1.6. Rest of the Ten Promised Paradise (4/7)
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said: "I am amazed at a Muslim when he is afflicted with good, he thanks Allah and praises Him, and when he is afflicted with a calamity, he remains patient, anticipates reward, and endures. The Muslim is rewarded for everything, even the morsel he raises to his mouth."
[Machine] I entered upon Saad and said to him a statement that I was informed about you when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ appointed Ali over Madinah. He became angry and said, "Who informed you of this?" I hated to inform him that his son had informed me, as he would become angry with him. Then he said, "Indeed, when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out during the battle of Tabuk, he appointed Ali over Madinah." Ali said, "O Messenger of Allah, I do not like for a face to go out without me being with it." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do you not want to be like Haroon was to Musa, except that there will be no prophet after me?"
never heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ say unto one living and moving about that he was in Paradise except to 'Abdullah b. Salim. (Using translation from Muslim 2383)
[Machine] Abdullah and I heard him, I myself heard Abdulah bin Wahb narrating from Makhrama, from his father, from Aamir bin Saad bin Abi Waqqas who said: I heard Saad and some of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "There were two brothers during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and one of them was better than the other. The one who was better passed away, then the other one lived for forty nights, then he also passed away. So the excellence of the first one over the other was mentioned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said, "Didn't he used to pray?" They said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." So there was nothing wrong with him. Then he said, "How do you know what his prayer has reached?" Then he said at that point, "Verily, the example of prayer is like a river flowing by a house with sweet and pure water, and a person enters it five times a day. So what do you think that will leave of his dirt?"
The Prophet ﷺ said, "It is better for a man to fill the inside of his body with pus than to fill it with poetry." (Using translation from Bukhārī 6154)
[Machine] I arrived at the city and we were told that the plague had occurred in Kufa. I asked, "Who narrated this hadith?" It was said, "Aamir ibn Saad." I then said, "But he was absent." I met Ibrahim ibn Saad and he told me that he had heard Osama ibn Zaid narrating to Saad that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When a plague breaks out in a land, do not enter it. And if it breaks out while you are in it, do not leave it." I asked, "Did you hear from Osama?" He replied, "Yes."
The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: "Fighting a Muslim is Kufr and defaming him is evildoing." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4104)
[Machine] "O Messenger of Allah, Allah has cured me today from the polytheists, so grant me this sword." He said, "This sword is not for you or me, put it down." He said, "So I put it down and then I said, perhaps this sword will be given today to one who has not gone through my hardship." He said, "Then a man called me from behind and said, 'Have you received anything?' I said, 'Has something been sent down to me?' He said, 'You asked about the sword and it is not for me, indeed it has been given to you, so it is yours.' He said, 'Then this verse was revealed: 'They ask you about the spoils of war. Say, "The spoils of war are for Allah and the Messenger."' (Surah Al-Anfal, 8:1)"
[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived in Medina, Juhaynah came to him and said, "You have come among us, so pledge trustworthiness to us until we come to you and believe in you." So he pledged trustworthiness to them and they became Muslims. He said, "Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent us in the month of Rajab, and we were not a hundred, and he commanded us to change course from Banu Kinanah to Juhaynah. So we approached them and they prevented us and said, 'Why are you fighting in the sacred month?' We said, 'We only fight those who drove us out of the sacred land during the sacred month.' Some of us said to others, 'What do you think?' Some of us said, 'Let's go to the Prophet ﷺ and inform him.' And a group said, 'No, let's establish ourselves here.' I said, 'I have some people with me, let's not go to an unprotected area of the Quraysh and seize their camels.' So we headed towards the camels, and at that time, whoever took something, it belonged to him. We went towards the camels, and our companions went to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him of the news. He got up angry and with a red face and said, 'You all left from me, and you came separately. Only those who were before you were destroyed by division. I will send upon you a man who is not the best among you in terms of patience, hunger, and thirst.' So he sent Abdullah bin Jahsh al-Asadi upon us, and he was the first appointed leader in Islam."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You will fight the Arabian Peninsula and Allah will open it for you. Then, you will fight Persia and Allah will open it for you. Then, you will fight Rome and Allah will open it for you. Then, you will fight the Dajjal (false messiah) and Allah will open it for you." Jabir said, "The Dajjal will not emerge until Rome is conquered."
[Machine] He heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "You will invade the Arabian Peninsula and Allah will open it for you, and you will invade Persia and Allah will open it for you, and you will invade Rome and Allah will open it for you, and you will invade the Dajjal (Antichrist) and Allah will open it for you."
"At the time of the Messenger of Allah landowners used to lease their arable land in return for whatever grew on the banks of the streams for irrigation. They came to the Messenger of Allah and referred a dispute concerning such matters to him, and the Messenger of Allah forbade them to lease land on such terms, and said: 'Lease it for gold or silver.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3894)
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "When one of you yawns in the mosque, let him hide his yawning so as not to harm the skin or clothing of a believer and cause him discomfort."
[Machine] And he (the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ ) said, "I heard the Prophet being asked about dried dates (rutab) and he said, 'It decreases if it dries.' They said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Then no.'"
The Muslim who offends most against the Muslims is he who enquires about something which has not been forbidden to men, and it is declared forbidden because of his enquiry. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4610)
On the authority of his father (Sa'd b. Abi Waqqas): When he (Sa'd) fell ill at Mecca (according to the version of Ibn Abi Kkalaf) - then the agreed version has: which brought him near to death - the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went to visit him. He said: Messenger of Allah, I have a large amount of property, and my daughter is my only heir. May I give two-thirds (of my property) as a sadaqah (charity)? He said: No. He asked: Then a half ? He replied: No. He asked: Then one-third ? He replied: (You may will away) a third and third is a lot. To leave your heirs rich is better than to leave them poor begging from people. You will not spend anything, seeking thereby to please Allah, without being rewarded for it, even the mouthful you give your wife. I said: Messenger of Allah, shall I be left behind form immigration (to Medina)? He said: If you remain behind after me and do good works seeking the pleasure of Allah, your rank will be raised and degree increased. Perhaps you will not remain behind, and some people will benefit from you and others will be harmed by you. He then said: O Allah, complete the immigration of my Companions and do not turn them back. But miserable was Sa'd b. Khawlah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ lamented on him as he died at Mecca. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2864)

