The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to shorten the speeches. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1106)   

البيهقي:٥٧٦٦ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الثَّقَفِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ثنا أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِي رَاشِدٍ عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ يَاسِرٍ قَالَ

أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِإِقْصَارِ الْخُطَبِ

أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِإِقْصَارِ الْخُطَبِ

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ وَلَهُ شَاهِدٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ صحيح
