered Jannah (Paradise) and saw a palace made of gold. I asked, 'To whom does this belong?' They said, 'To a young man from the Quraysh.' I thought it was for me, but it belonged to Umar. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'What prevented me, O Abu Hafs, from entering it except that I do not enter something I don't own?' Abu Hafs (Umar) said, 'O Messenger of Allah, anyone I am jealous of, surely I am not jealous of you.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَرَأَيْتُ قَصْرًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالُوا لِفَتًى مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ فَظَنَنْتُهُ لِي فَإِذَا هُوَ لِعُمَرَ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا مَنَعَنِي يَا أَبَا حَفْصٍ أَنْ أَدْخُلَهُ إِلَّا مَا أَعْرِفُ مِنْ غَيْرَتِكَ قَالَ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَنْ كُنْتُ أَغَارُ عَلَيْهِ فَإِنِّي لَمْ أَكُنْ لِأَغَارَ عَلَيْكَ

that the Prophet ﷺ said: "I entered Paradise and it was as if I was in a palace of gold. So I said: 'Whose palace is this?' They said: 'A youth's, from the Quraish.' So I thought that I was him. I said: 'And who is he?' They said: "'Umar bin Al-Khattab." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3688)

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I entered Paradise and saw a palace made of gold, so I asked, 'Whose palace is this?' They said, 'It belongs to a young man from the Quraysh.' I thought it was mine, so I asked, 'Who is he?' It was said, 'Umar ibn al-Khattab.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِقَصْرٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ؟ » فَقَالُوا لِفَتًى مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ لِي قُلْتُ «مَنْ هُوَ؟ » قِيلَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I entered Jannah and saw a palace made of gold or pearls, so I asked, 'Whose palace is this?' They said, 'It belongs to Umar ibn Al-Khattab.' I was prevented from entering it because of my knowledge of your jealousy." Umar said, "I am jealous for you with my father and mother."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أُدْخِلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَرَأَيْتُ فِيهَا قَصْرًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ أَوْ لُؤْلُؤٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ؟ قَالُوا لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فَمَا مَنَعَنِي أَنْ أَدْخُلَهُ إِلَّا عِلْمِي بِغَيْرَتِكَ» قَالَ عَلَيْكَ أَغَارُ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي عَلَيْكَ أَغَارُ

that the Prophet ﷺ said: "I entered Paradise and it was as if I was in a palace of gold. So I said: 'Whose palace is this?' They said: 'A youth's, from the Quraish.' So I thought that I was him. I said: 'And who is he?' They said: "'Umar bin Al-Khattab." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3688)

عَنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ رَأَيْتُنِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَإِذَا امْرَأَةٌ تَوَضَّأُ إِلَى جَانِبِ قَصْرٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا؟ فَقَالَتْ لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فَذَكَرْتُ غَيْرَةَ عُمَرَ فَوَلَّيْتُ مُدْبِرًا» قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَبَكَى عُمَرُ وَنَحْنُ جَمِيعًا فِي ذَلِكَ الْمَجْلِسِ ثُمَّ قَالَ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَعَلَيْكَ أَغَارُ؟

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِقَصْرٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ قُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ؟ قَالُوا لِشَّابٍّ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ قُلْتُ لِمَنْ؟ قَالُوا لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فَلَوْلا مَا عَلِمْتَ مِنْ غَيْرَتِكَ دَخَلْتُهُ قَالَ عُمَر أَعَلَيْكَ يَا رَسولَ اللهِ أَغَارُ؟

أَن النَّبِيّ ﷺ قال دخلت الجنة فرأيت فيها قصرا من ذهب فقلت لمن هذا القصر؟ قيل لرجل من قريش فسألت أو قيل لي عُمَر بن الخطاب أحسبه قال فلولا غيرتك لدخلته فقال عُمَر أو عليك أغار يا رسول الله وهذا الحديث مشهور عن حُمَيد عَن أَنَس وأما عن المختار فلا نعلم رواه إلاَّ حسين بن علي عن زائدة

قال بينما نحن جلوس عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ إذ قال بينا أنا قائم في الجنة فإذا امرأة توضأ إلى جانب قصر قلت لمن هذا القصر؟ قالوا لعمر فذكرت غيرته فوليت مدبرا قال الزُّهْرِيّ فبكى عُمَر قال عليك أغار يا رَسولَ اللهِ بأبي أنت وأمي

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I dreamt that I entered paradise, and there was a palace with a white courtyard and a young girl inside." So I asked, "Who does this belong to, O Gabriel?" He replied, "This belongs to Umar ibn Al-Khattab, and I intended to enter it, but then I remembered your jealousy." So Umar said, "By my father and mother, O Messenger of Allah, do you feel jealous?"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أُرِيتُ أَنِّي دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ وَإِذَا قَصْرٌ أَبْيَضُ بِفِنَائِهِ جَارِيَةٌ» فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا يَا جِبْرِيلُ؟ قَالَ «هَذَا لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَدْخُلَهُ فَأَنْظُرَ إِلَيْهِ فَذَكَرْتُ غَيْرَتَكَ» فَقَالَ «بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَوَ عَلَيْكَ أَغَارُ؟»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "I entered Paradise and saw in it a palace or a house." So I asked, "Whose is this?" They said, "It belongs to Umar ibn Al-Khattab." I wanted to enter it, so I mentioned your jealousy, O Abu Hafs, and I did not enter it. So Umar cried and said, "Are you jealous of me, O Messenger of Allah?"