that the Prophet ﷺ said to 'Ali: "You are to me in the position that Harun was to Musa, except that there is no Prophet after me." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3730)
[Machine] About the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in Dhuhr and Asr, I bend in the first two rak'ahs and straighten in the last two rak'ahs. I heard Umar saying, "This is what I assume about you, O Abu Ishaq."

(The narrator Qutaibah said: This tradition has been narrated by Sa'id b. Abu Sa'id in my collection): The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He who does not chant the Qur'an is not one of us. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1469)
I heard 'Umar say to ‘Abdur-Rahman bin ‘Awf, Talhah, az-Zubair and Sa'd: We adjure you by Allah, by whom heaven and earth are sustained, did you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Our (Prophets’) property is not to be inherited and whatever we leave behind is charity.ʿ They said: By Allah, yes, (Using translation from Aḥmad 172)

[Machine] I heard with my ears and my heart was aware from Muhammad ﷺ that whoever claims to be the child of someone other than his father, knowing that he is not his father, then Paradise is forbidden for him. So I met Abu Bakr and told him, and he said, "And I also heard with my ears and my heart was aware from Muhammad ﷺ ."

[Machine] He narrated to me, he said: The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: There is no contagious disease, evil omen, or superstition. If there were an evil omen in anything, it would be in a horse, a woman, and a house. And if you hear of the plague in a land, do not go to it. And if it occurs in a land where you are, do not flee from it.
[Machine] "Saad, O Messenger of Allah, which people face the greatest tribulations?" The Prophet, may peace and blessings be upon him, replied, "The prophets, then those most like them, and then those most like them." He continued, "Each person will be tested according to the strength of their faith. If their faith is strong, they will be tested accordingly. And I once said, 'The most severely tested are those with the strongest faith.' And if a person's faith is weak, they will be tested according to the strength of their faith. And I once said, 'Each person will be tested according to the strength of their faith.' The trials will continue to afflict a person until they walk on Earth free from any sin." My father commented, and it was also said by Saad, "I said, O Messenger of Allah..." [The rest of the passage is missing.]

