[Machine] "When the news of Abu Sufyan's approach reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , Abu Bakr spoke but he turned away from him. Then Umar spoke but he turned away from him. Sa'd bin 'Ubadah said to him: 'O Messenger of Allah, why don't you order us to shed the water of the ocean? By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, if you ordered us to do that, we would do so. And if you ordered us to strike its shores with our swords, we would do so.' 'Afifan said that Sulaiman narrated from Ibn 'Aun, from 'Amr bin Sa'id that Al-Ghamad refers to the fog or the dew. 'Affan mentioned that statement until he mentioned the hadeeth of 'Abdus Samad, until his (the Prophet's) hand reached no further than his hand"

[Machine] That when Abu Sufyan approached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , Abu Bakr spoke to him, but he turned away from him. Then Umar spoke to him, but he turned away from him as well. Sa'd bin 'Ubadah said, "O Messenger of Allah, I swear by the One in whose hand is my soul, if you command us to enter the sea, we will enter it and if you command us to strike the mountains, we will do so." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ requested the people, and they set out until they reached Badr. This narration is authentic according to the conditions of Imam Muslim, but he did not include it in his collection. Al-Dhahabi omitted mentioning it in his summary.