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَرَأَيْتُ فِيهَا قَصْرًا أَوْ دَارًا» فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالُوا لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَدْخُلَهُ فَذَكَرْتُ غَيْرَتَكَ يَا أَبَا حَفْصٍ فَلَمْ أَدْخَلْهَا فَبَكَى عُمَرُ وَقَالَ «أَوَ عَلَيْكَ أَغَارُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟»

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: (I saw in a dream that) I entered Paradise, and behold, there was a palace built of gold! I asked, 'For whom is this palace?' They (the angels) replied, 'For a man from the Quraish.' " The Prophet added, "O Ibn Al-Khattab! Nothing stopped me from entering it except your Ghira." ʿUmar said, "How dare I think of my Ghira being offended by you, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" (Using translation from Bukhārī 7024)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِقَصَرٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ» قُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالُوا لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ فَمَا يَمْنَعُنِي أَنْ أَدْخُلَهُ يَا ابْنَ الْخَطَّابِ إِلَّا مَا أَعْلَمُ مِنْ غَيْرَتِكَ قَالَ «وَعَلَيْكَ أَغَارُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟»

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِقَصْرٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ فَمَا مَنَعَنِي أَنْ أَدْخُلَ يَا ابْنَ [97] الْخَطَّابِ إِلَّا مَا أَعْلَمُ عَنْ غَيْرَتِكَ قَالَ وَعَلَيْكَ أَغَارُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ

"بَينَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ رَأَيتُ أنِّي فِي الجَنَّةِ فَإِذَا أنَا بِامْرَأةٍ تَتَوَضأُ إِلَى جَانِب قَصرٍ فَقُلتُ: لمَنْ هَذا القَصْرُ؟ قَالُوا: لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الخطَّابِ، فذكَرْتُ غَيرَتَكَ فَوَلَّيتُ مُدْبرًا".

("دَخَلتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَرَأَيْتُ فِيهَا دَارًا أَوْ قَصْرًا، فَقُلتُ: لِمَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالُوا: لعُمَرَ بن الْخَطَّابِ، فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَدْخُلَهَا فَذَكَرْتُ غَيْرَةَ أبِى حَمصٍ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّه، أوَ عَلَيْكَ أغَارُ؟ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّه، هَلْ هَدَانِى اللَّه إلَّا بِكَ؟ وَهَلْ رَفَعَنِى إِلَّا بِكَ؟ وَهَلْ مَنَّ عَلَىَّ إِلَّا بِكَ؟ ".

"دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَإِذَا أَنَا بقَصرٍ منْ ذَهَبٍ، فَقُلْتُ: لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ؟ قَالُوا: لِشَاب مِنْ قُرَيشٍ -فَظَنَنْتُ أنِّى أَنَا هُو- قُلت، وَمَنْ هُوَ؟ قَالُوا: عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّاب، فَلَوْلَا مَا عَلِمْتُ مِنْ غَيْرَتِك لَدَخَلتُهُ".

"عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ الله ﷺ يَقُولُ: بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ رَأَيْتُنِى فِى الْجَنَّةِ، فَإِذَا أنَا بِامْرَأةٍ تَتَوَضَّأُ إِلَى جَانِبِ قَصْرٍ، فَقُلتُ: مَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ؟ فَقَالُوا: لِعُمَرَ، فَذَكرْتُ غَيْرَتَهُ، فَوَلَّيْتُ مُدْبِرًا، فَبَكَى عُمَرُ وَهُوَ فِى الْمَجْلِسِ، فَقَالَ: أعَلَيْكَ بِأَبِى أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ الله أَغَارُ".

"عَن أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَرَأيتُ قَصْرًا مِنْ ذَهِبٍ أَعْجَبَني حُسْنُه فَقُلْتُ: لِمَنْ هَذَا؟ قِيلَ: لِعُمَر، فَمَا مَنَعنِي أَنْ أَدْخُلَهُ مَا عَلِمْتُ مِنْ غيْرتِكَ يَا عُمَر، فَبكَى عُمَر وَقَالَ: أَعَلَيْكَ أَغارُ يَا رَسُول الله (*)؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ : اليتِيمَة تُسْتأمر فِي نَفْسَها، فَإنْ سَكَتَتْ فَهُو إِذْنُهَا، وَإن أَبَت فَلا جَوازَ عَلَيْها".