I brought it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said, 'Go and throw it in the well.' So I went back, carrying with me something that only Allah knows, from the killing of my brother and the taking of my spoils. I did not go far until Surah Al-Anfal was revealed and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ told me, 'Go and take your sword.'"

[Machine] The people of Kufa complained to Umar about Sa'd, saying that he did not pray properly. Umar mentioned this to Sa'd, who responded, "As for the prayer of the Messenger of Allah, I used to pray with him by bowing more in the first two units and less in the last two units." Umar said, "That is your assumption, O Abu Ishaq."

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ who said, "The best remembrance is that which is done secretly, and the best provision is what is sufficient."

Teach me the words which I should (often) utter. He said: Utter," There is no god but Allah, the One, having no partner with Him. Allah is the Greatest of the great and all praise is due to Him. Hallowed be Allah, the Lord of the worlds, there is no Might and Power but that of Allah, the All-Powerful and the Wise." He (that desert Arab) said: These all (glorify) my Lord. But what about me? Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: You should say:" O Allah, grant me pardon, have mercy upon me, direct me to righteousness and provide me sustenance." Musa (one of the narrators) said: I think he also said:" Grant me safety." But I cannot say for certain whether he said this or not. Ibn Abi Shaiba has not made a mention of the words of Musa in his narration. (Using translation from Muslim 2696)

Is one amongst you powerless to get one thousand virtues every day. Amongst those who had been sitting there, one asked: How one amongst us can get one thousand virtues every day? He said: Recite:" Hallowed be Allah" one hundred times for (by reciting them) one thousand virtues are recorded (to your credit) and one tbousand vices are blotted out. If anyone says when he hears the MU’ADHDHIN : “And I testify that there is no god but Allah alone who has no partner and that Muhammad is His servant and Apostle: I am satisfied with Allah as lord, with Muhammad as apostle and with Islam as religion”, he will be forgiven. "I was the first man among the Arabs to shoot an arrow in Allah's cause. I saw that we battled along with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and there was no food for us but Al-Hubla and this Samur, such that one of us would leave droppings like the droppings of a sheep. Then Banu Asad appeared wanting to instruct me in religion. I would be a loser and have wasted my efforts." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2366)
[Machine] My father bought a sword, so I said, "O Messenger of Allah, allow me to fight with it." He replied, "Put it down." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, allow me to fight with it." He said, "Put it down wherever you found it." Then the verse was revealed, "They ask you about the spoils of war" (Quran 8:1), and he said, "This is the recitation of Ibn Mas'ood." My mother said, "Doesn't Allah command you to maintain family ties and be good to your parents? By Allah, I will not eat or drink until you disbelieve in Muhammad." So she refrained from eating until her cheeks turned hollow. They filled a container with milk and poured it into her mouth with a stick. Shu'bah said, "I think it was during the revelation of 'And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness'" (Quran 31:14), and he continued reciting until he reached the verse, "For whatever good deeds you do" (Quran 31:15). The Prophet ﷺ visited me while I was sick, and I said, "O Messenger of Allah, can I donate all of my wealth?" He prevented me. I asked, "Half of it?" He replied, "No." I asked, "A third of it?" He remained silent, so the people took it and a man from the Ansar prepared food. They ate, drank, and became intoxicated with alcohol. This took place before it was prohibited. We gathered around him and praised ourselves. The Ansar said, "The Ansar are better," and the Muhajirun said, "The Muhajirun are better." A man leaned his face against a pig's belly, and his nose got damaged. The nose of Sa'd became crooked. Then the verse was revealed, "O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling" (Quran 5:90), until Allah's saying, "Then will you not desist?" (Quran 5:91).

I have declared sacred the territory between the two lava plains of Medina, so its trees should not be cut down, or its game killed; and he also said: Medina is best for them if they knew. No one leaves it through dislike of it without Allah putting in it someone better than he in place of him; and no one will stay there in spite of its hardships and distress without my being an intercessor or witness on behalf of him on the Day of Resurrection.
